I ordered a book from Alibris Books via the Walmart website. Yesterday, the post office indicated the book was delivered to the address I provided them, but it was NOT HERE! I searched every doorway in case the postal worker brought the item to the door. IT WAS NOT HERE! The search happened 10 minutes, after it had been marked delivered. I noticed the delivered notice said it was left at a parcel locker. WE HAVE NO PARCEL LOCKER HERE! So I went out to the Post Office and got tge phone number of the Post Master General's office and reported the problem to them. The clerk told me the tracking number had another address listed, not mine. So she said to have the company ( Alibris) call them to discuss the descrepancy. Meanwhile, Alibris sent a message that the address they used was what I gave them. It IS NOT. They were told to call the Post Master General's number to inquire what address is there. I have informed them I will be sending this complaint on to the Iowa Attorney General's office who can investigate this and request what address was used. This is the WORST form of customer service I have encountered. Something seems awry with all of this!
Recommendation: Proceed with caution as the bypassed what was recommended to them to research where this book was sent. They are insisting it was delivered.
I have reached out to Walmart and no such resolution exists with them
They are saying the incorrect address lies on your end. At any rate, I will inform them tomorrow (48 hours) when the package does not arrive since the post office has stated the address used is not mine. So somewhere an incorrect address was generated while I was charged for this item not received. I will proceed with great caution in the future when purchasing items online because accountability is not present like it is with a local merchant. Lesson learned, the hard way.
