After seeing the enticing ad for Aetna Advantage Plan D-SNP with '$0 co-pays' for everything AND OTC benefits, decided, to trade, original medicare & I called ehealth for assistance. They tried to lead me away from Aetna but I insisted. I was completely ignorant of all insurance details. Original medicare ALWAYS paid 100% of ALL healthcare costs. Went to their in-network drs after recieving pre-authorization and was shocked to receive countless bills; some for 100% of costs. Recently began reading the small-print-details of plan & discovered that I must pay $8,850. out-of-pocket, per year BEFORE getting those $0 co-pays. I live on $12,000. a year. Even if I moved in under a bridge, I couldn't live on $3,140. a year. Because of the barrage of phone calls, letter from providers & collection agencies, I'm a nervous wreck, on top of multiple health conditions. Haven't been to a dr in over a year despite some frightening acute illnesses. Writing this review, in hopes that it will save another elder from this agony. Ignorance is not bliss.
