Big Bear Getaway

I ain't renting from them no more. We rented a house over the July 4th weekend 2022 and it was dirty as heck. Dust was all over the furniture, window sills, walls, and cobwebs were everywhere. I called them up to complain but they only offered to come and "clean" it. We didn't want them to do that since we already unpacked all our stuff and didn't want the dust and cobwebs to get stirred up. Plus, they should have cleaned it before renting it out. We were stuck there since we were past the refund deadline. The house looked like it had been empty during COVID and hadn't been cleaned for a while. We found more issues over the weekend like the dryer not working, the dishwasher not working, rusty cooking pans, and the outside deck had loose railings that were dangerous for our 2-year-old grandson. We had to block off areas with chairs to keep him safe. I emailed them and sent pictures but no one ever called me back. I even called them after we checked out but still no one called me back. They already had our money so they didn't care about customer service. I filed a small claims case against them but lost since I technically didn't suffer a "loss" and used the house. Their customer service is terrible and the condition of the house was horrible. I won't be renting from them again. I just wanted to talk to someone and come to a resolution but they didn't care. Buyer beware! I wish I could show you pictures.

I booked a place to stay at Big Bear Getaway on Vrbo. A few days before my trip, Big Bear Getaway called me and said that the place I booked was not available. They gave me another place, but it wasn't as nice. They didn't give me a discount even though it wasn't as good. I said no thanks and asked for a full refund. They said yes, but I still haven't gotten all my money back. They only gave me $200 for a future stay, which is less than what they owe me. I don't want to stay with them again, I just want my money back like they promised.

We rented a cabin after Christmas and it was not worth the $1,200 per night. The bathroom had pee stains on the toilet and the bedsheets were dusty and smelly. We had to wash them ourselves. The loft was dangerous for our kids because the rail was loose. There were not enough forks for everyone and the kitchen was not fully stocked. The pictures were creepy but that was not the main issue. The property management company or owner is greedy or mismanaged. We hope other families don't have to go through what we did without any refund.
