Aflac defamation

I worked for Aflac for 4 years. I was a National Convention qaulifier amongst many other fancy awards.
I had to quit this company because the way we were enrolling people for a large account I had was unethical.
When I left the company, they people in my upline apparently defamed my name and made up lies to make themselves look better. What a shame. These people were teaching us how to do this type of enrollment and then had the nerve to say the meanest things about me when I decided to walk away from their scam. The client called me up to tell me what they said.
We are currently sending our complaints and seeking top notch representation.
Aflacs main attorney is trying to swindle his way out of the defamation part by stating State and Regional coordinators are independent contractors...but we all know that isnt the 100% truth. Aflac appoints these folks to leadership roles and tells them to soley represent Aflac. Then these individuals are to go down to our accounts and take them over when we leave. Then they go and destroy an agents name? they cost me a job because of the crazy things they said. My name is now tarnished in this business and they think they can just step all over me? not going to happen.
We are going to the department of insurance and are considering making signs and marching outside since Aflac did not want to take responsibility for the damage they caused.
good luck folks- stay away from this company. It is a strange pyramid. The attorney we met with last week was too expensive. i am meeting with a different one in Atlanta tomorrow. Aflac will be exposed.

My name is Sonia Lewis and I have been an Independent Agent with AFLAC since 2009. During this time, my Regional and District coordinators changed frequently and the level of leadership was very questionable. I was one of very few people of color, specifically Black and I often wondered why. There is a "good old boys system" within the leadership structure and with agents. There is a lot of stealing of accounts and no legitimate assistance for helping agents build their book of business. I was sold a dream that is far from possible without the right structures and support from upper management being in place and investing time in agent development. I want to sue AFLAC or at least my local organization who has managed to push me out by serving me with a 30 day notice, not once but twice. The new management has used unethical and unprofessional methods to communicate desired outcomes to agents, specifically veteran agents. I have a lot to share with an attorney who can sift through a lot of information that has transpired over the past 8 years. From racial biases, gender biases to basic general practices like but not limited to taking account from new agents and so much more. I need someone to listen to the litany of issues and complaints that I witnessed/experienced first hand. I can be contacted at sonialewis37@yahoo.com

The complaints need to be made toward individual coordinators/agents. Not AFLAC. AFLAC is a great company and has been an unbelievable experience for me for the year and half I've been with the company. Are there unethical people within the organization? Of course. But the company? Does the right thing. In my opinion you are defaming ethical agents which are by far the majority, at least in my state, which is Tennessee by the way. All businesses have a pyramid structure of leadership. Pyramid has a negative connotation because of the schemes that circulate where people just pass money around. This is not a pyramid scheme just like other businesses are not. Look, selling AFLAC is no different than other jobs, it ain't for everybody. I along with many others are making an honest living doing it the right way and just supporting our families and working hard. It would be nice if people didn't try to hurt others because of their inability or sour grapes or whatever it REALLY is.

Reading these stories makes me laugh. This scenarios can be ANYwhere... law office... doctors office... police station. By golly, we have sexual harassment EVERYwhere! Regarding the unethical writing of business, that is ridiculous. As agents under our State Dept. of Insurance, we vow to NOT write shady business. Why fall in with the rats and go with the flow? Report them! That is what you are suppose to do! Are there unethical agents? Of course! As there is crooked lawyers, corrupt cops and shady politicians! You all make it sound like AFLAC is a shady company where all corrupt and liars work! Get real people! We are held to a higher accountability of ethics. If you see it going on, then REPORT IT! Our SSC does NOT tolerate unethical practices. Do we fame always? No. Do we win against other States? Not always! But our business is flawless, our policyholders are taken care of and we are able to sleep at night. Aflac is an ethical company who want ethical agents! And regarding their claim paying, I have seen them pay BEYOND what the policy states. Why? Because they can!

An Aflac Agent lies! I was an agent for this company. While being trained, I worked with an agent who would do anything to sell a policy. ANYTHING. There is a specific exclusion in AFLAC's policies regarding auto racing. He would tell people it only counted if you were racing for money. I called AFLAC, and they said it applied even if you were injured as a spectator walking through the pits!
Sexual harassment is common in this company. Just ask the former SSC of Iowa, who was sued by his admin for sending her naked pictures of himself. How about one of his former RSC's who was alternated between telling his admin she was so fat he was going to send her to Weight Watchers, or that she didn't wear clothing tight enough to show off her t*ts.
AFLAC stinks! Run away from this company as fast as you can!

I don't know who your State Sales Training Coordinator was, but I have never heard another agent speak about his Aflacexperience with stories like yours. First, most first year agents don't make alot of money. Second, we are never encouraged to lie or make things up. Aflac has a fraud unit, and if you experience or know about fradulent activity, you are supposed to report it. I'm surprised you didn't do that since it is on the agent website and there are often postings to remind agents of their ethical duty to report fraud.

I worked for aflac for a year in marriottsvile, and i enjoyed making big $$$, but i got to the point were i was seeing these poor old people that im trained to enroll and seeing their struggling eyes.. I want teveryone to know that AFLAC IS A SCAM.
We are trained to tell people about fake claims, and FAKe insidences that supposedly occured "the last holiday" and everyone is trained to say the same thing, so people start to think about it amd we hand out fake diagrams and fake previous claims that the potential customers start believing after a preasuring presentation..
so a lot of people end up signing up a for that we are telling will not be submitted untill we get an answer the next day, but the agents enter it anyway and make it all finalized.
then they are telling everyone that due to an irs law, they can not cancel for a year and they are locked in. these customers try to get out, but they are locked in because they employer is worried about the irs laws and does not let them get out of it. their only way out it through termination..
PEOPLE, IVE been there, and DONE THIS
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE THIS MORE CLEAR
they pay out, but 80% of the things are not covered once it actually occurs.
and yes some people do get a nice payout, but that was a 1 time case in the year that i worked there, and bu the way, I worked in the STATE headquarters and out office was #1 in thge country.
sorry for the grammer erroe, just typing on a lunch break at my new office job.

First of all AFLAC does not charge according to your wages, if you are referring to the disabilty policy, you are eligible to purchase units based on our annual income before overtime. If they lowered your units it is because you did not give your correct annual income. When you file a disability claim our emplyer has to fill out a claim form which asks what your base salary is before overtime and if it is less than what AFLAC has on record then they will lower your units to coincide with your income. I am just commenting on what you wrote, if there is more to it let me know. I too live in Louisiana and I am familiar with all of the policies that are offered in this state by AFLAC and this compaint that you have written about can only pertain to the disability. I would get all of your facts straight before filing complaints and lawsuits. Also, if you were under the assumption that you could be covered by disabilty to include your overtime income the one to blame is the agent that signed you up, they must not know that they are doing or didn't explain it well enough.

I am also seeking an attorney to represent me in a wrongful termination suit based on an implied employee/employer relationship (though we are deemed independent contractors but if in management not treated as such) against Aflac. Any assistance in providing name(s) of an attorney firm that has successfully won a court case or out-of-court settlement in such an action would be greatly appreciated. I can't leave details here as if they get wind of this, my contract will be cancelled and renewals terminated, as is their standard practice if/when someone complains of such treatment. Please help.. anybody?

My name is Frank Collatt. I am from Abbeville, Louisiana, and I also have had my share of problems with AFLAC. I now have a retained attorney who is investigating claim(s) of AFLAC charging a Premium based on your Gross Pay, yet when and if benefits are paid out, they want to drop your "units" to your base pay and/or lower. Then they hold payments for a long time before they actually pay them out. I am not alone with this complaint, and I also know several people that worked for AFLAC, and have heard their horror stories during their employment, as well as after they left AFLAC.

My phone number is [protected] ClassAdvocate if you will be kind enough to call, maybe we can assist each other with these matters. I also was mis-led, and remain 100% disabled. You may call anytime between
8am and 10pm central time. I will be more than happy to discuss this matter with you, as well as inform you as to who my attorney is. My attorney has also talked to the State of Louisiana Insurance Commissioner, as well as other attorneys, and I do not plan to drop this matter at any cost. Thank you

Sincerely,
Frank Collatt

Aflac not paying disability claims

I purchased disability insurance through aflac through my employer. I was assurred that god forbid anything ever happen to me and i had to be out on disability that this insurance would help me and make up for some of my lost wages. Well, this past january i had a medical emergency that put me out of work for about 4 months. Needless to say i filed my claim with aflac to collect my disability payments and all i did was get the run around. I had to request all of my own medical records from the hospital to prove that this was no a pre - existing condition, this went on for all for months back and forth. Well, finally i recieved a check from them for only 20 days of the 4 months i have been out of work. It took 4 months to get paid for 20 days who knows how long it's going to take to get paid for the entire 4 months i was off of work? Still getting the run around all they do is tell you one lie after another to pass time so that they can hold on to their money as long as they can! I do not recommend anyone investing their hard earned money into this company. Take it from me and the others that have posted their complaints here, they will not be there for you when you need them. But they will be knocking on your door for their premiums every month! The company that i work for has over 200 employees and i have let everyone there know about what they have done to me and incourage them to cancel their policies.

I am going through the same thing, I had 2 seperate surgeries performed with one surgical intervention on April 28th. AFLAC has given me the run around for months, since May 09 also. One surgery was for a pre-existing condition that I was already scheduled to have surgery for. Before the surgery I developed a new non pre-existing issue that also needed surgery. Both surgeons agreed it was in my best interest to do both with one opening then to have me opened twice. When I appealled based on the new issue not being pre-existing they told me to have my surgeon write a letter to that regard and they would approve it. I got the letter, then they wanted something else, this has gone on for months. Each time I prove what they wanted they find something else for me to do. Now they want a doctor to explain something from my surgical notes that they have had since May 25th, now they have a question about that. This has gotten to the point where I feel I am being harassed by AFLAC, I have proven over and over again that the new condition was not pre-existing, letters from doctors, EOB's, c-scan results, meeting with a representative and now they come up with another thing. AFLAC as far as I am concerned is a legalized savings account for a corporation, they dont keep their word and they make everything difficult. I have lost so many hours from work to leave and get letters from doctors, spend hours on the phone and drive all over the place for their newest request. I was out for 4 weeks and my doctor even wrote a letter that I was out that long because of the non pre-existing part of the surgery. Trust me dont spend your hard earned money with this company and their duck, go with a customer caring company like Colonial (aflac's biggest competition), AFLAC is a bunch of quacks !

Aflac refusal to pay on claim

I purchased aflac for the peace of mind that if i ever got sick or injured i would maintain 80% of my income and get some benifits related to the injury or sickness, i managed to get injured and now after a month of run around they are refusing to pay my wage supplement and the surgury benifit, the question is what is a hernia? Is it an accident or an injury? They claim its neither and do not want to pay, why should anyone pay for insurance thaty will not cover them? I am filing a legal claim for all my premiums paid, and the wage and injury benifit, i want to own that f&* (^ duck when i am done, aflac is a scam!

I sneezed and threw my back out. I had a hard time getting Aflack to settle up for my week of lost wages. I tried to file a complaint with bbb they would not get involved. I contacted the state insurance regulation board and finally got a check. I feel Aflack wants a reputation they don't deserve. I still have a policy with aalack because i feel all insurance companies have the same policy deny, deny, deny until you get a state agency or an attorney involved and force them to pay !

I am a single mom who was diagnosed with a rare, genetic cancer at age 32. I had signed up for AFLAC at work. I ended up having 12 surgeries, being in the hospital for around 5 months, and AFLAC always paid for every single treatment and hospital stay. No hassles. I think some people don't read their policies or take the time to file a proper claim. My experience with this company has always been positive.

I am reading some of the complaints/reviews it is utterly discussing that some of you think people don't read their policy. I have read and read my policy and nothing has happen. They lie and lie but if they don't get the your payment, its a big problem. How dare anyone pass judgement, just because you got paid without the hassles that others are enduring. It's really bad I had surgery on 08/28/15, yet to receive anything from them. I keep signing the same paperwork over and over. So don't just everyone because you didn't have any problems. You're one of the few that got paid without a fight.

Terry wilson/ nashville, tn.
I slipped a disc in my lower back 1/10/15. On 1/15/15 I was taken out of work for 7 days by an orthopedic. I faxed the proper aflac forms then aflac sent by mail a request for my 2013 w2 tax info I faxed my tax return. A week later I called aflac they informed me I faxed the wrong information. No one from aflac bothered to let me know. I faxed my 2013 w2 form on 2/14/15. On 2/20/15 I call aflac they verify they received the 2013 w2 forms. On saturday 2/21/15 I receive a letter 2nd request for 2013 w2 form. The letter was dated 2/11/15 the envelope the letter was mailed in was dated 2/17/15. Ok my point aflac claims to pay most claims in 4 days if it takes them 6 days to get a letter they typed in the mail then there is no way they can pay in 4 days. I used to feel secure having aflac now I'm just scared they will financialy ruin me if I have a serious accident!

AFLAC is a waste of money! I was diagnosed with a right side ing. hernia in Sept. that happened while I was moving shelving in my garage at home. The problem happened on a sat. went to my dr on Monday (had annual check up that day already). Dr checked and referred me to a surgeon. Had the repair done and had the surgeon submit the claim for me. The claim was denied saying they needed a copy of the chart notes from the first dr, and a diagnosis code showing hernia due to bodily injury. I got the notes from the dr. and asked about the diagnosis code. As per my dr. there is no such code. So I appealed the claim and submitted the notes. The claim was denied again! They tell me it's not in the notes (it was). and there is no proof it was an accident. How are you supposed to prove that? Maybe the duck needs to watch you.. who knows.
As I told them on the phone I do plan on telling my 10, 000 coworkers what a waste of money this plan is.

I have filed 3 accident claims in 3 years, 2 for my husband, 1 fir me. All ER visits. I think if you claim a broken bone or other injury, you have to have gotten treatment and filed claim within 1 year. It cannot be pre-existing. If you're filing for short term disability for childbirth, the policy has to be in effect 9 months. Read, read, read your policy! I have 3, and have read them from cover to cover. Thst way, i know ALL the requirements. If it is a work injury (a hernia from unloading boxes at work is a WORK INJURY, THERE FOR IT IS A WORK COMP ISSUE). not sure if AFLAC pays for work comp. But see it from their viewpoint... you say it was am accident caused at work unloading boxes and you didn't file the REQUIRE REPORTS to the employer, yet you want AFLAC to pay you JUST BECAUSE YOU SAY SO? DUH, i wouldnt be surprised when they didn't pay . wow...

I broke my nose in May 2013, was seen in the ER, provided them with the visit note and later ENT note with plan to do surgery. Because an Xray was not done at the time of ER visit, (my nose was obviously broken) they are refusing to pay for facial bone fracture under accident policy. They are asking for a CT. It is too late. I have submitted 4 Dr's notes saying I have a fractured nose!

My experience with my clients is the opposite, they tell me about all the exciting moments of receiving checks from AFLAC quickly. AFLACT: 70 cents out of every dollar AFLAC is paid out. My suggestion is have your agent contact AFLAC to find out what the proper documentation is needed. Or call AFLAC direct at 1-800-go-aflac

Aflac crap customer service & require social security number on everything

First of all this company hires the stupidest females anywhere. They kept asking for my social security number even after I quoted a few HIPPA Laws. Then the long delays in paying my claims. They want the receipt, description of my medicine and bank statement showing I paid for it. I hate this company and the idiots that work there. It's a waste of time. Better off finding another company that offers similar service. I plan to file a complaint with the H.S. Department of Health & Human Services http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/psa/complaint/index.html I suggest others do the same.

Aflac doesn't cover prescriptions. HIPPA doesn't cover anything about social security numbers. It's only about how your medical information is handled. Aflac wouldn't ask for your bank statement to show you bought medicine because it is not a covered benefit. So what is this about? It doesn't make sense. Sorry.

Contact your agent... you can get the info from your boss. Because of tax laws, your aflac policy is not supposed to be cancelled mid plan year unless you leave the company. Your boss can authorize it to be ok for you to cancel but you both would need to talk to your agent about that.

Aflac not paying / incompetence

I have had a heart attack and severe stroke. I have tried to collect on my aflac insurance policy for almost 2 months. All i keep getting is the run around. Like they need additional information all the time and keep putting this claim off. Even the hospital said there is not anymore medical records to be sent. They have sent aflac everything they possibly could. The stress from having to deal with aflac i believe the stress from dealing with aflac is gonna throw me into another possible heart attack or stroke. The whole reasoning behind me getting aflac was for exactly this reason that i should be covered. Now they are not wanting to pay out and i am endanger of loosing my home and vehicle that i have worked for my entire life which is very stressful to me. It is simply they do not want to pay!

I had a partial nephrectomy due to a mass they found on my kidney and I filed a claim but they said since it wasn't found to be a spreading cancer tumor they don't cover that. I got aflac to cover situations like this. I got the accident and also critical illness and they wouldn't pay anything to me. I was hospitalized and had surgery to get it removed and was also out of work for 6 weeks to recover. I am very VERY disappointed in aflac. They make billions of dollars and won't pay out on a claim because it ended up being a very rare carcinoma that isn't one that spreads cancer.

Aflac is a horrible company... average wait time on the phone is around 1.5 hours. We couldn't reach them by phone last week and were forced to set an appointment time for a call back. That was Thursday and our first option was today, Wednesday the following week. They gave us the option of Tuesday on the recording (right, you never speak with real people), but when we asked for Tuesday they set it for Wednesday at 10:15 AM. It's currently 11:03 and still no call. I tried calling again, and once again it's over an hour wait time. My mom passed several months ago and we have been trying to stop the drafts, but it's virtually impossible to reach anyone with that company. Read all the reviews on all of the sites, not just this one.. they are consistently rated poor by customers AND people who work for them! A consistent poor record... and as I read the responses from their reps in the threads above, even these people are shooting back and arguing, and placing all the blame on the clients! Read the responses, sounds like they are trained to constantly respond to nothing but complaints, they sound extremely defensive! LOL... horrendous company!

First off my frustration with AFLAC started many years ago. My wife and I pay them alomost 2k a year. A few years back I had a Heat Stroke / Heat Exhaustion which nearly killed me. They though I had brain damage and a blood clot in my lungs as well. Took me over three months to recover and get back to work. We called them and they said it was not covered because they "viewed heat stroke as a diliberate act". Boy was I pissed. Fast forward to now. I got hurt and require surgery and will be out of work for up to a month. Call them back to submit claim. I was told I will get a $125.00 payout. That's a joke.

I have short term disability with Aflac and just have surgery in July I have been calling customer service every day since the 16th of July in regards to my claim. After ten days and three faxes from my doctors office they stated my claim was good and going to an auditor today I call and was informed that I am now waiting for my agent to give them info on my claim. The person I spoke to today said that since I went to my doctor last June in regards to having this surgery it is per existing but needless to say I have been paying for short term for two years now. I'm sure that your duck is being taken care of during his rehab my bills need payed and I'm not getting anything from your company I just my have to rethink my enrollment next year Cjs

Meggs, I'm sorry for what you and your fiance is going through. I am not trying to sound rude but you are trashing the company but you are not giving any specific details. Alot of factors can affect a claim and policy. When did the policy go into effect? Initial disability claim forms has only one page for the employer and two pages for the physician. If there are further information needed other than date then they have to make sure there were no pre-existing conditions. The first thing you should do is read the policy very well. When a person signs up for a policy there are questions on the policy application that must be answered. The answers to these questions determine whether or not a person can be issued a policy. These questions and requirements on policy eligibility can differ from policy to policy and state to state. For example if the policy application asks if the person to be covered has been treated for diabetes in the last 12 months and the answer selected is no and then a policy is issued based on the information provided. Then when a claim is filed and the information indicates that the person was treated for diabetes then they have to request further information to make sure the policy was completed correctly. Once they get all the information needed they will pay if it is a valid claim. However, if medical records indicate the application was completed incorrectly, and if the questions had been answered correctly, it would not have been issued in the first place. If this happens then usually the policy will be canceled as if it was never issued and a full refund is given to the policyholder for all premiums paid minus any claims that were paid if any. How is this Aflac's fault because the policyholder did not answer the application correctly. When you sign up for a policy you should always listen carefully and make sure you understand the questions when you answer. Once a policy is issued and you get your copy you should READ YOUR POLICY! and it also usually has a copy of your application and you should read it carefully to make sure that it was answered correctly and that the agent marked the correct answers you told them. If you get a lawyer make sure you have a copy of your policy. If you go in front of a judge and the judge sees a copy of the policy, the policy application and the medical records he or she will want to know why you are wasting his or her time.

I'm not trying to be rude but I've noticed in several different business that most customer complaints are unwarranted! This includes myself. That is why anytime I have a complaint with any business, I always remain calm and polite. When you show people respect they are more willing to help with what they have the power to help with.

I've noticed with many businesses, most customers with legitimate complaints are usually more polite, understand and respectful. While most customers with invalid complaints are normally the loudest and rudest people ever. It is difficult to help people like that.

my fiance was diagnose with a dibilitating disease and has an aflac poilcy he filed his claim in june '10, here we are in november '10 and still no decision on his disabilty claim. He has now been out of work for over 6 months. Aflac kept asking for more and more medical records, they all have been provided by ALL of his doctors. Now they just keep saying the poilcy is in review, and he should have an answer within a few days, they have been saying that since sept '10. Oh and i failed to mention that they are still with drawing over $100 out of his account each month, but if he cancels the policy then they will deny his claim! Aflac is awful, i will never recommend them to anyone! bills are going unpaid, credit is ruined, and savings is gone! next step is for us to get a lawyer!

WJE,
First I am very sorr for our loss and frustration. I have been with AFLAC for 11 years, if you would like I would be more that happy to help you. Typically one of the first things that AFLAC will need is the death certificate. Also, was there a will? My email address is canell_shanna@yahoo.com. I have no problem giving you a phone number to contact me, but I do not want to give it in this setting. I will need some more information in order to look into this for you. I help people everyday and I love what I do and I love AFLAC. I understand your frustration with this matter as I have gotten frustrated myself with situations involving a policyholder passing away, but ALFAC does have guidlines to follow and they have to follow certain laws. Now that being said it usually is easier for an agent to get things done, all of my clients know that I handle all of their claims myself, I do not want them to have to deal with headquarters, not because of problems, but when I sell a policy I sell a promise and my promise is to be here when they need me and to live up to what I told them. Servicing to me is what I get paid to do.

Aflac is the worst company I have ever dealt with because they will give you no other phone number than their customer service number. My brother-in-law passed away in October. A claim was filed with Aflac and it was paid promptly but, I believe, in error. I have read the policy multiple times and dispute the payment amount. I am the power of attorney for my sister, the widow, who is in a nursing home. There is no executor because the estate was too small to probate. The widow inherited everything. Aflac customer service reps will not discuss the claim with me at all because they don't understand what to do when there is no estate executor. I sent all of the information they requested, multiple times, and the customer service department sent it on to their legal department. It has been over two months. I call regularly. They will not give me a phone number for the legal department. They will not let me speak to the customer service supervisor. They will not respond to my letters. One morning my wife called and a customer service rep. told her he would speak to me but not her. That afternoon, when I called, I was told they couldn't discuss the policy with me because the legal department had not yet reviewed my POA.
(This is a very old policy and I can't locate the agent who may have passed.) If anyone has a name and phone number that I can call to get to a person who will check into my situation, I would appreciate getting it. WJE

I have been a purchaser of many products and services and know that the presentations give by sales reps sounds good but its up to the people the purchaser to read what they are signing and have knowledge of things before they purchase. Aflac pays claims everyday. They save houses and keep families afloat. There are so many great stories about Aflac but there are also some that did not understand the entirety of their policies in the beginning and therefore are having problems. There is no delay processing with claims if there are problems like stated above additional documentation is needed for the claim; there is a app that is to be completed with any insurance policy issuance. There is a section in policies that indicate everything and every issue that anyone above is having that will give you answers to your questions. If you were expecting disability and don't have a disability policy you won't be paid for disability, someone at Aflac can help you whether its getting the additional information needed for your claim or explaining your policy to you you just have to be willing to listen and understand that your complaint is probably not valid after reading the policy verbiage. I am living proof Aflac pays you just have to get the correct policies that apply for you and read and learn about that policy. And for the denied torn muscle the $145 is payment for your incident but you should read your policy and you will see and understand why you received the payment that you did. Your complaint was not justified. Aflac pays valid claims and per the policy language.

Sorry, but there is more to your claim than you are letting on. If you truly had an injury, they would pay for the first visit and any other follow up visits up to a stated maximum number. If you want to be paid specifically for a torn muscle, I refer you to your policy language. It does NOT state that torn muscles qualify for a lump sum injury benefit. Also, you state you have been out of work for 2 weeks. The Accident policy is NOT a Disability policy; it doesn't pay you for days out of work; only for doctors visits, surgery and hospitalization. I'm sorry that you didn't read your policy after you bought it, but there is no scam here. Just someone who didn't bother to read what he had bought.

Aflac bad service!

An AFLAC agent gave a presentation at my wife's place of employment a while back, and after the meeting, she approached him about purchasing insurance to cover lost income due to maternity leave. Co-workers had signed up for similar benefits, and had been satisfied with the service, so my wife was interested in signing up, as we were about to start trying to have our first child. They visited about this for some time, and she made it clear that the lost income was what she was interested in protecting during maternity leave. She signed up for what she believed were these particular benefits.

After some time (the 10 month period stated in the policies is not an issue) she became pregnant. I reviewed her materials and found documentation concerning (1) A Voluntary Indemnity Plan, which is a hospital confinement indemnity policy; and (2) A Personal Sickness Indemnity Plan, which is also a hospital confinement sickness indemnity policy; and (3) A Personal Disability Income Protector, which is a short-term disability insurance policy.

As I was reviewing the documents, my heart sank when I looked at the receipt. The agent checked the first two, the Voluntary Indemnity Plan and the Personal Sickness Indemnity Plan. Basically, these are the same policy with a little less benefits for one than the other. However, the language is exactly the same. Some benefits are provided regarding pregnancy, it appears, but not the one thing that was the key to us, which was her income. Long story short: The agent seemingly checked the wrong box and signed us up for the wrong policy that began with the word 'Personal.'

I have read a few of the reports on here, and I have no evidence of wrongdoing at the moment. I think it's just a foul up by the agent. Otherwise, it would make no sense for my wife to basically take out two of the precise same policies. Anyone had any luck in such a situation? Although I think it is fairly clear what was intended, and the premiums are virtually the same, I do not necessarily anticipate AFLAC just doing the right thing and applying our premiums to the policy that we really intended to purchase. The results will be a resulting serious economic hardship that we thought we were doing our best to avoid.

These people were teaching us how to do this type of enrollment and then had the nuts to say the oddest things about me when I decided to walk away from their scam.
We are going to the department of insurance and are considering making signs and marching outside since Aflac did not want to take responsibility for the damage they caused.
good luck folks- stay away from this company. It is a strange pyramid.

I am alarmed that folks would freely post complaints without contating the company directly allowing them the opportunity to address discrepancies. I believe it is simply too easy to bad mouth companies without offering them the opportunity to correct the core issue.

I am a licensed Insurance agent and have seen this problem over and over again by Aflac agents. I know I was contracted with them for about 2 months before I cancelled my agreement with them.
You absolutely have a claim against the agent. That is why we as insurance agents carry errors and ommissions insurance. It is like malpractice insurance. If we make a mistake you the policy holder do not have to suffer for it.

Aflac refuse to pay on covered claim

I purchased aflac through my company with the understanding if i become disabled i would be paid 80% of my income. I was recently put on bedrest by my doctor. Im unable to work and can not support my family. Aflac has denied my covered claim after losing paperwork and sitting on my claim for over a month.
This company is a fraud. The lie and give others a false security. Do not give this company your hard earned money. I would have been better off putting the money i paid them in the bank. At least i would have had something!

Let me tell you about Aflac and how bad of a company it is. The first liar of Aflac is your Rep. They tell you that they will help you and lead you through any claims which is a lie. They don't tell you that you have to be to a doctor within 72 hours or they will deny your claim. I broke my back luckily I was at the doctor within 24 hours. I had every policy of Aflac for years. That included disability hospitalization injury all of them. I ended up in the hospital for a week had to file for disability since Aflac is nothing but a lie. This is what you need to know and what I've learned after filing over and over for a year and a half. They will give you the runaround for months until you finally see emails that your claim has been accepted unfortunately nothing will ever show up. On the 5th week after you submitted your claim and saw that it was accepted they will claim to have no knowledge of your claim. Aflac clears their computer every 30 days that way they can always say they don't have your claim and keep playing that game until you give up. The worst thing anyone can do with Aflac is collect the $25 check to go see a doctor. People think it's a cool thing to have $25 from Aflac and feel safe that they will be taken care of but that is the biggest false $25 there is. When you cash that $25 you accepted their contract to that day whether they pay you or not you signed off on the dotted line by cashing that check that you or satisfied with their services and they owe you nothing more. If you never cash that check you can at least fight for your money back because they didn't do what they were supposed to do but that's about as good as it gets with Aflac. They will never pay you more than you paid them. Very few people collect from them when it's time to really collect when you get injured like you did. They bank on people not using them or giving up on them. They are a one-star company. Do not believe your rep or his boss or her boss because they are all in on it. You collecting from Aflac hurts them somehow or that's the notion I received from the reps who worked with me they were nothing but liars and kept giving me the runaround and guiding me in the wrong direction. I got hurt in 2018 and have yet to been paid by Aflac for an injury policy hospital policy disability policy every policy I've yet to pay me a dime. The government even saw my back reports after breaking it for the third time and disabled me but Aflac will never pay It was the biggest waste of money. I actually saw a TV commercial ones with that white duck and they were announcing that they pay on the same day and I threw my phone through my flat screen TV. That's how it worked up I get when I see Aflac and the liars that they are. I hope the information I gave you knowing that they clear out their computers every 30 days will save you some run around time. Go straight to the people directly at Aflac to not use any agents to help you you have to pound at the company as hard as you can use the knowledge I just gave you against them. Do your research on a complaint site. Most of all file a better business bureau complaint against them. That seems to get their attention the fastest. I just gave up. It wasn't worth it for me any longer to fight against a company that is the dirtiest company in the world in my book.

I need to jump into this Aflac as This company has ruined my life. I have been fighting 3 years now to get 15 claims and way more . The only thing aflac does great is collect premiums. They even refuse to cancel this non working service and continue to start committing fraud on your credit card. Do not make the mistake of autopay and hope to stop when you realize you have been ripped off for years. I have full time help that I can't even pay after having horrible luck and broke my back for a third time. I had surgery last year and still need another. I might have been able to manage my business of 28 years if I had money coming in to pay my bills with this BS advertisement of same day pay. How about everything ever asked of me 20 times over to get emails for the 10th time that say your claim has been accepted but due to security reason we cannot mention the nature of your claim online. a letter will come to you with the information . Then nothing happens the whole piece of lies and garbage starts all over. I have worked on my story that is going public to all media outlet. The biggest liars and stallers of all are your agents or at least mine were. I read all of this before I got hurt and kept asking my agent the same questions the she has never answered. I told them when they did both presentations in my office they were being recorded on surveillance so they needed to be accurate on their answers. It was sort of a joking comment but my questions were so detailed as they seem to yes everything and make it sound so easy. After being in business 28 years and kicking Aflac out of my office at least once a year . They just did not seem to fit what I needed in case something happened. ^ years ago I crushed my hand with a forklift. Drove myself to the ER . I happen to know the top hand surgeon in the state if not country. She saved my butt when I was a teenager and again 6 years ago. she told me not to let then cut it off, just get a plastic surgeon to try and make it look like a hand and she will rebuild it. She did exactly that but it took a year of surgeries. That scared me enough to get supplemental insurance since I am raising my daughters myself. Aflac said all the right thing but delivered nothing. The more I read about this company being a scam the more I told my agent I was not comfortable giving that company that much money . She played me worst then all. I heard it all. I would not let a father I respect so much waste his money. to we are a fortune 500 company to my friend all get covered . Still never answered my first questions still played around throwing smoke screens on small claims that were never paid except the $25 BS doctor visit that no one should ever cash. That locks you into accepting their service you paid. perfect example after my first surgery when I was disabled and ran out of lies and excuses she actually offered me my money back which was substantially lower than what they owed me. I said ok I would rather take that then deal with yours and your companies lies forever. Then she changed it to I mean we can give you your money back to your last claim. lies again. I said that's fine I never cashed your $25 check. I read a while back from a previous agent never to make that mistake so yes I'll take the refund since you have not gotten one claim handled in over a year. Then the lies a BS got thicker. Here came the I'll walk you through everything fortune 500 blah blah blah. When they ran my company out of business I made sure to get her my credit card info so she couldn't use my payments as an excuse. She sat on that over a month with 4 email of mine saying I'm not seeing the aflac charges on my card what are you up to now. She responded your policy expired I can't do anything for you. That's funny I just recieved in the mail today from aflac that my company was no longer paying but to keep going without interruptions I had 30 days from now to set up payment. Then she tried several more lies to try and tell my what I paid for without skipping a beat was not going to be covered. Only i read all the complaints and tricks they would use I read the policies over and over making sure I understood everything she avoided telling me everytime I put her on the spot and asked the questions. Finally she just ignored after I sent her recording that I started conversations with this is being recorded. Her emails of lies and contradictions . Some other agent took over for her I already knew this guy would be a waste of time. i tried getting info on their dental policy for 6 weeks then this jerk says we don't really sell many of these. You couldn't tell me you were this useless 6 weeks ago? My friend took over as Aflac literally was putting me in the hospital with stress High BP created cushing's syndrome as I watched everything I ever built disappear due to a worthless service that owed me not one but 2 disability policies, hospital stay, how do you deny hospital stay ? talk about worthless. they make you chase down papers that take 6 weeks to get from the hospital . When you send that in they have to review and turn it down . It's incredible how horrible this company is. If anyone on here is praising this garbage company you either collected the $25 doctor visit and think wow this is the greatest deal . If you are one of those and cannot calculate how much premium that cost you than You belong as a client of these crooks . The others are either employees or paid to do it. which is probably $25. There is no way that This piece of lies and garbage company can so easily ruin my life and so many others rated 1 star have so many complaints get praising from anyone. They also owe me a TV. The balls they have putting their duck on TV advertising same day payout. I through a glass through the TV. The one thing that is going to happen if the legal system doesn't step in. I'm waiting for an attorney who has beaten them several times. Even better I ran into a friend in my industry a few weeks ago. We were talking I always make sure to mention why I'm in poverty so fast Never will I let the opportunity to mention Aflac's raping of my daughters college funds we needed to survive losing everything to lies and denials. He said I was thinking about them for my business. Not anymore he's not. Best part is he has over 200 employees. Don't you ever let anyone sign up with the devil duck.

No they will not. if you have not collected any claims yet to date get a refund. They will promise to help you and give you the fortune 500 BS. They destroyed my company my life and now my full time job is re-submitting the same papers over and over as they are accepted then lost every month. read some of my store right under this. and that a short version. Get a refund they cannot refuse it if you have never claimed anything. To get paid on any claims it will cost you 4 times the amount or the payout. I just happen to be a principle fighter and had no choice with a broken back. I am left broke after 28 years in business . I was supposed to have enough money to pay my bills if anything happened to me and just cashed hospital stay check for one policy not the other. my first surgery happened in august 2018. I was disabled a year ago. my first 5 claims for heart issues goes back to 2016 still nothing.

I was doing yardwork and I had pain in my back I had an xray and an mri which revealed I had a ruptured disc after evaluation my Doctor scheduled me for surgery which I had. I also was scheduled for physical therapy. I filed a claim and was told by Klinette on March 20 2018 that I was not covered? I asked to be transferred to a manager which she would not do. For crying out loud I am on the phone for over an hour at this point. I told her I WANT TO CANCEL MY POLICY. She then has to transfer me? I get connected to Courtney and she says hold on and now I get connected to Kim, she wants to know why I want to cancel, I explain briefly an she says oh ok your policy will be cancelled on April 15th. What a joke then I go to the complaint site about Aflac and wow what a shame poor Phyllis works hard I guess all the money that is collected from consumers like myself pays for her overtime she must be overwhelmed. As a consumer I am disappointed and overwhelmed also. It seems like more time spent on hold with various calls and and no pay outs not even a call if something is in question.

Been with AFLAC 15 years paid THOUSANDS of dollars for coverage - never filed a claim. Suffered a severe ankle sprain, could not work, had surgery, submitted all forms from Employer, Surgeon - Claim denied based on their beliefs the doctors procedures were done surgically on what they could deem an accident. Spoke with rep as soon as I learned it was denied, got a very rude and heartless rep.
I would suggest other alternatives to this company. They make you go through every possible piece of scrap paper for info and provide them with it, only to have them make you wait out the 4-7 business days and deny you.

Someone please Roast that Goose on a open pit!

I had a baby on March 22 and was put out of work early due to hypertension. 3 weeks later I still had not recd a ck when I emailed and called about this I was told my agent was on vacation. The girl covering claimed the dr had not sent in the paperwork. Come to find out she sent the papers to the wrong fax number. Thank God I did her job for her of following up. Now I am still out due to issues and my agent is once again on vacation. Aflac only paid me for 6 weeks but in their system they say they paid up until June and they have no answer on how that happend. Now everything has been sent back in and they are now saying they have paid full benefits and they haven't so now I have to request they re evaluate everything. I have done more work getting myself paid and I have not once been able to speak to my agent. I do not recommend them for short term at all

They fu###d me over after time and 500 miles of driving and resubmitting claims they accept the disability part payout 30 percent of wages which was suppose to be 70 and deny the accident yep I meant to get hurt and go have surgery on my arm the agents sure sugar coated it when they sold me the policy.

Aflac double billing

Aflac has received not only payments from my checks at work, but also claimed these payments weren't made though checks were cashed. So I paid the bill they sent in the mail. They still claim they haven't received this check. So now I have paid for 9 months of Aflac and they just stonewall me when I try to contact them.

The company that I work for, allowed AFLAC to come in and offer coverage to their employess and a group rate which is suppose to be a lower rate than it would as an individual plan. what happens is the payroll dept. deducts your fees however you set it up. Mine is on a weekly deduction for example. AFLAC bills and sends the invoice once a month to the company, it is the companies responsiblity to send the payments to AFLAC to pay the monthly premiums.

If bills are sent to you from AFLAC, you can bet your bottom dollar that the company for which you work is deducting these fees, but are not sending in the money that they they are taking from your pay check.

As an Aflac employee for 10 plus years working daily with billing issues, if your employer were forwarding your payroll deductions in a timely manner, you would not be billed at home. We offer an extended time for these premiums to be remitted prior to contacting policyholders. Our contacting you directly is aimed at protecting our policyholders.

Aflac aflac doesn't want to pay!

I took out an AFLAC Intensve Care policy in March 06. The effective date of coverage was April 1, 2006. I actually took the policy because my mother had coverage and it was a wonderful help when she had cancer. In Oct 06, my husband had a heart attack and was in the hospital for 9 days. According to the policy, we are due a per day reimbursement the sub-acute room (8 days),reimbursement for the ambulance and for one day of intensive care. I faxed the claim on Nov. 10. Every single day I am told the claim will be processed that day & they have everything needed for the claim. I can't tell you how many times they have requested new documentation, a couple of times they've asked for the same info twice. Half the time, they deny receiving the paperwork, even though I have the fax confirmation sheet. I always re-fax immediately. I was told AFLAC had a 5-7 day turn around. We are over three weeks now. I have asked every day this week to speak with a supervisor, only to be given reasons why I can't. Reasons range from "I'm in management" to "We don't have per se supervisors" to "I will talk to you and relay your concerns to the appropriate person". Today when I told the customer service rep that this delay was unacceptable, I was told that it was considered "suspicious" that I took out the policy in March and now my husband has Coronary Heart Disease. She said heart disease does not have a sudden onset and he "must have rec'd prior treatment". When I asked if it would help for the primary doctor to send a statement to them attesting to the truthfulness of the claim, I was told that the auditors would really consider that suspicious if I started sending in unsolicited documentation. It was also implied that I have called too frequently this week! Hmm, perhaps that could be because my husband has been out of work for 7 weeks now and will not be released to return for several more? I should add that all of the agents are very friendly and polite. A couple of them have offered to call me back if there are more requests for documentation. Of course, none of them have actually done so. I have to call the next day to find out what the new paperwork is for the day.
It is unethical for a company to solicite business, offer coverage, acccept premiums, then when a claim is made, to imply to the policy holder that they are considered to be a liar and a cheat because a claim was made too soon in AFALC's opinion. Even though the hospitalization occured 7 1/2 months after the effective date of coverage.

I submitted a claim to aflac for being in the hospital and they won't pay the admission benef bec they say it has already been paid which is not true. I was in the hospital for something different than before and they're saying its the same condition but it's not. They always try to deny my claims.

Aflac auditors are refusing to pay my claim. I have been submitting the SAME information since day one for any claim that I file and all of a sudden the information is not valid. They've processed every other claim with the information that I've obtained from my provider, which is the same information that was submitted. I need answers!
