I have Arlo pro 2 cameras with a local base unit and seven day storage, viewable on the app, for several years. This year three cameras died, suddenly. Worked fine one day, didn’t the next. Contacted support and they said the cameras are end of life, no support. But offered me new cameras. I said great, what replaces these cameras and works the same way? None! All require a subscription. The only non subscription option is a base unit that stores files on a usb device that you cannot view from the app, only by removing and plugging into a computer. Ridiculous. I am not paying a subscription fee. I used to recommend Arlo to my friends, now I will warn against buying it.
Recommendation: Steer clear of Arlo. Find a different brand. (Not blink either. They also suck.)
