Husband made appointment for an outdoor spigot replacement. I was home to take care of appointment.
Plumber came in and started inspecting the utility area downstairs,commented on water heater and tested water…to which I said we only need a new spigot..he replied..oh this is included…
He finally got around to to the reason he was there.
That took about 20 minutes.
He presented a bill…$1042.00, I asked why so high. He rambled on about how these prices are everywhere…he’s a master plumber..bla bla bla.
I made the mistake of presenting my credit card.
(Lesson learned) on top of that he wanted to sell me a maintenance plan.) WTH!
They don’t give you a paper copy of bill..said that would be emailed. Didn’t get the email. Called office and was told I wasn’t on the account and wasn’t able to help me. I was at the appointment, used My credit card. Turns out they didn’t put correct email in their system for my spouse.
Bottom line…I have since done some digging in pluming costs…their’s is way out of line…price gouging . My husband finally talked to one of the owners to
Asked for breakdown/hourly charges,etc.
Was told they have to cover their overhead, salaries, etc. WOW- the paperless billing allows them to pump up pricing without parts and labor breakdown. This was misleading and they should not be allowed to continue doing business without complete consumer knowledge of facts and costs.
After searching BBB and other review sites, looks like 80% negative reviews!
Recommendation: DONT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!!
