Overcharging
Linda of Bedwell Van Lines quoted us a rate for moving from our house in Pickering to our new residence. This was confirmed in an email months before the moving date.
On the date of the move, Mark - A Bedwell employee asked us to sign a credit card form with a higher rate and they used a 2nd truck without our consent. He said not to worry as this is standard procedure and we won't be charged a higher rate on the actual statement that will be sent to us.
We did not get the statement until we requested for it more than 3 times.
We were billed the higher rate - by $500
When we complained to them, they sent us a new statement with an even higher amount!
Don't trust Bedwell Van Lines.

Stay away from Bedwell van lines pickering. They were supposed to turn up at 8am and without any forewarning until we had to chase them turned up bout 10.30. They were to go straight to the locker for delivery instead went on a tour of the region with our furniture inside for an entire day. Times kept on changing and we called the police thinking they had taken our furniture. Half the time just guessing when the guys would arrive at the other end. Customer service was rude and finally said to me what a lot of bother for the weight of this load. Finally there was a stand off. i had given them my master card number the week before as i would not be at the other end only my husband and my understanding was this was the usual practice. The stand off occured that unless i drove from my work ( 1 hour ) in rush hour with the said master card to show the driver they refused to lift a finger. By the time got to the locker it was bout 5.30pm. I was livid having chased them all day and then having to run to meet them with my husband otherwise we would have to start again some other day. it was the most stressful moving experience.
i filed a complaint with BBB asking for a formal receipt and apology. The company seems to have refused by staying silent. I now have to pursue with other agencies of the media to obtain what i need.

I have used Bedwell both per hour qoute and a guarntee quote on my last 2 moves. When I did the quote over the phone for per hour I only gave them some info to get the rate etc. Bedwell gave me approx hours for my move. The move was 2 hours longer than they thought but it was my fault by not telling them what I had in furniture. Could that be why you thought you were over charged? Bedwell did a great job 100% satisfied.
I have used Bedwell twice now, and both moves were quick with no problems. Price was always fair, and as quoted.
In October of this year the same thing happened to me with the overcharging of my credit card. I was asked to pay prior to the offloading of the truck and if there was any time not used, it would be refunded back. This was not the case. Almost 2 months after, I am fighting for my refund.
We have used Bedwell movers on three household moves and never had any problems or difficulties. Pricing was reasonable.
