Online payment
On September 1, 2023, I made an online payment for $70.00. This system gave me an Error message stating that it could not process my payment at this time, within 5 minutes I should see it process, if not to contact them. I then checked my bank account and it processed twice. I contacted customer service and the female rep stated you could no longer stop credit card payments. I would have to contact my bank to see if they could stop it or let it process and request a refund. I just call customer service and a male rep stated rudely that I had called in a payment and made a payment online and that is totally a LIE. He stated it could take 2-3 weeks to get a check by mail. I asked if I could use the duplicate payment towards Oct 2023 payment and he said he would put in the request. The only way I could get a response would be by mail. I questioned, why I couldn't get it by email and he kept stating, I could only get it by mail.
Bottom line, your online payment system duplicated my $70 payment. I only entered the payment once and you are penalizing me for your system error.
Desired outcome: Either receive a refund within a week or apply the duplicate payment to Oct 2023.
On line product
I wrote a lengthy one however can not locate now. I did not see this site prior to my order november 2, 2020. This is november 30 and still no product. Whether your a member of bbb or not certain standards as a business must be maintained. My order 77013233, wig, lost in shipment again. Allegedly! I contacted cs on requested full refund to my visa. You need to really reconsider how you treat your customers.. It will not last the way your going.
Bbb complaint id 14999604, even if your not accredited, and now I see why, all those complaints will eventually catch up! I hope the best for you and pray you get it together if not you can not succeed.

I ordered a wig in October and before the completion of the order was told that my order was denied due to owing another associated company (Midnight Velvet). Approximately two weeks later I went to pick up my mail and notice a slip for package pickup. I went to the counter and ask for the key to take the package out of the postal hold box and to my surprise the package was from ASHRO. I immediately took it to the counter and said to the post man please return he gave me directions such as writing on the box return to sender and I did. I called the company and told one of the customer service rep that I returned the package . Later for a total of 108.00 for this wig I was charged 47.00 for restock fee. I tried talking to several of their unprofessional customer representatives and both agree that is their policy. I tried getting help by talking to several legal people and was told to pay it, then fight it to keep from getting a negative credit report. I finally paid it on 1/8/16 and I told the customer rep to close the account . I was told they can not close the account for three months. The total paid as of 1/8/16 is 57.86 for a wig I never took out of the box. This company customer service people are nasty and trained unprofessional robbers. I can never get a manager I personally believe they make you think you are talking to one by transferring your call to their personal friend.

ASHRO has a very short return date-30 days-so if you do not wear an item immediately or wash it to see how it wears, you are out of a significant amount of money plus return fees and interest. Hammacher Schlemmer has a very generous policy and other companies allow for defects and wash and wear problem that are not evident at first.. If you are not 100% sure about something do not buy it. I am African-American and the clothes are too big and are made for women who are obese or overweight. If you look at black women on Soul Train, movies from the 70s, they are not big like today. Even with rear ends that are nicely developed and fuller breasts, Ashro sizes are very generous. They are vanity sizes instead of normal sizes as is the custom in almost all clothes today.

Sold me bad product and now want make me pay late fees etc on a bad product
I bought a wig out of a catalog that was nothing like what was in the book. I called them after having the wig for a month because I did not wear the wig it was in my closet then I decided to wear wig. And when I put the wig on it was the ugliest thing I had ever seen and was nothing like the picture in the book. I called them and they said because I had the wig for a month I would have to pay restocking fees. I told them I should not be responsible for restocking fees when it was not what I ordered. Plus I would have to pay to send it back. Now the wig was 58, I would have to pay 7 or 8 dollars to send it back, then 14% restocking fees when you average that out I would have to pay almost as much as I would pay for the wig. They would not work with me. I ended up throwing the wig away. They are now charging me fees on that account along with the wig that I no longer have or could wear. I paid them 30.00 but now they have tacked on late fees, etc. to the account. I told them I think it is only fair they take the 30.00 and a wig that was not the product I ordered and never wore had to throw away and close the account as paid. They will not work with me, as if I am not trying to pay for a wig or something. Please, 58 dollars that is crazy. I want them to drop the fees and accept my 30.00 payment and close the account.
They treated me the same way. I order a suit and a purse off line, once the item was received, I felt the product looked nothing like the book (VERY POOR QUALITY)! I shipped the product back (paid for that shipping out of my own pocket). In the process I ordered another item to replace the first item. The never shipped the new item; then started billing me and claimed my account was delinquent. I asked them whatever happened to the replacement item, that they failed to ship. Long story, made short, I offered to pay them for the shipping cost which was 21.00 so they would not mess up my credit and refused to pay those hidden fees that they kept adding on to my account. This company needs to be reported to the BBB.

Unethical Sales and Billing Practices
I've been receiving ASHRO catalogs for years. Recently, I decided to open an account and place my first order for two dresses.
Immediately after placing my order in February 2010, I received a communication that one of the two dresses I ordered would not be available until May 2010, months away. I was given the option to wait for the backorder, or, to cancel the order.
I immediately cancelled the order for the dress and indicated that was too long a period to wait for a back order.
Instead of getting a confirmation that the order was cancelled, I received an whiney "please don't cancel" offer to the effect of "Oh please don't cancel, how about if we give you a discount, instead?" I declined the offer, and for the second time, cancelled the order.
I got another email which asked me to reconsider cancelling and giving me up to a 25% discount. Completely irritated now, by this ploy to keep the sales ticket high, I wrote back and immediately cancelled the order for BOTH dresses. I didn't want EITHER dress.
The response was that it was too late to cancel both dresses, because one had been shipped, but, I could return it immediately for credit.
I received the dress on February 22 and returned it immediately, at my own expense. The confirmation tracking number indicates it was delivered to Customer Returns on February 25, 2010.
Now, today, March 22, nearly a month later, I received my first ASHRO billing statement for the account I opened when I purchased the dress. Naturally, it's for the dress I returned immediately, which, incidentially, was of extremely shoddy quality and quite ugly in comparison to the catalog photograph.
What's worse, the statement -- the FIRST statement I've ever received from ASHRO -- shows not only a charge for the dress I returned, but A PAST DUE FINANCE CHARGE ON THE PRODUCTS I RETURNED AT MY OWN EXPENSE.
They now want $97.05 for the dress and $1.42 in interest charges on a dress I had in my hands for 5 minutes. I've already spent $7.80 in postage to return it, I've kept nothing, and they claim I owe them $100.
I knew, from the outset and the way they tried to prevent me from cancelling the order, they'd pull this stunt -- I just could bet money they'd foul it up and they did.

I would recommend that no one attempt to buy by catalog from this company. In January I placed an order for two items for an amount in excess of $200. After numerous phone calls, e-mails to the company and even a letter to the company I was told varying stories by different people about when I would receive my order.
Each time the person I spoke to assured me they were being truthful regarding the shipment date. To date I have received NOTHING and after asking for a refund, I have been told different stories (lies) about when I would receive my check. Last week I spoke to a Michael in Accounting who positively told me that the computer showed my check had been processed on the 17th of April and I would receive it in approx. 4 days. Of course I did not. Yesterday I spoke to Sue in Accounting who said I don't know why someone told you your check had been processed because we will process it in two weeks. This is the scenario I have dealt with from the beginning with Ashro. I think a prerequisite for working for this company is how convincingly one can lie to the customer. They had no problem cashing my check back in April and using my money, but for some reason they can't send me my refund. I am hesitant to say that they "stole" my money, but what does it look like?

Their prices are overpriced, bad quality and very high shipping. They charge you 20 shipping but when you return it, you only pay $4. Go figure
My son bought me a purse for $69.99 from ashro and they charged an additional $18 for shipping fees etc. plus tax total all together $94.13 just to ship one small purse, this place is a ripoff and they mostly only offer African type safari clothes etc. not everyone wear that type of clothing or want that type of home decor, it's a low budget online site with outrageous ridiculous overpriced items and shipping cost and honestly there products worth nothing...
I had a similar experience with this company. First of all, I ordered shoes, but I received a package from the Swiss Colony, whatever that is. Then, I sent back the wrong order and ended up cancelling my order because they could not ship me the shoes in the time frame that I wanted. I don't consider myself a diva, but had it been me, I would have offered to ship the shoes overnight considering that it was their mistake that kept me from getting them in a timely manner. Then, I was charged money to send back the wrong item that I received, even though I had a shipping label emailed to me from the company. The company assured me that I would be receiving a refund from them if I mailed them a copy of the receipt from the shipper's. Still, no refund. It has been about 10 days, so I will give them another week to call and see what they are doing. Kind of like a fly in the ointment, so to speak. In fact, I kind of enjoy checking in with them every so often just to see what I will be told this time. Crazy, huh? That's the kind of world we live in today!
November 30, 2020 ASHRO still conducting bad practices. I filed with BBB there in Wisconsin. I wish I had found this site prior to all the unnecessary tactics this company uses to keep fish poling you in. Promise you benefits to try and delay your decision. Contact BBB and put on file.

I received a call from this company yesterday after making an online purchase on what I know now is a fictitious credit line. I have been on hold for sometime waiting for the representative I spoke to, and they are asking the same questions he asked yesterday. I'm only told there is no record of the call and maybe it was someone from the credit department. I spoke with Jennifer Dorsey, supposed manager and cancelled my order.
Process needs to be fixed desperately!
So glad that i found this post! they keep sending me their catalog. I absolutely HATE their clothes and got tired of them sending me their catalogs. I requested that they stop and they still keep sending them. Afterwards, I got indignant and told them if they keep sending me this TRASHRO, I would be throwing it in the garbage where it belonged. i thought i was establishing a credit account with Assho to help me with my credit with a limit of $400. therefore I did not mind paying for a dress $169 and accessories over $100. I didn't mind paying half. I have found dealing with minitory companies their
services are poor, overpriced and they take advantage of consumer. although i have asked this company to stop sending me their catalogue the refuse. its trash, i didn't get the $400 limit and i will never purchase any thing from that catalogue again, they are a buch of hipocrites and liars when you will receive your product, when they will credit your account and mostly they ship it to you they want you to keep their junk.
