Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX Contact Email: customer success manager This project was a text book installation from the signing of the contract, all the way to obtaining the final inspection. there were no issues what so ever. 30 days after the installation was completed, the customer was informed by Bay County Building department that the roof we had installed on was not installed to code. Now 30 after the completion of this project the customer wants us to remove the solar panels due to their open roof permit with the County. The customer had reached out to us to inform us of the situation, we replied there will be a fee to remove and reinstall the customer solar panel system. Upon receiving our quote for remove and reinstall the customer responded with hostility. We were accused of being deceitful and lying about what was required, As for the misunderstanding for the Insurance requirements. Upon the customer signing a contract with AC/DC SOLAR LLC, they also signed the power companies interconnection agreement. Page 5 section 8 clearly contains the information required by Gulf Power for them to obtain a $1,000,000.00 liability policy for their property. For days after this was brought to our attention we had brainstormed to see what can be done to correct the situation with the roof and what we could do to reinstall their system. AC/DC Solar did some research on the contractor that installed their roof and forwarded their Liability insurance info to the customer. We stated they have the option of filing a claim for the Roof that was not installed to code, and that they may be able to cover the cost of the new roof and the cost of the removal & reinstallation. As of now we are waiting on the customers reply as to the status of the claim. Once we have that status, we can evaluate our options, as to how to proceed Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Their representative lied about the company paying for our insurance themselves. In the state of Florida, you can't get get a true insurance to cover if you net meter. ACDC was not forth coming about this. We talked to every insurance company they referred us to as well as our current. Insurance Co. stated net metering is not allowed and tgey will cancel our home policy as well. We can pay for insurance, but if we file a claim it will be denied, at least 4 companies told us this. CAN'T BE INSURED WITH REAL COVERAGE. Business Response Please see the attached signed document on page 16 stating that the Customer shall acquire and maintain in force general liability insurance in an amount of no less than one million dollars ($1,000,000) per occurrence for damage to persons or property resulting from operation of the Facility. The Customer shall provide initial proof of insurance, or sufficient guarantee and proof of self-insurance, evidencing the Facility as a covered addition to the Customer's insured property. The Customer shall submit similar proof of continuing insurance coverage within thirty (30) days of any policy renewal Consumer Response work is still not complete. Business Response AC/DC SOLAR LLC received a complaint from Mr., We have performed multiple steps to determine if the solar system sold is operational and to see if pre-calculated production has been met. For every Customers' system, We will calculate the previous 12 months average electric usage and create a solar system that will produce the same amount of energy over a 12 month period. The system is designed with a top of the line estimation proposal tool, that calculates and presents the homeowner with a graph showing an estimated monthly production compared to estimated monthly consumption. The estimated monthly consumption shown on that proposal is based on the homeowners consumption from the previous year. If the homeowner increases their usage, they will in turn increase the amount of their monthly bill. AC/DC SOLAR LLC is one of the only companies in the market offering "First year production guarantee" and can be found on page 8 of the contract. This states that if the First year production does not meet what was quoted, We will refund the retail cost per kilowatt hour, not produced by the system, up to the guaranteed amount. AC/DC Solar will also rectify the situation by installing additional panels if necessary at no additional cost to the customer. Mr. First year production guarantee was estimated at 25,052 Kwh. (See Attached) Mr. system is in communication with our servers, and we have initiated an investigation inquiring into where his usage and what we have quoted differentiate. All of his Product manufacturers and our Engineering Team have both determined that the system is working properly, and estimated production has met every month since the solar system was installed. Our engineering team has also determined that the first year guarantee will meet what was estimated, and any bills the homeowner has incurred in recent months, is a result of higher energy usage than what was quoted from the previous year. Furthermore, AC/DC SOLAR LLC have asked the home owner to perform a free energy audit with his utility company to understand the energy consumption increase . The free audit has not yet been performed. Regardless of the Energy Audit, AC/DC SOLAR LLC, Is willing to send a Service Technician to the residence to check Mr. solar system. After a thorough comparison of the systems production numbers, and that of the proposed output, we will have a better understanding of the increase in usage. I do not dispute that the system is operating as designed. My contention is that the system was incorrectly engineered. I have been trying since the middle of February to have a meeting with a representative from this company and I believe I have been stonewalled. As I mentioned in the text of my complaint, the company did originally make a phone call to me and asked for more copies of my electric bills, after which they ignored my request for a face to face meeting. The biggest problem I have with their response is this: they claim to have used the previous year's electrical consumption to figure their proposal. We moved into this house (and Florida) just before Christmas of 2019. We made contact with this company in June or July of 2020. How could they claim that they used a year's worth of electrical consumption figures when we had not been here for a full year? How can they claim that our consumption has increased, as opposed to the previous year, if January 2020 was our first full month in this house. In addition, the graph that they submitted as some kind of evidence is confusing. It shows figures from January to December, but of what year? It cannot be 2020 because the system did not start producing solar energy until November of 2020 (I believe). In any case, why are they now saying that they are willing to send a representative when this is what I have been asking for since February? I have never been so shabbily treated by a company that has sold us a product/service that cost almost $70,000.00 and I am running out of patience .. I do not want to prolong or escalate this issue, but I need to see this company respond to me in a way that will satisfy my questions. Business Response Forwarded message From: Cassandra C. We are currently in the process of sending a technician out to run a diagnosis of his system on 4/22/21. We are actively working with this member to assure his satisfaction with his solar system and service." Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I again reject the response from ac/dc for the same reason I rejected their previous responses. I explained to Cassandra that sending out a technician to check the function of the system was a waste of time both for them and for me because the issue is not the functioning of the system. We had previously acknowledged that the system probably worked properly according to design. The real issue is that they miscalculated the engineering and the system was not generating enough solar power to meet the promised goal of 100% offset of consumption. This represented a design/engineering error on their part.Regardless we consented to have them send out their tech. On April 22, Shawn came to check the system. We tried to explain the issue to him but ha said he was not aware of the issue and his sole function was to check he system. He did so and reported that the system was functioning normally. Shortly thereafter Cassandra called back to report the result of the system check. I repeated to her that this is not the issue and we still needed to talk to a principal person in their company who could explain to us how they could claim to have engineered a system based on a year's worth of electrical consumption data when such data does not exit. Cassandra agreed to send a representative to our home on May 7th to meet with us. We will see what they have to say after that. Thank You
