American Transmission & Auto Exchange

I had transmission problems with a used car. I was thinkin' 'bout the car I just bought and the transmission problems it was givin' me, and I was disappointed. I dropped it off at American Transmission and picked it up 3 weeks later. Now, I got a 36-month *** mile warranty on the transmission. So, if anythin' goes bad, I'll bring it right back to AT. Thanks for the repair.

I recently went to American Transmission & Auto Exchange Inc to get my car fixed. Let me tell you, it was a real pain in the butt. First off, their customer service was terrible. The guy at the front desk was rude and didn't seem to know what he was doing. I had to wait forever just to get my car looked at.

When they finally did look at it, they told me that I needed a bunch of expensive repairs. I couldn't believe it! I had just gotten my car serviced a few months ago, and now they were telling me that all this stuff was wrong with it. I felt like they were trying to rip me off.

I decided to get a second opinion, and thank goodness I did. The other mechanic told me that most of the stuff American Transmission & Auto Exchange Inc said I needed was unnecessary. They were just trying to make a quick buck off of me.

Overall, I would not recommend American Transmission & Auto Exchange Inc. Their customer service is terrible, and they try to overcharge you for unnecessary repairs. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

On Aug. 27th, 2020, I had a problem with the inverter water pump in my car. I reminded the operations manager, ***, that my car couldn't sit for more than two weeks because it had a refurbished hybrid battery. I talked to and sent information from Arlington Toyota Parts Dept. at the time of the repair, there were plenty of inverter water pumps available to prevent it from sitting too long. I had to pay Hybrid Battery $200 (a fee for sitting around too long) because my 2008 White Prius didn't move early enough, so the battery had to be replaced with another refurbished one. This is not good for business. I want a $200.00 check or cash from American Transmission. I told *** that I have extra medical expenses to pay off. Thanks

I called everyday to check on my car and discuss the budget. If the repairs exceeded a certain amount, I didn't want to pay more and would consider getting another car. The owner's son assured me that this issue would be resolved. When I received my car, I reminded them that I wouldn't pay if there were any problems down the street. Unfortunately, there was an issue, so I went back to the shop. The receptionist took 29 minutes to call the manager, while I stood there waiting. She was on a personal call, laughing and talking sweetly. Finally, the manager came out to see me after an extra 30 minutes. We spoke, and he claimed that I only asked him to start the car when I made the complaint, which is not true. I had aftermarket parts installed, but I never agreed to pay over a thousand dollars just to have my car break down again. He didn't care and refused to do any free work.
