Aetna dropped our coverage, and we were unaware of this until a followup visit in January (for husband's knee replacement surgery) disclosed that our policy had been dropped. The hospital said that other patients had also lost coverage. We had no notification of this and had to immediately find a new Medicare Supplemental Insurance. Since we missed the December deadline, my husband is now billed monthly from Medicare for "late enrollment penalty." This is outrageous and our new insurance said we have to go through Aetna to have this penalty removed. I am really disgusted with this and want to know how to proceed.
Desired outcome: Please find a way to remove this monthly penalty. This adds insult to injury.
