Hello,

I have purchased a ticket online from EWR to HYD on www.airindia.com website from United States using the Credit Card issues in USA but I was charged a Foreign Transaction Fee.

I tried to call many times the New York City Office of AirIndia and whoever picks the phone are usually very rude while talking and before even I try to explain the subject matter I am calling for, They would transfer me to their general customer service and they in turn request to call City Office in New York. This is like never ending loop.

When I have purchased a ticket here in USA using my Credit card issues in US, then whey would I be charged with a Foreign Transaction fee. Credit Card company says, you will have to call Your Merchant to discuss this fee but I cant reach AirIndia at all.

My email id is [protected]@yahoo.com I can provide all the details of purchase on demand by AirIndia Authority.

Please look into this.

I have booked a round trip ticket from Air India site using Credit card issued here. There fares were listed in US $ and hence I pain in dollars. I never though that it need to be pain in INR or any Foreign Transaction Fee is involved. Now I see my card has been charged with 3% on top as Foreign Transaction Fee. Not sure why we should pay extra when we paid in the currency what was asked to pay and showing on the Air India site. Please suggest how to get this reverted.

Same with me. Purchased tickets in U.S but credit card company charged 3%. This is ridiculous! They should better show the note in detail when we are about to book the ticket. Its high time they work on their website to make it user friendly than business friendly...

Same with me. They charged FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEE $118. They never said anything about this fee while purchasing tickets. Air India does have offices in US and they show the ticket price in dollars not in rupees. When they run their business in US, why charge this huge foreign transaction fee. They either show us this fee while buying the ticket or refund it.

I had the same issue. I booked the air ticket from http://www.airindia.com website and paid it with my US credit card. But I'm surprised to see the foreign transaction fee charged on my credit card. I don't understand why Air indIa charges in $ and then makes the bank to charge this fee. Its reallY BAD with Air India.
