I get emails from academia.edu every day. I've tried unsubscribing many times, but the emails just won't stop.

or something. Anyway, I was not happy about it. I tried to contact their customer support, but it was a real pain. They took forever to respond and when they finally did, their answers were not helpful at all. It was like talking to a robot or something.
As for the website itself, it's okay I guess. You can find a lot of research papers and articles on there, which is nice. But the interface is kind of clunky and not very user-friendly. It's hard to navigate and find what you're looking for.
Another thing that bothered me was the constant emails I would get from them. They would send me notifications about new papers and updates, even though I didn't ask for them. It was really annoying and I couldn't figure out how to unsubscribe from them.
Overall, I wouldn't really recommend Academia.com. There are better platforms out there for finding research papers and articles. The customer support is terrible and the website itself is not very user-friendly. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

They keep sending me emails, and it made me log in on Oct 17. I didn't realize they would charge me annually just for checking the account. I contacted them and asked for a refund to my Paypal account: ***. They have a 30-day money-back guarantee, but they haven't responded to any of my emails. I'm really disappointed with this site.

I was using Academia.edu to find educational stuff, and guess what? They started listing my name in lots of other educational places without asking me! Can you believe it? They did it 119 times! I showed them my old law enforcement credentials, and they promised to stop spreading my name around their servers and other schools last year. But now I found out they're doing it again, and they even want my financial info to charge me! That's totally illegal, right? I asked them nicely to give me the info they have about me, and all they're doing is hosting my name, not other institutions. I need to know RIGHT NOW who's using my name and where! I've sent them a bunch of emails to sort this out, but they're not being helpful at all. I've attached some documents to prove what I'm saying.
