Big Lots review: Inquired about a job

I applied with big lots in March of 2020. I have been doing retail stocking for about 10 years now. I called the beginning of April & was told the boss was in a meeting & I would receive a call back. I never did. It is now the middle of May. I called backed today to be told by Peggy the store manager they have already gone over my app & the position was filled.. she never ask my name. So how is that true? I wouldn't have went after the job if I weren't getting a thousand alerts a day saying they were hiring. Then she proceeded to hang up on me while I was still talking to her. What kind of store manager handles customers like that? This store is located in the shopping plaza on South Florida Ave in Lakeland. With the experience I've had this morning is enough to decide I don't want to be a customer of big lots anymore. Poorly treated over the phone. I doubt it would be any different inside the store.
Covid19 has ruined alot of us. We all need help & jobs right now.. this is no way to treat someone that actually wants to work..
