I like this mostly because it is unique. I was intrigued enough to spring for a month membership to give myself time to really check out what the ad had to offer. After several days I feel comfortable say that none of the prices for content and time are justified. I get that there is a certain level of production expenditure that comes with creating photos and videos to go with the text content, but the photoshopping is obvious in places where a minutes effort would have been needed to get the real thing. The videos make no attempt to do anything other than poorly deliver lines, paying no mind to setting or character. There is a ton of potential in this, but I think the developers need to hire some more legit writing staff to create more realistic convos, more relatable better written characters, and more nuanced storylines. I would love nothing more than to plop myself down wherever these guys are working and set them to the task of marking this an essential app to have, or at least one that is worth the money they expect, but could considering how unlikely that is to happen, I will just tell whomever is still reading this that it is currently not worth what they want you to pay. The suspense of having to wait and hour probably does more for you than the story itself.

Ok 1) stop trying to steal my money by trying to get me to buy a subscription 2) the videos to speed up the wait time don't work. In fact it starts the wait time over. 3) only add stories when there is a decent amount of episodes because it's annoying that they all end on cliffhangers but there is nothing left to read in the story. 4) allow people to choose the stories instead of randomly mixing them up. I personally prefer the horrors/thrillers so it would be nice if I didn't have to read the gossips and stuff. 5) tell people about how long it will take for new episodes to come out for a story. I'm hooked on mystery dog and bruises but I have no idea when I will be able to read more. 6) It's really dumb that the player has to pay to see the pictures. I mean really! All you can do is read one short episode at a time without using real money. It makes the game get old and boring really fast! I know you just updated the app but please update again ASAP because the last update didn't fix ANYTHING! Also a suggestion is to include a few short video clips to go along with some of the more intense episodes. It would make it much more interesting and AWESOME! But a player shouldn't have to pay to see the said videos because that would ruin it. Thanks and I hope you take my advice to heart!

i don’t like this app at all. it’s nothing like you see in the ads or what is says it is. you literally can’t do anything without the page popping up about the subscription you have to pay for if you want to unlock that story. at first when you open the app it leads you to a free story. but the annoying thing is, if there was a picture sent in the text you aren’t allowed to view it unless you buy the subscription. i don’t want to pay for everything i do! and after you finish that story, it leaves you off with a cliffhanger and won’t let you read part 2 without buying the subscription? than i look through all the categories of stories trying to find a free one and every one i click on it says i have to pay for it! and i assumed that after you read the free story it gave you, you would earn some gems and be able to unlock more stories without paying. but no. i didn’t get anything after reading that pointless story that wasn’t even good. i had the game for about 30 minutes and after i couldn’t even find any more free stories that were actually good, (because it makes you pay if you want to read a good one) i just got so frustrated and deleted it. i dont recommend this app unless you want to buy a whole subscription for like $50 and it most likely won’t be worth it anyway. this app was a waste of time. i wish i could give it 0 stars.

The first one was pretty creepy it was like an interactive creepypasta! A quality one too! I had chills which is saying something because I love love love horror! Finally an app to enjoy! The wait wasn't too bad till the next episode... okay I'll wait, that was pretty good and worth the wait! :) the next 5 were pretty awesome too I think... the forth came and it was insanely stupid... I'm sorry... that's frank yes but it was... it was a teenager having a conversation about what she should text this guy and both girls I think had the same name... I think? It was pretty confusing, it went no where and ended without anything happening... ever since then the stories were pretty similar.. no point no conclusions... just confusing teenage problems and angst.. there are some stories that are horror but they sound like they are written by middle schoolers then someone died they go "wjegwjwowywbekk" and throw in some emojis like.." " like they'd be texting that as they die! Which is silly and adds nothing haha.. might as well text "oh no I'm dead! This sticks being dead and all!" App needs some work sorry I love it at times maybe a little more consistent or maybe the choice about what to read? Or maybe that's just premium I'm not sure at all.. maybe if you want us getting premium let us what improvements we'd be getting? Idk great potential though apologies that I'm such a tough critic.

This app is just a complete ripoff. The stories aren’t even that great, and you have to pay just to look at the stories! I even looked at what this app had and most of the time it was always something nobody would wanna see. This app is completely disgusting, annoying, and weird. So please don’t waste your time on getting it, you’re gonna be disappointed. All these people want is money, they don’t want your entertainment. I rather just get another app that actually doesn’t want money but people’s entertainment, and one that doesn’t make you pay for ever single story you try to read. The stories most likely give people nightmares. I’ve seen so many ads on this stupid app, and when I finally downloaded it, it literally made me regret it the second I opened it. Work on your app skills, they are seriously not good. The app itself gives you second thoughts, and makes you feel like you did something wrong when you open it. Don’t waste your time, other apps similar to this are way better then whatever this was supposed to be. I also had so many problems when it came to signing in. You had to include an email, and passcode. It would send me to Apple care right away. I didn’t need Apple care. I needed to see if the app was actually worth it. Which it wasn’t. It wouldn’t even give you a free trial! And even if it did, it only last a week and then you would have to pay ten dollars every week after that. That’s $50 if I used it for five weeks. So in conclusion, don’t get this app. You’re gonna regret it.

I saw some of the ads for this app, and I will admit I was somewhat intrigued by it. "Why not, I like scary stories," I figured. Upon downloading, I was disappointed for multiple reasons.

The premise is, you're being told a story from the point of view of two people texting back and forth while experiencing it. An interesting concept, sure, but there are some flaws.

For one, the way they approach it requires you to suspend your disbelief more than you normally would for a horror story. (Why would you still be texting your boyfriend while you're being chased by a killer? It's just not believable) This is more or less excusable on its own, but at the same time the stories themselves are painfully generic, which together just make the stories fall flat. Even so, it would be somewhat acceptable if not for my main gripe, which I'm sure you've read about in other reviews by now.

The photos and videos - the only things that could have made the lackluster stories more interesting - are hidden behind micro transactions. And not just a one-time "pay one dollar to get rid of ads and unlock photos and videos" either - no, that would be almost acceptable. This is something you have to subscribe to. And it's not a small price either, especially considering what you're paying for.

I understand that you have to make money. I understand you didn't just make this app out of the kindness of your hearts. But marketing this as a free app and then giving people half of what they wanted is just not acceptable.

One star. I cannot recommend enough that you don't waste your time on this app.

This story is about a young girl who walks home from school and sees her little sister sitting in the corner of her room possessedb blood gold eyes and wrinkly skin she was just about to feed her food and eat lunch but than she heard a scream and dashed up to her room and saw her sitters eyes turn inside out and white then she pulls out her phone for 911 but the wifi connection was shut if she heard her sister laughing and steping down the stairs so she quickly ran out the back door into the forest she texts her mom and then sees a little shadow walk towards her in the forest,would she survive? Then her sister sees her in sight so she dashed towards her and she saw her in the flash in the corner of her eye and ran for her life and dropped her phone but she knew she had to run. Then her little sister sees her phone and stops so she ran back to the house shut the blinds,locked the windows, and locked all the doors and turned off the lights. Her sister nocticed her little sister was not there anymore so she quickly ran to a nearby house knocked and they Answered. The she told them the situation so the neighbors said we have to take her to a Priest. So the crew snuck in the house beasuase she forgot to lock the security door. And they snuck in . Then they grabbed her and chained her in a chair in the car. Then they drove up towards the church the brought her in and chained her in a chair. Then the Priest started saying prayers and then the sister started to drool and her eyes turned green and she act crazy then a black shadow came out of her mouth then she passed out. They all were worried for a Second the she blinked and then the two sisters went home that night and everything was back to normal.

The stories are good but they need to be longer every time I read a new story I have to wait 25 minutes to read the next half! ☹️ Don't get me wrong, but I hate that it happens! Another thing is that we have to pay to see the picture nobody wants to pay everyone just wants to see the picture so if you want people to like your app then fix the problems that I told you! otherwise I love the app Also another thing I think that you couldn't take having hooked a better app then yours well it is as soon as I saw that we have to pay to speed up time and to see the pictures I went to the App Store to see if there are better apps and I downloaded hooked it is a lot better you don't have to pay that much you can pick any story and they have scarier stories then yarn so if you want a good app and save your money go download hooked ITS BETTER !
Yarn if you see this then fix the problems I will like your app a lot more ! I hate your app now, also your app has to fix the name nobody likes yarn it is a stupid unmatched bratty selfish name for a app a better name would be like attracted or addicted but no you have to pick yarn is is soooooo stupid plus only cats play with yarn we all love cats and dogs so if you really wanted to have a animal name for this app then you would name it dats it's a combination of cats and dogs I would recommend you fix the problems I told you and then you will have people coming back for the app ! I love the app otherwise but because of the problems I only gave you one star ⭐️ Sorry not my fouls the app is bad ☹️ I just have to say one last thing! When I got this app, I was immediately struck by how restrictive it was (read past these complaints for positive changes). The choices were to either wait for a new small section of the story every 30 minutes and see no pictures or videos (typically unnecessary, but occasionally crucial), or pay $4.99 per month to gain access to faster section release and the attachments. This upset me, as it made the entirety of the app pointless to me. It was impossible to get a good feeling for the app, the mood was constantly assassinated, and important parts were missing with the pictures. As such, I sent in complaints when it prompted a request to help improvement.
Oh my, improve they did. Whether they actually listened to me, or came to the proper conclusion themselves, they allowed the viewing of ads when I reopened the app about a week later. The ads aren’t unjustifiably long, and they allow access to pictures, videos, and the ability to skip wait times. This alone improved the app far beyond its previous state. Suddenly, it’s possible to use it, “lite edition,” and not completely necessary to pay.
Now that I can judge the app in its entirety, I can safely say my opinion of worth. As long as the ads are there, it’s worth giving a chance to impress you. The stories I’ve looked at aren’t spectacular, but they are good and can draw a sense of urgency and emotion. I don’t see the app as worth paying the full price for, for ME, but it’s rather plausible that it’s because I’m a mild cheapskate with a vendetta against subscription fees, and proud of it. It’s worth every ad, though, and I intend to keep using it.
All in all, I simply recommend trying the app. Give it a chance to impress you! If you enjoy it, consider the subscription, or the ad-mongering frugality that I choose. If not, you can easily delete the app.

About 3 days ago I was wanting to read stories. I already had the apps lure and hooked. They were honestly good apps. So I forgot that I used to have yarn so I downloaded it back. So once the timer started on hooked and lure I decided to go yarn. So they started me off with a story THEY CHOSE. I was kind of fine with that but it was a little weird. They didn’t even ask what genre I wanted my story to be in. I was into the story but then the timer went on so I went to the other apps. Once the timer was done I went back to read the rest. That’s when it gets juicy. So I tried to continue and it said to pay 4.99 a month to continue or pay for the V.I.P Membership. Also it cost money to see anything other then the words. I thought it was just a bug so I went searching for another story to read. I clicked on one and it said I needed a “V.I.P Membership” so I just thought oh maybe this was created by a V.I.P author or something, I clicked on multiple different stories and it said the same thing. I just feel if everything in the app is gonna the app should cost money. That is just wasting others time who probably don’t even have 5 dollars to pay every month for some stories. I just wanted to let the creators know that they should update that. Also if you wanted to make more money then you are right now without wasting peoples time you should put advertisements on your app to just sponsor other apps to get payed. It’s not really effecting users since you already downgraded since the first time I downloaded this app. I deleted it because it was kind of getting pointless that if your timer started you can’t read anything else. I just downloaded it because I thought it at least upgraded. I was disappointed to find out that it did yet the opposite and wanted storage on my phone and time. I would rather download some dumb baby game. I just wish you could let me and other users at least be able to finish one story. Every app on my phone is a 4.5 or over start rating. This is kind of a disappointment. When somebody confronts you about it in the reviews you just basically tell them to type that all over again in a email to send to you. You have all these complaints but you still have not upgraded. I like you don’t even care. What was going on in your heard when you made the app free. Y’all are acting like you wrote the stories. You stole it from others. I could easily go to the library and get a free story to read. You might wanna just delete the whole app. Hopefully you read this because you obviously don’t read the other ones.

Good stories and app but don’t purchase the subscriptions, unless you want to spend a crap ton amount of time trying to cancel it

It glitches three times, I could read anything, so I deleted it, I've downloaded three times, I deleted 3 times, I will not download it again!

Just pay for subscription for pics and more contents but what I've got is that the app keep saying that my subscription is expired and again and again!

They say you can go to settings to delete account but the app does not have any settings so i still get charged $2.99 a month and have no idea how to cancel my account

The first time I downloaded this app I got excited but when I started the app I felt sad, after it told to pick something I like it wouldn’t let me do anything and even after I restarts the app I doesn’t work

Unless you are okay with your money being taken, I don’t think you should get this. I downloaded the app but then quickly deleted it because I didn’t want it anymore. I deleted it but it managed to still take away my money, until it totaled to 55$ this makes me really angry, definitely do not recommend this app!

Same problem a lot of people seem to have. I’m ok with watching the ad for the next episode to play, but after I watch the ad it doesn’t play and tell me to watch the ad again and it never ends. I’ll wait 24 hours to get back on and it will only play one episode before that same crap happens again. I love this app so plz fix it

I started a story and literally read on a little bit and I used to have this app and when a picture came up you could watch a video to see it now you have to pay money and you only read a bit of the convo and then it’s like wait this long until you can read it or you have to pay I think that is kind of pointless to pay for everything at least make some things free and also when I went to pick a different story you also have to pay and $69.00/Year just to read a couple of cheesy stories puh-leese

Well, I got this app because one of my friends recommended it, I did the free trial and ended up not liking it. I deleted the app but kept getting charges from it. It took a bunch of my money along with hooked which I also don’t like. I’m not a tech savvy chick so I didn’t know how to cancel the subscription, and I cant download any new app because than it asks for my billing info and just takes more money, the only reason it’s not right now is because I had a pre-paid visa that is now empty thanks to yarn/hooked. I don’t recommend getting either app unless you fully intend to keeping it forever.
