Brink's Global Services - will not release from contract

I was transferred in my job from Wesley Chapel FL to Indianapolis IN and moved with friends until my house sold in FL. I called Brinks to discontinue my service with them and was told I was under a 3 year contract ( which was not explained when purchased ) and that unless Icould show proof that I joined the military or was renting, I could not be released...

Brink's Global Services scam and lies

I have Brinks Security. When I purchased their plan I also purchased the insurance to cover problems with the system.

I recently went through Hurricane Ike. when I finally regained power, I noticed the alarm was not working. I called Brinks only to be told that the insurance I have been paying for every month for 3 years doesn't cover disaster and that I would have to pay $20 for every 15 minutes the technician was at my house.

What have I been paying for? This is just another example of taking advantage of people during a crises!

Brink's Global Services terrible experience

On 10-2 of 2008, I visited the office in Tampa near the airport when after I took my time to ensure a completely filled out and neat application, I took it to the receptionist which pointed out that I needed to put down the addresses to employers I worked for 6 years ago. I told her that I had no idea what their address or phone numbers were and she told me that I could go to the Social Security Administration and find out there. I told her that there wasn't no way I was going to go there and do all that with gas being this expensive these days and no promise of getting hired. I then asked for her boss and after telling him the same thing, he immediately got very rude with a violent attitude. I told him the same thing that I told her and I asked for his boss's name. He told me that he was the boss. I told him that I wanted his boss because everybody has a boss. He took my application and threw it in the trash where I could see him do it and told me that I had 30 seconds to get off the property. I left the property and when I cleared the gate, I noticed that he had followed me outside and started yelling at me. I thought he was going to jump the gate! After getting home, I called the main branch and he told me that he would have the person that handles these things call me back later. When he did call me back, he was telling me that their story differed from mine and, in other words, it was going to be their words against mine. He told me that I wasn't allowed on the property anymore and told me that a fellon shouldn't be applying for a job there to start with. I am not a fellon and I don't know where he got that from!

They get all upset when people cheat or rob them, but when one of their drivers wreck a woman's motorize wheelchair they refuse to make restitution. Over a year ago a Brink's driver in Columbus Ohio made a right turn on red without stopping and hit my wife and her motorize wheelchair. She suffered minor injures but her chair sustained over $4000.00 worth of damaged, which we had to pay out of pocket from an advance on my retirement account, on a $30, 000 less then a year old chair. They claim "he said she said" because the Columbus Police officer refused to take third party witness statements. They offer less than a $1000.00. They are very hypocritical.

Write a letter to the collection agency tell them to cease all contact with you according to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and they must stop all contact with you effective immediatley. Send it certified mail with return receipt. If the collectioon agency gives you any notices or contacts you after that, then you automatically win $1, 000.00 from the collection agency after that if you take them to court, but you need to save the documents. If the collection agency has given you any notice / documentation stating that the money is due NOW if they use the words NOW, Immediatly, or threaten to attach wages before a judgement against you, ect., then again you automatically win $1, 000.00 if you take them to court. The $1, 000.00 should be enough to knock some or all of the money you owe. Tell Brinks to Go fly a Kite.

Brink's Global Services extended warranty

Why purchase the extended warranty? I just recently went through Hurricane Ike and now my system does not work. I have their extended warranty plan so I called for assistance. Only to be informed that the insurance I have been paying for doesn't cover any type of disaster.

What a joke!

Sorry to hear but brinks did come out and fix one of screen that had been broken because of ike they came out and repaired it with no problems . Its odd that they would tell you that. i paid for the extended warranty as well but i told them i had been out of town and the screen had split and looked black and inky and the system kept beeping at 10 pm each night and unless you pressed cancel cancel twice it would ring again. I am sorry to hear about what happened to you .

They scammed me too in a different way. The best way back at them is to switch service as soon as your contract expires. They only win when you are paying them. Find a small local ly owned company and get service you pay for. tay away from Brinks, they are the worse of them all.

I have been a Brink's customer since 1993, and have always been happy with their service. I also have the extended service plan. My agreement states that the extended service plan excludes damage caused by acts of God (except lightning). It makes sense that this exclusion would apply to hurricanes. That's why you carry homeowners insurance. A few years ago, I was relieved to learn that the extended service plan DOES cover damage caused by lightning or power surge. After suffering a lightning strike that damaged my security system, along with several other appliances, I was happy to have a Brink's representative tell me that they would send a technician to my house on Sunday afternoon to repair the damage, and at no charge to me! Previously, when I had ADT, their service technicians always told me the problems with my system were due to lightning, and their service plan does not cover lightning damage. I paid again and again for service calls and always thought I was being ripped off by ADT because they just didn't want to honor their extended warranty.

Brink's Global Services video surveilance poor plan instal

I had a security system installed just over a year ago. The system includes a regular electronic system as well as a video surveilance system The electronic system works well and there are no problems. Service is outstanding. The video surveilance department is unbelieveably difficult to work with and refuse to retun my calls as i have requested changes upon several occasions and if they would even just come out and revieww the sustem, ( preferablly, the supervisor to the agent that recommended the set up of the cameras and what she told me they would do and what i actually got were two different things. Their attitude was to 'Save me money", why because I am a young female? I own a home in an affluent neighborhood and had grand theft. I explained explicitly and without question that the system had to be very effective.

I have not been happy wtith the install since the date of install. When I explained my concerns initially they mad eexcuses and convinced me to believe that their rational was the best to offer and anything else would be overkill. The cameras wre not installedin strategically appropriate manner and they are visible. I have called Brimnks and have been consistently told the only relolution to the problem is to contact the office that installed the surveilance system. Whey will no longer deal with me. I have since has another robery when someone was in the home. If I move the cameras the warrenty and all related support services are then considered null and void. I have issues that reuire video surveilance recording so I am able to inform the authorities of unlawful activities occuring around and to my home.

I have called the corporate office and have been told the branch offices are independent and they have no connection with the surveilance units. Something is very wrong and I am at a wall. Can you help?

Frustrated and violated!

Sue

I could not agree more about this company. You are paying for the Brinks name and nothing else! Brinks refuses to back you up or help when their "business partners" fail. We had 2 alarms go off this last tuesday night. I was very scared. I did not trigger the alarm so I knew something was wrong. Brinks called me. I told them to send someone and I sat for over an hour waiting... scared and freaked out. After an HOUR I was so mad! If something had been wrong, my children and I would be killed and who knows what else! I called Brinks and they said I would have to call the security company myself. I am sorry but why am I paying Brinks again? So the RUDE Customer servicce lady gace me the number to call and it was disconnected. SO, I called brinks again and I was given a 1800 number by the next rude customer service lady. The 1800 number was a S@x line! HELLO! How professional is that? I called Brinks yet a 3rd time and I was given yet another number. I called and got through but was told that I needed to leave a message and someone would get back with me. ... No one ever did. Brinks says that they are a dispatch company. They arent installation, security or anything else BUT a dispatch service. What a Joke! Anyone thinking of getting Brinks should reconsider! I have been let down and feel like Brinks is a joke! I could call the police myself.

Thanks Brinks! YOU SUCK!

There is no such thing as Customer Service at Brinks Security. I just had my system installed May, 2008 and there are problems. When I talked to the GM & District Mgr., they were verbally abusive to me and basically said that I couldn't do anything about it because I signed a contact. They put several holes in my drywall trying to install, 5 holes in my new patio door, and didn't clean up any of their mess. My home phone no longer works and my sliding patio door won't open because they have the connectors too close to the frame for it to slide. Yet, they don't see why I'm unhappy. They have damaged my home trying to install this (not what I call professional). The way they talk to their customers should be a crime. When I called to complain, they raised their voice to me and treated me like I was an idiot. If I had it to do again, I would have never called them (many people told me that have had them and didn't like them). One would expect better from them.

Brink's Global Services failure to pay damages!

We had Brinks Home Security install a home alarm system. I have no problems with their alarm. It seems to work fine. Their installers, however, unplugged our freezer during their installation and it resulted in $1,500 worth of steaks and other food being destroyed. We called Brinks and after 6 months of phone calls, they decided they'll pay us $500. Even though we have the damaged good, they're claiming we have no proof. They claim they wanted paper receipts for all items. We gave them pictures of all the damaged items showing the prices. They still refused to give us the full value of the food. This company will screw you.

the contract clearly states that the service plan does not cover any thing that YOU do to the system ie change phone carriers change out doors or take a hammer to the keypad and why would it im a tech for a dealer branch and ive experienced them all and have never had a customer complain once it was explained and if ive said it once ive said it a hundred times READ YOUR CONTRACT no one can complain about anything that they themselves have signed off on

Can you try and Take them to small claims court? Its only $30 - 100 to file in most places and you don't need a lawyer and they can't bring one either.

I'm had them for 4 1/2 years now and mostly good service but recently their customer service gave me a really bad attitude on the phone and they wanted to charge me $120 or something per hour to have a rep come out and fix my phone lines so they work with the alarm system after I changed phone companies. I have their "Platinum Service Plan" which is like $5/month extra but they still don't care. Its not what I was told when I signed up. I ended up figuring out the wiring myself.

Also, they recently broke the contract billing terms by automatically increasing my monthly rate without warning. I was told it would never increase as long as I remain a customer. I was set at $32.99 and then recently they just started charging me $34.99 without notice. Its really shady! Beware of their billing practices and contracts. Read everything in the contract and get the sales person to sign a separate contract that you draw up which covers any extra promises he/she makes such as "your rate will never change"

$1, 500 worth of steak and food? First off, I don't work for Brinks, I'm just here to do research before I decide on my purchase. But really, get over yourself.

Brink's Global Services - horrible company!

I bought an alarm system from Brinks Home security at the beginning of 2007 and have had nothing but problems. The alarm goes off at least once a week for no apparent reason. After calling Brinks and being transferred to 8 different people, I finally was able to speak to someone who told me that I would have to wait a week to get a service appointment. I am...
