I have been dealing with Aaron's since 2003 when I leased a big screen TV from the store in Poughkeepsie, NY. I relocated back to Georgia in 2005 and have since opened accounts in the Conyers and Stockbridge locations. Not one, not twice, but on four different occasions Aaron's has either charged my checking account twice for the same payment or debited my account with my authorization at all. I have paid almost $500 in NSF fees to my bank due to these erroneous charges and Aaron's has refused to refund any of those NSF fees. Both managers I have dealt with have been rude and have both threatened either my husband or myself on several occasions with legal proceedings, etc. In researching, I'm finding that these types of things are not isolated incidents as I have found complaints posted on numerous web sites from all over the country. What type of training program does this company offer to their managers? Whatever it is, they need to change it quick.

All I know is this clown who takes joy in other people's problems and takes refuge in stereotyping every customer as "deadbeat" is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. In fact, he is the rather dull knife with built up rust because of what he's made of. He says himself he left the business because he couldn't see eye to eye with his employer Aaron's which is a big red flag, not-to-mention, he was an partaker of this love fest which doesn't mark him very high on the sliding scale of life; prob somewhere between "deadbeat" and used car salesman. I held my nose as I read his remarks.

PS not a customer, just curious.

My wife and I went to aaron for a 42 inch this is our second big screen from them along with various other items. they could not deliver before superbowl sunday.so they allowed us to take it home in the backseat of our caddy .they wrapped our screen in what looked like saran wrap.and sent one guy out to load it in our car I got out and assisted him when I pulled the screen across the seat I notice it took up almnost all the room across the back seat.I then started to look at the screen to see how centered it was on the back seat..then the back door slammed the side the sale associate was on I looked at my side and hadplenty of room so I closed the door and we drove home...long story short we got the tv in the house unwrapped the plastic cut on the power and the lcd was cracked.they say I dropped it we did not...the damaged area was consistent with the angle, and the level of the console on the back door that holds the controls for the windows and locks the screen cracked when the associate closed the door .

Aaron's is a terrible place. It's filled with thieves and robbers. I had my problem with them, but I have a court date set for the ### that came to my house starting trouble. I had to take care of it legally to keep from going to jail. They won't let you get to the higher management. I'm sure they've been instructed by these cowards to behave the way they do. But trust me, their mess is coming to an end. God doesn't like ugly and Aaron's is winning the ugly contest. But I promise them, if I have to work overtime or a second job, this shyster mob outfit is coming down!

I am having problems with the Jacksonville, NC Aarons store which is idependently owned and operated.
Well I rented a washer and dryer from them back in March 08. I was very happy with them until about a month later I looked behind my dryer and found that when theys delivered it the kicked a hole in my wall which they failed to mention. I was very upset called the sales person I got it from and told him he apologized to me and told me the GM will call me to take care of it. Well a month went by still no response, so I went to the store to talk to the GM and he told me he needed to talk to the owner about it first. But the owner was on vacation so I had to wait till he got back. Another month went by went to the store again to find out what was going on I was told the GM was on his honeymoon and when he got back he would contact me. Another month went by still no response went to the store again and the GM said there was no way his driver could kick a hole through my wall I told him to come out and he would see it was a foot that had gone through my wall. He still didnt believe another month went by went to the store again very upset this time he sent a delivery person out to look at it and he took a pic by his phone and txt it to the GM. Confirming that someone had kicked a hole in my wall he apologized and said he would fix it right away. Well another month went by still have a hole in the wall I went to the store and told the GM that I wasnt going to make another payment until they fixed my wall. He said I understand I wil get someone on it right away. Well another month past went into the store again and the GM told me the employee that they had that could fix it was no longer with them. He would have to find somebody else well another month went by they finally came by one time to repair my wall I wasnt at home at the time. They finally came out and started on the wall he put a patch on it which looks horrible and they want me to paint it and finish sanding it . I will not pass my move out inspection with the way they did this and want me to finish it I am pregnant and can not do that kind of stuff they did the damage they need to fix it. Well know they are harrasing me for my payment I keep telling them when they fix my wall I will pay them. They keep sending this guy out to harrass me and he didnt know what was going on when he was out here I told him the story he called the GM and told him what was going on. I got on the phone with the GM and he was yelling and screaming at me I told him I wasnt going to deal with him anymore. I wanted to talk to the owner since this store is independently owned the owner got on the phone with was yelling and cursing at me saying my wall was finished I need to stop being a deadbeat and pay my bill I told him to take me to court and he hung up on me. Well still have unfinished wall and getting harrassed on a daily basis. Anybody have any advice.

hello i been renting with aarons for the last year and i must admit it is one of the worse companys to deal with. I was renting a dell dimension 1100 tower and had nothing but problems with it from day one and they informed me that if for some reason i had any problems with it that it was covered through insurance and if for some reason they couldnt fix the problem that they would swap out the thower and transfer all my money i had invested to another tower of same value. I got so sick and tired of taking time out of my busy schedule to return this item to the store for repair at least twice a week so i told them just give me another tower. they did that but gave me a hp pavilion desktop and signed me up for another 18 month commitment of 123.00 a month when my other computer was payed off in 4 monthsand added another 6 months on to my monitor which should have been payed off. i recently fell behind on my payments because of transferring jobs and they been hounding me ever since threatening me to take my computer back when i have about 5 months left of payments. this is rediculous. i have about 1800.00 invested so far between both computers which is way over priced. i could have bought a alien ware desk top for that kind of money. I would not reccomend this company to anyone. They are a bunch of scam artists who are out to rob your wallet. I rented numerous items off this company in the pa area and had nothing but problems with everything i rented. the delivery guy while moving my television into my apartment smashed the whole back of the tv in pushing in all the video jacks making the options on the television very limited and when brought to the managers attention he insisted it was something i have done and it wasnt his drivers. If you want a stress free experience i seriously suggest you deal with rent a center. that is what i am doing and i will be returning the computer i have rented for the last 2 years and will be going through rent a center. I WOULDNT RECOMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE> BEWARE

I agree I have been dealing with AArons Sales and lease for six years. Due to the economic issues, I have been unable to pay for the bedroom set that I have. Several times s sales person has shown up at my door. This was very unecessary. I called the office on Decature, and spoek to the manager. I informed him that I could not pay and for them to come and pick up their merchandise. I was talked too like I was some DOG of the streets. I was told that not having the money was not thier problem, and to pay this account that day. Then I was asked why did I sign an argreement if I could not pay. I own about $900.00 more dollars, but have bought several items from them totaling about $5000.00.
At this time I was so amazaed that someone in that position could speak to a long time customer as he did. I told him for the fith time that I could not pay, and if he feels that he needs to take me to court then there is nothing that I could do about it. August 27, when I cam to work they have been calling my place of mployement. I called back at restates that I dod not have the money and not to call my job again.
AArons will not come and pick up thier merchandise, but rather harrass me at my place of employement. I feel as though I need to speak to an attorney.

I to am having problems with Aarons Sales and Leasing. I just finish paying for over 3000.00 dollars worth of brand new furniture which I know how ownership papers on. For whatever reason Aarons has placed me on the hit list preventing my mother and I from purchasing any other items from them.

Other Aarons are having trouble finding out why I was even placed up there in the first place. Come to find out the manager at the Ann Arbor location has personal issues with me and decided to place me on the hit list for no apparent reason besides issues we have had.

Also there has been plently of times where I was not approved at the Ann Arbor locatoin, because of him, and approved at all the other locations.

A business is a business, whether or not you particularly like someone that should have nothing to do with taking care of business in a professional manner

I agree with all the stores that I've heard and am dealing with Aaron's in Panama City, FL right now. Not once nor twice but now 3 times they've claimed to have lost, or never received payment from me or my mother. I've moved to Tampa, which I informed them of this and they said that this was fine, as long as I didnt leave the state. Now I have been sending payments since, Jan. 08 and the last 2 months (April and May)they suddenly havent been getting the payments. I re-sent on check which they held on to the check for 21 days, then claims it bounced. Which they threatened to send me to the States Attonery's office. Now they claim they've sent it to legal as stolen property unless I send them $452. Which if my math serve me correctly the 2 payments they claim I'm behind equals $340. Which last month the Account manager told me that I only owed $180, plus $208 for the bounced check plus return check fee. Which also should cover that April payment.

First: 95% of the complaints above can be solved by paying your bill ontime. Period. Pointblank. With that said, there are bad employees as in any company. I am a good employee. I protect my companies assets. I am a professional. I am professional until you stop treating it like a business arrangement and more of a game.
-I will win the game. I know where you live. You don't know where I live. You aren't the first, the last or even second runner up trying to get over on me TODAY! It is a battle everyday. You will not win. You only prolong the inevitable.

I too get a kick out of the above deadbeats chanting on and on about how Aarons has deprived them of their rights to property that doesn't belong to them.
-It isn't your's until you pay for it.

Don't want to talk to me?
-Put your credit card on auto-run or pay your bill on time.
I will destroy your door if:
-you are 30 days late
-you are home and I know it
-I feel you are trying to steal---and I will know. I am a professional. You think you are the first? Please!
-you aren't home and there are dogs barking and scratching you door to hell

God help you if you are 32 days late:

-I will take your peephole out to look for my merchandise. Then I will throw the peephole in the parking lot if you are 32 days late.
-I will drop by your job to say hello. The first time I do this I will let you save some face. I will graciously invite you to speak privately. If you are stealing I will speak loud enough for someone to call the police.
-I will alienate your family until either you pay the bill or they change their number.
-I will initiate polite conversation with your neighbors as I am chipping the paint off your door saying to you through the door, "Great, now even your neighbors know you are stealing."
-I will skip trace you-you really can't hide. We may just have bigger fish to fry. Or get bored, lazy etc.
-When I find you I will smile at you. I already put your tires on flat in the parking lot. We will have a pleasant conversation about you returning your merchandise.
-If you refuse, I will file a writ. You will be sleeping soundly at like 345 a.m. and get an unpleasant knock at the door. Not by me, by the police. It never goes well after that.

There are other things I will do to initiate contact. Can't give out all my secrets. Let me just say to those who will post after this one. "SEE I TOLD YOU AARONS WAS EVIL" Pay your bill ontime, get all the facts before you sign the contract, and don't ask for special treatment. You aren't!

haha - "R".. what a ###... if that makes your day, then you must have a very unfulfilling life...

All I have to say, once again, is - HAHA

###...

The fact that you even used to work at an Aarons says alot about you... you probably are a high school dropout - live paycheck to paycheck and the only reason you have never rented from Aarons is because you probably scammed their crappy merchandise from them when your ghetto ### was working there anyway for $25,000 per year...

Feel free to contact me with any responses - pastamyk at comcast dot net... later

My husband and I made the biggest mistake of our lives by doing business with Aaron's. I am in the midst of the fight of my life. These jerks charge late fees on every bill we recieve. These people need to be put out of business. I have a heart condition and it infuriates me every month. If I pass, my husband is going to sue ,due to the cause of my death. Everyone should get together and make a complaint with the BBB. And put these theives out of business. Thank God my family is a family of lawyers. We plan to take these people to the highest court there is. We are all dealing with demons at work. God bless all of you dear people whom have suffered at the hands of these people. I'm a country women and I will not allow trespasssing. Somebody will have to crawl out all these acres and Lord I hope they make it. But The Lord is doing his work on these demons as we will ALL see. Every dog gets his day.

A woman with Faith in Gods will.

Aarons is a glorified pawn shop! These guys are based out of Atlanta. The owners have so much money they cant even spend it fast enough! At the corporate level they were towing and booting their workers cars for profit! They are known as Snakes in Atlanta. The president of the company is such a duech that he was so wasted on a hunting trip that he shot one of his guys leaving him deaf in one ear!

I also have a problem with Aarons, i got from them dell laptop and they were very nice thru my 1st year, if i was late they accepeted partial of the payment or give me atleast until the end of the month to pay if i paid the late fees. SO NOW I ONLY HAVE 4 PAYMENTS AND I OWN THE LAPTOP, I WAS 2 DAYS LATE THIS MONTH AND THEY CALLED ME AT MY JOB HARRASING ME AND THREATING TO TAKE THE LAPTOP FROM ME WITCH BY THE WAY THE ORIGINALY COSTS $600 AND I HAVE PAID THEM SO FAR $3000 ! IF I KNEW I WAS GOING TO PAY THIS MUCH I WOULD HAVE SAVE THE MONEY AND BOUGHT ME 3 OF THEM! BUT THEY HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO WAIT FOR MY PAYMENT, I ALREADY WASTED TOO MUCH $ ON THIS LAPTOP AND IM NOT GOING TO GIVE IT UP! OH YEA, BY THE WAY, YOU WHO SAID THIS "I would hand them my phone so they could call.
Newsflash---its Aarons merchandise until you pay for it in full."

THATS BS. ITS MY MERCHANDISE CAUSE I ALREADY PAID FOR IT 3 TIMES!

MY MOM HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH RENT A CENTER AND SHE WAS AWARDED $2300 FROM A LAWSUITE THAT THEY HAD AGAINST THEM. IM IN CONTACT WITH THE LAWYER THAT SUE THEM AND IF AARON SALES AND LEASE DONT STOP HARRASING ME AND THREATING TO TAKE "MY" LAPTOP I WILL BE CALLING THAT LAWYER, ALSO I LOST MY JOB BECAUSE OF THEM CALLING ME 3-6 TIMES A DAY EVERYDAY, SO MY QUESTION IS HOW THE HELL YOU EXPECT TO GET PAID!

I was with Aarons for close to a year.
I left due to all the problems we did not see eye to eye on.

Yes, I will admit that Aarons is not a nice place.
We deal with deadbeats and such constantly.

To you who chose not to read the lease agreement--
Welcome to the world of sub-prime lending.
If you had better credit, you wouldn't need to hit up Aarons.
Or, if you had patience, you could save up the cash and then go to a nice store and get what you want.
However, you are too short-sighted and you get hit with charges and fees.

As to the people who complain about Aarons wanting their money, uh, you signed the lease.
You agreed to pay on the first or fifteenth of every month.
If for some reason you cannot make the payment, you are to alert Aarons as soon as you know.
It is up to Aarons to either work with you or not.
If they choose not to work with you, they have the right to get their merchandise.
They do not have the right to break down your door in all states.
In my state, we had to play by the rules.
Also, if you read your lease agreement, you will notice that Aarons has Lifetime Reinstatement.
What that means, is, if for any reason, you lose or give up the merchandise, Aarons will resign the lease agreement with the remaining number of payments with merchandise that is the same or of comparable value.
No other Rent-to-Own company does this, or doesnt as far as I know.

As to you people who wish to complain to Charlie Loudermilk III, well, have fun.
He was raised in this business.
He understands that deadbeats and such will complain.
He also knows that people will lie in order to save some cash.
Who do you think he is going to believe?
If you disagree with Aarons, go to RAC, or Colortyme, or any of the million other RTO companies out there.

I am glad that my old co-workers are out there taking your money and laughing at your excuses.
I use to get a kick out of deadbeats getting mad at me and telling me they were going to call the cops for harassment.
I would hand them my phone so they could call.
Newsflash---its Aarons merchandise until you pay for it in full.
One payment does not make it yours.
All payments but one does not make it yours.
What makes it yours is paying out the full amount.

BTW---for anyone smart enough to understand, you cannot pre-pay an Aarons account.
If your monthly payment is 100 and you owe 500, you cannot pay 400 and just have one monthly payment left.
If you dropped the 400, you would still have 200 left to pay.
Just some free information.

I love reading these things.
You people make my day.

Hi I am from Oshawa Ontario Canada and let me tell you that Aaron's does not have a good reputation here with your northern friends. Last year I purchased a tv, xbox system and a Dryer. Well I paid through my bank account every month on time I might add, but when Aaron's received the money they only applied it on one account the xbox... to make a long story short they continually harassed me and one of the sales rep who is the new manager who had a mob mentality kicked open my front door one day my husband and children were at home but my husband was in the shower it scared the children, so I talked to the owner who called me a liar! Anyways the deal they made with me give back everything or pay an extra $600 in late fee penalties.

So told them to kiss my ### and would never do business with this company ever again.

These people are horrible. For everyone who has a complaint, please go to your attorney general's website and go to this site called www.rtoonline.com- this lists the rights of consumers who rent to own. I found out about the Texas law Subchapter. Maybe it'll give you some info for other states... Also please read your lease agreements. They are making the same threats to me...

i deal with the Aaron's in buffalo,ny i have no other words to say but they are rude and inconsiderate...they seem to hire ghetto people that feel that they can talk to you anyway they want,i dont know about people inyour state but im puerto rican and we dont play those types of games,"it's not good for your health"...lol i used to rent my things from a store in Riverside and recently tranferred to the store on grant street which is closer to my home,in the riverside location because i am a "preferred customer" so they say and they agreed to come and pick up their payments no charge! thats was very corteous of them in the Riverside location which is farther from my house mind you...now that im at a location close to my home they want to charge me $10.00 to come pick up the payments...does this make any sense to you? i called the GM and he was just as ignorant as the ghetto boyz in the store...i dont know where to go with this? all i know is that Aaron's workers words are as good as the poop on the bottom of my shoes,lol.. but never the less i would really like some input on this...thanx

Aarons is horrible and should be closed down. I recently am trying to return a lawn mower because it doesn't work right, and I got a rude and threatening phone call from the asst. manager at the Flint., Michigan store. telling me that " I really don't have time for games and you need to be sure to be home today so my guys can pick up this mower by five." Like he was reporting it - not me asking for them to pick it up. Original manager was great - replacement manager should not be there! Can anyone give me the GM address or e-mail ? Thanks.

All I can say about Aaron's is that I bought a 56 inch Tv on a 18 month lease. We agreed that they would just bill my Credit Card each month for the payment. I have 3 more payments yet to go and everything has been great. Thy NEVER call me about anything. I stop in the store from time to time for coffee and they couldn't be nicer to me. Of course my payments are always paid when due and the right amount ($102.00). Guess that makes a difference how you are treated.

Ok i go through Aarons here in Nebraska. Anyway like a month ago my landlord illegally evicted me when i was on vacation...well anyways he said he put all my stuff out on the street thats including my desktop computer and desk i got from aarons. I'm still paying on the computer, but times are rough right now and i'm like a month and a half behind on my payments. Now they are coming to my home, calling me like 6 times a day saying they want their computer and desk back or the money I owe them. They also are saying that I have stolen merchandise and are going to file criminal charges against me. I don't know what to do they wont believe me when i tell them what happened and I just don't understand it... I had paid over 1800 dollars on it already and still owe 1500 on it. I am so scared they are going to put me in jail for this. Can they do that, does anyone know? Or are they just threating me?

I think this is becoming the american way just look at our own people in washington dc a bunch of ###s that don't care about you or me only of themselves look at all the scandals that have gone on in the government we learn from them. Also we are a stupid people we work and work and they give our money away to the illegals what do you expect from the masses that live in a society that teaches get what ever you can any way you can and if you get caught you get out in a couple of months back to do the same thing again but better, this is life live with it. Just don't get caught thats the american way. To bad. It wasn't always this bad.

I totally agree, we not only bought the vacuum, but also a washer and dryer. They have done the same thing with my husband and I, changing the day the payment was due, etc.

Not only that, they did the same thing, taking the money without our consent. They accused my husband of stealing!

My husband cannot get stressed, he can have a seizure, I also called our local store that same day, I was pretty mad, that when my husband called me and told me what they did, I thought he was going to end up in the hospital with a grand mal seizure due to Aarons taking the money out of our account without notifying us. When I called, they told me the GM would call me back, which they never did. It put our account into the negative, I am trying to figure out whether to call them to tell them they no longer have the right to do that. I called our bank, they told me I have to talk to them, tell them they do not have the right to do that anymore. My bank told me if it happens , after denying them access, I can change our checking code. Not sure if anyone else's bank is like that, but it is worth talking to your bank about it. Without disrupting anything that is automatically taken out.

I have just decided to send them a money order, knowing the store is local, they stepped across the line when it involves my husband's health. They seem to think they are allowed access when you give them your checking acct #, without your authorization.

My wife and I are having the same problems that everybody else is having, but this is in San Marcos, TX. We make our payments with our bank card monthly, and they seem to take money out of my account without our consent almost every month. We have numerously called and complained to the managers in their store and they give us attitude even cursed us out. I have also numerously tried calling the GM of the company and I have never received a call, and I have called over 3 times and spoke with the GM's secretary and she constantly tells me that he will contact me, which hes never done. They call and harass us almost everyday of the month. When we sign the contract we signed up to pay on the 15th of every month, well they start calling and harassing us on the 1st of every month demanding a payment. So we tell them, "look at the contract, we are supposed to pay on the 15th of every month, NOT THE 1st", and then they say "oh yeah, your right". But then the next day and everyday after that they do it all over again. This has been so frustrating and stressful. We are to the point where we are going to have to take legal actions. I thought that taking money out of someones account without their consent is THEFT. For example: what if I was to use a friends credit card one month to make a payment then i gave my friend cash back in return, and then aarons takes out money every month out of my friends account, that has nothing to do with the product that I bought, that would be theft. Thats the same predicament that I'm in. If anyone has any advice to share please get back with me ASAP.

I forgot to add that my husband and I live in a military town, we don't make alot of money, like the other customers that have complained, I don't like it when a place of business takes advantage of their customers. I feel my husband was taken advantage of, and was way overcharged for this vacuum!

I would like to put in a complaint as well. My husband and I bought a dyson animal vacuum ( with the ball), I called the store to ask how much a month the payments are and for how many months.
The woman said $90 / month for twelve months. We are paying for two vacuum cleaners! Especially when I called another store and they sell the same thing for about $600. The finance charges should not be $540! And we bought the vacuum back in October of last year, it should have been paid off by now, why are these people overcharging their customers. I want the phone # of the president of the company!

I have been having the same problems here in Reading,Pa. The Aaron's that I go to is ridiculous. We leased a 52 inch tv with a sony dream system dvd for 95 bucks every two weeks. For the first year the people were great with us, no problem if we were late, accepted partial payments and all which was very humble of them. But the second year isn't going so great. We are charged a late payment every time we go in weather were 1 day late or 5 days late. They are constantly calling and harassing us. They sit outside of our house and watch to see if were home . I feel like I'm being invaded. Over Christmas they came and took our tv and dvd system... 2 days before Christmas... because we were 2 days late. We promised them the money the next day and they still took it... at 9pm at night. So then in order to get our stuff back we had to sign a 2 month extension contract (which would be an extra 400 dollars...like we dont pay enough as it is) Recently my husband had gone in to make a payment of 100 dollars because we were 6 days late and they refused his payment. They said because he did not have 106 dollars that they wouldn't accept it. We only have 4 payments left... when in all reality it should have been payed off by now, and they want to be unfair. I'm having trouble contacting anyone above my store managers head. I f anyone has any advice I would highly appreciate it.

I have had the same experience with Aarons in St. Louis, MO I found this website trying to find their corporate office address. I need to go above the regional manager's head. I need a website so I can get somewhere.

My hubby and I are having problems too with Aaron in Evet WA. I just complained to the state attorneys general office and also the BBB of wa state. They come to my door and ask for payment when I found out that it is illegal for them to do that. We have been with the store since it opened and they know my hubbys situation but since the new manager came in there, they come to our door at like 8 at night. They cannot just take your tv etc...it is your home and they cannot just come in and take it. I am also consulting an attorney and I also complained to the President of the company as well.

My wife and I too are having trouble with an Aarons leasing store located in Murfreesboro TN. At the end of September 2006, my wife purchased a 52 inch Tv from Aarons. She bought this TV for me for my birthday. She paid cash for the TV and thought the transaction was finished. At the very end of November of the same year a lady knocks on our door demanding pay for the TV and saying that if we do not pay that they are coming to pick up the TV on the next day. To make a long story short...we go into the store on the next day to hopefully resolve the issue and while in the store we are treated like complete crap. The manager out right calls us liars and demands that we bring his merchandise back to the store immediately. He refuses to take payment from me unless it is in cash form until later in the whole incident...Well now, they are threatening to go to the court and they say they are sure that they will get their tv back. Oh, and don't let me forget. Somehow my wife lost the receipt...but they also don't have a signature on the leasing papers. They are saying that she leased the TV and my wife is saying that she paid cash...this is going to be a very sticky situation.

Anyone else experienced anything like this at all...any info would help a lot.
Thanks,
