I accidentally purchased a subscription to AskGPT after landing on their site while searching for Perplexity, since their search listing misleadingly included "Perplexity" in the description. Realizing my mistake immediately, I cancelled the subscription and contacted their customer service right away. They assured me in writing that I would not be charged and a refund would be processed, but despite multiple follow-ups, they have refused to return my money.
To make matters worse, their policies specifically state they do not refund for accidental purchases, even with proof of immediate cancellation and written assurances. My credit card company refused to dispute the charge because of AskGPT's policy, leaving me with no recourse. This business model feels intentionally deceptive and unfair, preying on honest mistakes and misleading search results.
If you’re looking for Perplexity or any other reputable AI service, stay far away from AskGPT. I’ve had a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience, and I hope sharing my story will help others avoid the same issue.
