excessive use of train horn
I live in blytheville arkansas across from tomlinson railyard. I realize this is a switch yard with multiple tracks and the switch engines have to pull past the frog/switcher to put cars in order. However there is a railroad crossing about give or take several hundred yards. There is one house trailer and 2 farm shop buildings which store farm tractors. Hardly any traffic other than the bnsf workers going to the small depot office. All i'm is that from 1am to roughly 5am in the morning to use a little discretion and common sense at this time of night when obviously there isn't any traffic on blowing the train horn. It used excessively enough the horn sticks and blows for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. People are trying to sleep in order to work the next day. If I don't get any satisfaction my next step will be to look into seeking a quiet zone policy. Thank you kindly. Randall nichols 4714 east main blytheville ar. 72315
company didn't help and reply to my complaints
One day the train of the company bnsf railway blocked the road and a lot of people were stuck, because the train stopped and didn’t move. I was in the morning and a lot of people missed the work and children –schools. I called to this company and left messages and complaints, but no one responded. The horrible situation and the worst thing is that this company did nothing in order to remove train from the road. Share this info and post other comments about this company.
unusual squeaking noise all night
I live near edgewater and vickery boulevard west in fort worth and the train noise last night was unusual loud last night. It was like a shrieking shrill noise that made it impossible to sleep with the windows closed and earplugs.
It would be great if someone at burlington northern could look into this right away. I understand they own the railway at this location.
night time horn overkill
Parallel to the residential street and righ along side two extremely busy gasoline fuel stations the railroad operation of empty rail road storage of empty container sections which are continuously paraded at night with a horn blowing at max output sound are with total disregard for the need of residents for a quiet restful night of sleep. Ironically 75% of the affected residents are homeowners who work early morning to midday shifts in which it is thus made a near impossible task to get a good night of sleep.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I live in an apartment next to the railroad tracks in sandwich illinois. Nearly every train that comes through our town is over using the horn way too loudly. There is no reason to blast it none stop! I am now suffering from chronic headaches as well as ringing in my ears and hearing loss. Tell conductors to stop behaving like children.
On 3 June 2023 at 1543 hrs, near Moab Junction, WA 99025 an eastbound train (engine no. 6646) sounded its horn 2 times, both short bursts. I have a clear view of the tracks, and there was no reason (within BNSF regulations) to sound the horn. The crossing at Moab is an overpass, so there are no gate crossings. This has been happening for years.
There is no reason why the trains need to lay on their horns all the way through Rozet! There are people who live here and get pissed hearing horns every 15 minutes or so...
3:30 PM the train is blocking the entire town of Valley Center again! this continues to happen on a regular basis. Anytime of the day or night.
On Fremont Ave crossing at Galesburg, Illinois, part of the track was fixed with wooden board and all the screws are showing off, every time I drive by I am scared that my tires will blow up and I will get stuck on the tracks.I wonder if you guys will fix that before an accident happens.
