On 10/18/25, I contacted AOL customer service to attempt to get my account unlocked. I had gotten locked out by their 2 step authenticator system. I could not verify because I had an older version of microsoft authenticator. I have now been locked out of my own email for 4 days, and I am pay AOL for my account. The person I spoke with that day was the rudest, most unhelpful individual I think I have ever dealt with through a customer service line. they were argumentative, and blamed the problem on me and then effectively hung up on me.
Claimed loss: I have been unable to use a service I pay for and need for the last 4 days.
Desired outcome: I want to have access to my email service that I pay for.
