Covered California The day finally came for me to get affordable health

The day finally came for me to get affordable health care but the website for some reasons did not accept my application and it is very confusing. The individual and family button went nowhere and the shop and compare tool didn't even work. I couldn't enter the number of children on to the site. The See my options button didn't work. This is obamacare? This is the most confusing thing ever. For those of you who also hate this website, I have the pdf form here, just go to this link and print it out and then call them. https://www.coveredca.com/PDFs/English/paper_application/CA-SingleStreamApp_66MAX_***.pdf

Covered California Challenges with Covered California Healthcare Coverage: A Personal Review

As someone who is trying to obtain coverage for my healthcare needs, I have found the process through Covered California to be less than satisfactory. While I understand that the organization may have certain regulations that they must adhere to, I have experienced a great deal of confusion and frustration throughout my interactions with them.

At times, I have received conflicting information from various representatives, which has made it challenging to determine my eligibility and make informed decisions. Additionally, despite my efforts to provide all necessary documentation, there have been long delays in processing my case. Unfortunately, the end result was that I was deemed ineligible for coverage due to my work permit status - which, as a DACA recipient, at first felt like a cruel irony.

It is no secret that many individuals in our society continue to struggle to make ends meet, and the global pandemic has only worsened the situation for many. As a person who works hard and pays taxes, it is incredibly frustrating to feel like there are no feasible options for me in terms of health coverage. I was disheartened to find out that I would need to pay well over $350 for insurance alone, which is simply not feasible for many people like me. This is further discouraged by the apparent lack of assistance available when it comes to navigating healthcare coverage through programs like Medi-Cal.

Overall, while I appreciate that Covered California exists as an option for some individuals, it is clear that there are significant issues that need to be addressed in terms of accessibility and eligibility. As someone who continues to face obstacles in obtaining appropriate healthcare coverage, I sincerely hope that more equitable solutions can be found in the near future.

Covered California Beware Hidden Costs: A Review of Covered California's Affordable Care Promise

Covered California (CC) is a healthcare program that promises affordable care to individuals and families. However, many users have been disappointed at the end of the year when they receive their 1095A form, which reveals that the IRS has taken at least $300 out of their pocket for government premium tax credit.

This tax credit can seem like a great deal when signing up with CC, but it turns out that users were not warned that they would have to pay it back at the end of the year. This means that instead of paying the advertised $38/month, users can end up having to pay an extra $50/month for their healthcare. It's important to note that this only applies to people who have an income level below 400% of the federal poverty level.

It's understandable why this would leave users feeling cheated and upset. After all, they signed up for the lowest-cost healthcare option available, only to find out that they have to pay back money at the end of the year. For many people who are struggling financially, this extra cost is a significant burden.

It's worth noting that individuals who have an income level over 400% of the federal poverty level do not have to pay anything back. This raises the question of why CC is marketed as "affordable care" when it only applies to a certain income bracket.

Overall, it's clear that there are many issues with the way CC has been marketed and implemented. While it can certainly provide healthcare benefits to some individuals and families, it's important to be aware of the potential hidden costs associated with the program.

Covered California Disappointing Experience with Covered California: A Call for Improved Customer Service

The review about Covered California (coveredca.com) reflects a frustrating and disappointing experience, where the reviewer believes that negative stars should be an option to rate the platform and services. The reviewer finds that most of the phone representatives are unskilled and cannot provide a straightforward answer, and often pass the buck to others. The representative the reviewer spoke to yesterday extensively interrogated the reviewer to know whether they had proof that they applied for a particular plan through Covered CA. This ordeal took a lot of time, and the reviewer believes that they encountered several issues that cannot all be explained.

One of the problems pertains to a terminatio error made by a Covered CA representative that has left the reviewer's family without insurance coverage for February, which means they have been forced to wait until March 1st to get the coverage they require. Unfortunately, despite the reviewer's frustration and insistence, no one at the Covered CA seems to be capable of changing the start date. Overnight, the reviewer's start date changed from March 1st and being enrolled in the program to January 1st without any plan enrollment. The reviewer was not interested in selecting a plan in January since they did not receive any medical services that month, and their expected start date was February 1st, 2015. Even though the reviewer had already paid their February premium, the insurance firm plans to send back the money owing to an erroneous termination claim by Covered CA. The reviewer insists that the unending list of challenges leaves them extremely disgusted, tired, and frustrated with the incompetent people at the call center.

Overall, it is apparent that the Covered California system is failing many of its customers. The platform should work better to ensure that customer concerns are dealt with in a more timely and efficient manner. This review is a call to action for Covered California to rethink its entire customer service philosophy by hiring qualified personnel who are well-versed in all the procedures and processes that the platform entails.

Covered California Uncovering the Truth: The Dubious Business Practices of Covered California

Covered California, the state's healthcare marketplace, may not be as legitimate as they claim to be. A recent review posted on social media revealed that even if you have one of the PPO Blue Shield plans, you may not be able to receive treatment at any facility that accepts Blue Shield. This is despite being insured through Covered California, and it proves that the process is not as straightforward as one would hope. In fact, the review compares it to having an American Express prepaid card and being told that you cannot use it at a store where American Express is accepted.

Moreover, the poster discovered that the ENT offices which do accept Covered California Blue Shield plans are in "lower ghetto offices" which do not offer the quality one would hope for. Such information is not widely known, and it appears that Covered California is actively trying to suppress it. The social media post was deleted from their Facebook page, and the reviewer was blocked from reposting it. Additionally, comments have been disabled on their YouTube channel.

It is evident that Covered California's business practices are dubious at best, and potential customers must be aware of their deception. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that anyone considering healthcare through Covered California thoroughly researches their options and makes an informed decision.

Covered California Frustrating Experience with Covered California: Inaccurate Income, Poor Customer Service, and Difficulty Resolving Issues

Unfortunately, the experience with Covered California has been a frustrating and disappointing one for the reviewer. Despite not being eligible for financial help, they opted for coverage with them due to a lack of insurance options. However, after submitting their information, they received letters indicating that their reported income was significantly higher than what they actually earn. This error stemmed from outdated or nonexistent pay stubs that were being used to calculate their income, leading to grossly inaccurate figures.

This lack of attention to detail is understandably frustrating for the reviewer, who is rightfully disappointed that Covered California did not properly review their information. Furthermore, when trying to speak with someone to resolve the issue, they found that the customer service representative was not helpful and did not speak English fluently. This lack of communication only added to the confusion and frustration of the situation.

In addition to these issues, the downloadable scans provided by Covered California were not helpful either, as the reviewer was unable to find the document they needed to submit. This only added to the difficulty of resolving the problem.

Overall, the reviewer feels that Covered California needs to do a better job of accurately reviewing and processing customer information. This includes only using up-to-date and relevant pay stubs to calculate income, as well as improving customer service and communication. In the future, the reviewer plans to look for coverage with a different company that can provide a more reliable and helpful insurance experience.

Covered California Disappointing Experience with Covered California: Poor Communication and Unhelpful Staff

I am incredibly disappointed with my experience using Covered California. Recently, I received a letter from them stating that they were unable to auto-enroll me for January 2021 due to a lack of information regarding my employment status. While I understand that this situation worked in my favor, as my employment status had unfortunately changed, I was frustrated by the lack of communication and support from the company.

In mid-January 2021, I took matters into my own hands and re-enrolled in a lower plan that I could manage until I was back on my feet. However, I was shocked to discover that Covered California was attempting to charge me $300 for the month of January, even though I had no form of income and had not used any coverage during that time, even when I came down with strep throat. Despite reaching out to the company multiple times, I was misled by four different employees, all of whom assured me that everything was fine and that I would be covered for February. I was advised to contact Kaiser, as they were the ones requesting the payment, only to discover that they were not the issue at all. Eventually, I learned that Covered California had re-enrolled me for January, despite their earlier statement that I was not eligible for auto-re-enrollment.

Feeling frustrated and mistreated, I escalated the issue to management, only to receive a single email 24 hours later stating that my request had been denied and urging me to call customer service if I had further questions. As someone who possesses a letter clearly stating that I could not be auto-enrolled, I was dismayed that Covered California refused to acknowledge it. To make matters worse, their employees seemed completely untrained and unable to assist me in any meaningful way, while their managers and supervisors were equally unhelpful.

Ultimately, I feel that Covered California has failed in their mandate to provide affordable healthcare and instead has acted as a company that lies and steals from people who are already struggling financially. It is my sincere hope that they will take these criticisms to heart and work towards improving their practices and providing better customer service to those in need.

Covered California Affordability of Health Insurance Under Scrutiny in California

Covered California, the state's health insurance exchange created under the Affordable Care Act, has faced scrutiny for its determinations of affordability for individuals. One Californian, who is 62 and divorced, recently took to social media to voice her frustrations. She purchased a condo and her mortgage amounts to $2,000 a month. She doesn't have a car payment yet, but estimates it will be around $450 a month, while her home insurance is $250. Utilities and gas to and from work add up to $425 per month, bringing her monthly expenses to $3,125. After accounting for state and federal taxes, her take-home pay totals around $4,000 per month, leaving her with $875 for food, health insurance, and other essentials. However, Covered California believes that she can afford $750 per month in health insurance premiums, which she finds to be an outrageous expense. She uploaded two quotes from insurance providers, showing rates ranging from $649 to over $1,000 per month. This Californian's situation is just one example of the struggles faced by many individuals navigating the healthcare system. While the Affordable Care Act attempted to make healthcare more affordable and accessible, some argue that it hasn't gone far enough in addressing the underlying issues of rising healthcare costs and insurance premiums.

Covered California Mixed experience with CoveredCA operator for canceling MediCal plan and inquiring about eligibility of a family member

I recently had a phone call with Covered California to cancel my 2022 MediCal plan. I must say, I am extremely grateful for the Department of Health Care Services - CoveredCA program that supports people like me who are economically disadvantaged. However, my recent experience left me feeling a bit uneasy.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the phone call didn't start off on the best note. The operator who answered seemed to be struggling with a cough and I was a bit hesitant to continue with the call. I mentioned that I would like to cancel my MediCal plan for 2022 and the process started without any issues. However, when I inquired about my cousin's eligibility for MediCal since he recently quit his job, things took a turn for the worse.

The operator's response seemed to be agitated and her tone of voice was rather rude. She told me it was an individual case and my cousin would have to speak with her directly. I understood and politely declined on speaking with her further about it. The call ended on an awkward note, with her saying "have a good day" and quickly hanging up the phone. I couldn't help but feel a bit taken aback by her response.

As I reflected on the phone call, I could sense the operator's frustration with her job, and possibly the current COVID situation. I understand that these are unprecedented times and people are generally more on edge. However, I still couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with the way she spoke to me and how she made me feel for asking a simple question.

Overall, I applaud CoveredCA for the services they provide and the assistance they give to those in need. However, I hope that they can train their staff to handle conversations better and make people feel more at ease during these uncertain times. COVID-19 has caused a lot of stress for everyone, and we must remember to be kind and understanding to one another.

Covered California Disappointing Experience with Covered California's Healthcare Programs

As a former MediCal recipient, my experience with Covered California has been frustrating and disappointing to say the least. Despite my income being easily within the limits for MediCal, I was presented with options for plans with steep premiums of over $500 per month. There was no indication of any subsidies or special programs available under the ACA or even during the Covid pandemic. I was never asked for further information or given any other options. When I attempted to renew my coverage, I discovered that vital documentation was missing which I had not been informed of by any means of communication. After supplying the missing documents, I waited for months only to receive yet another request for additional documentation I had not been notified of before. Although I submitted everything that was asked of me and waited patiently, I eventually received a message claiming my ineligibility for all of Covered California's programs with no explanation offered. There was no way for me to submit a new application either as the previous application was already in the system. The lack of communication and transparency was alarming.

As someone who has faced similar issues applying for MediCal in the past, I cannot help but feel disillusioned and disappointed with the entire concept and execution of the Affordable Care Act. False promises of low-cost insurance and poor communication from Covered California have left me feeling like the entire process is nothing more than a waste of time. It would have been better to have known from the start that I would have to pay a large sum of money to a private insurance company rather than being provided with false hope and empty promises.

The flaws in the system are not only troubling but also worrying, particularly considering the importance of having reliable health insurance coverage. It is heartbreaking to see individuals denied coverage in as many cases as possible while needlessly wasting their time and energy. I am grateful for the courts striking down penalties for not having insurance as the thought of being penalized for something out of my control would be simply unbearable. In conclusion, my opinion of Covered California and county health services is that they exist only to deny coverage and waste as much of your time as possible.

Covered California Covered California Fails to Provide Health Coverage and Customer Service, Leaving Families in the Lurch

I recently had an experience with Covered California that left me feeling angry and powerless. It all started when I called about my son's 1095 form and was shocked to find out that he didn't have health insurance since last year. I had been enrolled in autopay with Healthnet and assumed that they would deduct the money from my account if they needed it. However, I soon discovered that they hadn't even attempted to collect payment from me. I never received any notification or warning about this issue, despite receiving new insurance cards and paperwork in January. Even when I called Covered California to update my information earlier this year, they failed to inform me that my insurance had been cancelled.

I was devastated and spent over two hours on a conference call with both Covered California and Healthnet representatives trying to sort out the issue. However, they both seemed to be dodging responsibility and passing the buck back and forth. I was told that if one party could reinstate the insurance, the other would approve it, but neither was willing to take the necessary steps. I was left feeling helpless and hopeless, begging for help to reinstate my son's coverage.

Despite making multiple calls and speaking with many different representatives, I received conflicting information and no resolution to my problem. After a month and a half of this nightmare, I received a call from a support unit informing me that my claim was denied because Healthnet had denied the reinstatement, even though I was willing to pay all payments owed. My work wouldn't allow me to add my son as a dependent without a note saying he had lost coverage within the last 30 days, and I couldn't afford private insurance. I was left with no options but to quit my job or leave my son without health coverage.

The lack of accountability and contradictory information from Covered California and Healthnet was shocking. Their policies and procedures seemed to take no account of the human mistakes made by the representatives of these companies, leaving parents and children in the lurch. Covered California was meant to help people get health insurance, but my experience was a far cry from that. I felt helpless and angry at their poor customer service and how quickly they washed their hands of me and my child's health.

Covered California Sky high premium's & pays doctors less than a plumber maked

I despise Blue Shield of CA Covered California. Very few doctors accept Covered California because they pay insultingly low fees to doctors. I have 2 good doctors who accept this insurance and I feel ashamed that they lose money accepting me and my crap insurance. One doctor complains bitterly about it and I suspect I will be losing his services soon. Blue Shield of CA Covered Calif has collected over 100k in premiums for me over the years & paid out almost nothing. Now that I have a severe health issue, I am finding there are no good specialists who accept Covered California policies. I am paying high premiums yet paying out of pocket for almost everything. As a newly disabled person, I can't afford to pay out of pocket yet I must if I want care. Blue Shield must think doctors order MRIs just for fun. Why does Blue Shield have to approve a doctor ordered test? Why should doctors answer to pencil pushers? This prior authorization policy for anything that costs over $100 ishould be illegal. Doctors know what is medically necessary, insurance companies know what costs them money. The only one benefitting from Blue Shield insurance is their CEO who makes 3.6 million. I guess that is their reward for denying health care to people who are suffering and who truly need help. I need help so badly and no way is Blue Shield Covered California going to do anything except call necessary procedures investigational and deny healthcare. I don't blame doctors for refusing to be paid crap by Covered California policies. Seriously, my plumber and a/c repairman make more money than Blue Shield Coveref Calif pays my doctors. Get rid of insurance companies, they have ruined healthcare.

Covered California Unable to get any insurance at all through Covered California

I had been on MedicAid (MediCal) under one provision, which expired. However, my income should have still been easily within limits to continue MediCal, but when I went to renew it, they only presented me with a variety of plans with $500+ per month premiums, and no indication of any subsidies or other programs under special covid provisions or ACA or otherwise. They didn't ask for more information, just didn't give me any other options. After a couple of months of not hearing anything more, I found out by logging in and poking around that they were missing some documentation, which they'd never informed me of by letter, email, text message, or otherwise. I supplied it, and waited again. Again, after a couple of months of not hearing anything, I found out that they were wanting still more documentation that they'd never asked for before. I supplied it, but never heard anything back, and now it's months later. Now the site says I am ineligible for MediAid, ineligible for marketplace accounts, ineligible for free bronze plans, ineligible for subsidized silver plans, ineligible for everything the site offers, with no explanation whatsoever of why. And there is no way to submit a new application either, since there is already the old one in the system. Nor is there any indication of whom to contact.

I have had problems applying for MediCal a couple of times before, and my brother did as well (and died of treatable cancer as a result). Overall, this is making me wish the entire Affordable Care Act didn't even exist. At least then everyone KNEW that to get health insurance they'd need to pay exorbitant amounts to a private company. Being dangled false promises of free or low-cost insurance only to get months of runarounds and hassle and lacking communications and ultimately be told that my only option is to pay exorbitant amounts to a private company via a separate application is just insulting, and a complete waste of my time. If I wanted to be poor by spending several times my annual income on health insurance premiums I could have done that months ago and saved myself the hassle of this BS website and county health services, which seem to exist only to deny coverage in as many cases as possible, while wasting as much of your time in the process as they possibly can. All I can say is I'm glad the courts struck down any penalties for not having insurance, because being penalized for how horrible CoveredCA is would be the icing on the cake...

Covered California Disappointing Service from Covered California: Mishandled Application and Confusing Tax Forms

I recently had a very frustrating experience with Covered California and I am not happy about it. My application was lost for 10 to 20 days during the busy month of December in 2017 which caused me to miss my application deadline. I did my part in submitting it on time, however, due to their mishap, my application was not processed as needed. To make matters worse, at the time, they tried to place me on Medical like they did to a relative of mine who got away with welfare fraud. I feel like they were taking shortcuts and not giving me the service I deserved.

To add insult to injury, they did not tell me that I could have reapplied in January and now, they are trying to penalize me again. It seems very unfair considering the situation was not my fault.

Additionally, I have had difficulty getting information from the IRS about whether or not I was penalized in 2016 when I only missed one payment in December. This was all because Covered California sent me the wrong tax forms. As a result, I missed out on getting my tax refunds and didn't even get a small check back. I am beginning to think that they may have sent it to a relative due to Covered California's lack of transparency.

I feel that the way Covered California handled my situation was very disappointing. I feel like I was not given the proper care and assistance that I deserved and as a result, I have been left feeling frustrated and helpless. I hope that they can improve their service and help others avoid the same mistakes and hardships that I have gone through.

Covered California Hit or Miss: My Customer Service Experience with Covered California

Recently, I had an experience with Covered California that left me feeling dissatisfied and frustrated. While on the phone with a customer service representative, the call was accidentally disconnected. When I called back, I was greeted by a man who seemed disinterested in helping me and was audibly slurping his soda. There were long gaps of silence, rustling papers, and no indication that he took any pride in his workplace or his job. Unfortunately, this interaction did not result in any progress being made towards resolving my issue. He claimed that everything was taken care of, but I wasn't convinced. When it came time to leave feedback about my experience, the representative never hung up despite knowing that I was waiting to do so.

After this frustrating ordeal, I decided to call back for a third time. Fortunately, I was connected with a woman who was incredibly professional, courteous, and productive. She was able to help me in a timely manner and provided me with the information I needed. It's unfortunate that one person can sour the experience of working with a company like Covered California. There are countless people who would love to have a job and would take pride in providing excellent customer service. It's important to recognize and praise those employees who go above and beyond to make customers feel valued and heard. Overall, while my initial experience was disappointing, I was pleased with the outcome after speaking to the second representative who was excellent.

Covered California Warning: Poor Experience with Covered California - A Flawed System That Needs to Change

I've had a really poor experience with Covered California and wanted to share my thoughts. Let me begin by saying that it has been a huge mistake to opt for this insurance. I would not recommend it to anyone.

One of the biggest issues I have encountered is the fact that they don't allow me to go out of state, even if there is an exception that needs to be made. For instance, I recently had to visit a specialist who was five hours away (each way), and the nearest one in-state wasn't accepting new patients. To make matters worse, the one-hour drive into the next state could yield an appointment within a few days. It's a shame that I have to resort to paying out of pocket when it wasn't necessary if I had better insurance.

Furthermore, the whole system and the way the health insurance works are completely unacceptable. I'm fed up with this experience and I'm sure many others would agree. I recommend that the people in charge who operate these systems reconsider the way they function for the sake of those who rely on them.

Additionally, the customer support experience I had was also a nightmare. The woman who assisted me kept looking up providers in counties I've never heard of, six hours away. She didn't seem to use my zip code or town name. Consequently, I couldn't get a straight answer, and it was frustrating.

My final suggestion is to get in touch with your local Congressman/woman and urge them to address this issue. By doing so, they can help improve the state of health insurance and hopefully create a fair and efficient system that can benefit everyone.

Covered California Disappointed with Covered California: Paid for Medical Coverage, Received No Medical Help

Upon searching for health insurance options, I stumbled upon Covered California, an online marketplace where Californians can buy medical coverage (coveredca.com). As a 37-year-old man, I have never visited a doctor, so I wanted to ensure that I had sufficient coverage in case any health issues were to arise. With that in mind, I selected the most comprehensive and expensive plan available.

After five months, I still had yet to see a doctor, though I do acknowledge that the ongoing pandemic might have been a contributing factor to this issue. I even had a scheduled phone doctor visit, but that, too, was cancelled. I tried to arrange a consultation with a psychiatrist for my depression, but my requests were ignored.

As someone who has never consulted with a doctor before at my age, I have no idea what sort of tests or screenings I should have. I would like to get examined for everything that's considered appropriate for someone in my age bracket who has never visited a doctor, but Covered California has not scheduled any medical appointments on my behalf. Moreover, I am supposed to take charge myself in scheduling any medical exams to get the care that I need - a responsibility that has stirred up anxiety in me given my lack of familiarity with medical procedures.

In summary, to my great disappointment, I have not had any access to medical help despite paying for the insurance. It feels like I’m getting scammed, paying for a system that benefits others when I am left behind without the support and care that I need.

Covered California Not Worth the Cost: A Frustrating Experience with Covered California

As an individual who has used Covered California (coveredca.com) on multiple occasions, I have to say that my experience has been less than satisfactory. While the website is intended to make the sign-up process for health insurance easier, I have found it to be just the opposite. The site always seems to have some sort of issue- whether it's loading slowly, failing to save information, or simply not functioning properly.

In addition to the technical difficulties, I have found the employees at Covered California to be unhelpful on more than one occasion. The assistance they provide is minimal and I have found myself spending countless hours trying to enter and amend information, only to get frustrated and still not be done.

One of the things that bothers me most about Covered California is their "financial assistance" program, which I find to be anything but helpful. While I appreciate the concept behind it, the calculations that determine how much financial assistance an individual receives are often inaccurate. As a result, I have been burned in the past with tax bills that are much higher than expected due to miscalculations in the assistance I received.

Another issue I have with Covered California is the insurance policies themselves. I find them to be expensive and not worth the cost. I dread having to sign up for coverage every year, knowing that I will be stuck with this insurance for the duration of the year, and that I will inevitably be hit with unexpected costs come tax time. The insurance policies also have a tendency to misrepresent doctors and whether or not they accept the insurance, which can be incredibly frustrating when trying to seek medical care.

Overall, my experience with Covered California has been a frustrating one. The site is difficult to navigate, the employees are unhelpful, and the policies are expensive and not worth the cost. While it is important to have access to healthcare, I would caution anyone who is considering using Covered California to carefully explore their options before making a decision.

Covered California Disappointing Experience with Covered California: Lack of Transparency and Difficulty Finding a Doctor

's experience with Covered California was less than satisfactory. While the price seemed reasonable at $83 per month, she soon discovered that finding a doctor in the Blue Shield network was quite difficult. Despite receiving a list of doctors who were supposedly in the network, none of them were in the Covered California plan. This left Mary feeling frustrated and disappointed.

To make matters worse, when she contacted Blue Shield for assistance in finding a doctor, they were unable to provide up-to-date information on who was in the plan. Mary found this surprising given that Blue Shield is capable of tracking millions of subscribers, but apparently not a few thousand doctors. She couldn't help but wonder why they were not able to provide more accurate information.

Mary discovered that Blue Shield had no doctors in the plan and was attempting to hide this fact by using a shell game. This involved providing a list of all medical staff in the system, rather than just the doctors who were actually in the Covered California plan. Mary found this to be both misleading and frustrating.

Overall, Mary's experience with Covered California was not what she had hoped for. While the price seemed reasonable, the lack of transparency and difficulty in finding a doctor left her feeling disappointed.

Covered California Poor Communication and Confusing Policies: My Experience with Covered California

My experience with Covered California was not the greatest. While I did appreciate the fact that I was able to cancel my plan, I did not feel as if I was given all of the information necessary to make an informed decision. When I called to cancel my plan on January 28, I was not made aware of the 14 day cancellation policy that Covered California had in place. Although I understand that this information is available on the website, it would have been helpful to be informed of this policy while on the phone with a representative.

Additionally, when I called today in an attempt to receive a refund, I was met with some confusion. According to Covered California, I did not explicitly state the date by which I wanted to cancel my plan when I called to cancel it. From my perspective, calling to cancel my plan meant that I wanted it canceled immediately. I did not want to leave it up to the company to decide when I would stop paying them. It would have been helpful to be made aware that, due to the 14 day policy, I would still be charged in February before my plan would be officially canceled.

Overall, I was left with the impression that Covered California is more concerned with making money than keeping its customers insured. I ended up wasting hundreds of dollars on insurance I couldn't even use anymore. It is my hope that Covered California can improve its customer service in the future to ensure that its clients are more informed about the policies that are in place.

Covered California Covered California Customer Service Review: Frustrated by Negative Encounters with CSRs

As a concerned citizen and customer of Covered California, I must share my experience with their customer service. I have recently had a string of negative encounters with their CSRs that have left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. While I am not one to typically write reviews, I feel compelled to do so in order to bring attention to the issues that need to be addressed.

When calling Covered California, the wait times can be extensive and navigating through the automated system can be an exercise in patience. It is not uncommon to be transferred several times before finally reaching the appropriate department. However, the real problem lies in the attitude and professionalism of the CSRs.

My most recent encounter involved a CSR who was clearly not interested in providing any assistance. Instead, she became defensive and accused me of being "unprofessional" for simply asking a question. This type of behavior is unacceptable and does not instill any confidence in the abilities of Covered California to provide reliable healthcare assistance.

On a more positive note, I did have a helpful interaction with a second representative who was able to assist me in creating a login and password for my brother's account. However, this conversation was also frustrating as it ended abruptly with a phone disconnect after an hour and a half on hold.

The issues with Covered California's CSRs need to be addressed immediately in order to provide the highest level of customer service to those who depend on their healthcare assistance. It is unacceptable to be left on hold for extended periods of time and to be treated disrespectfully when simply seeking assistance.

In conclusion, I urge Covered California to take action to improve their customer service and to provide the support that their customers deserve.

Covered California Unsatisfactory Experience with Covered California: A Review of Frustration and Delay in Accessing Medi-Cal

As someone who has had personal experience with Covered California, I have to say that my interactions with the organization have been far from satisfactory. My family and I signed up for Medi-Cal for a relative who is confined to a skilled nursing home, and it has been a frustrating and disappointing process.

We initially submitted our application online through Covered CA, only to have it lost due to a "glitch" in their system. We then sent a second application via priority mail with a required signature - but unfortunately, it too was lost, and we were unable to get any information on who might have signed for the envelope.

After this, we made a third attempt to apply by phone in August, but when we called recently to speak with our assigned case worker, we were informed that there was a significant backlog of applications on her desk going back eight months to January 2014. Our case did not seem to be any closer to resolution, despite our numerous attempts to follow up and get assistance.

Covered CA's phone tree system has been a particular frustration, as it seems designed to deflect and delay rather than provide any real assistance. At this point, I am left with no choice but to conclude that the Affordable Care Act system is demonstrably broken - at least as far as Covered California is concerned.

I truly hope that this review can help others in similar situations to understand the challenges they may face when dealing with this organization. Perhaps with enough feedback and pressure, we can hope to see improvements in the future - but for now, I cannot recommend Covered California with any confidence.

Covered California Disappointing Experience with Covered California: Overpaying for Health Insurance

As a supporter of Obamacare, I was excited to use Covered California as my primary source of obtaining health insurance. Unfortunately, my experience left me less enthusiastic about the state-run marketplace. As an unemployed individual, I opted for a KAISER bronze plan from Covered California at the start of 2016. However, this plan cost me $786.97 more than it would have if I had purchased directly from KAISER.

My situation changed when I landed a job with medical coverage in mid-March 2016, and I quickly informed KAISER of this development on the 28th of the same month. But to my surprise, the Kaiser billing department informed me that they could not help because KAISER was only doing billing for covered California. I was disappointed to learn that I still had to pay the premiums till the end of April when I should have stopped on the 14th of March 2016 if I had purchased directly from Kaiser.

This experience left me wondering why a government agency like Covered California would not be more customer-friendly like any other private insurance company. Despite my disappointment, I still consider Obamacare an essential component of obtaining health insurance. My advice to those who are not homeless or do not necessarily require assistance from the state is to avoid purchasing from Covered California as they could potentially end up being ripped off like me.
