Worx / RW Direct bad product, false advertising

Bought product online first of august last year. I used it a few times before the season was over, and stored it indoors, following all precautions to avoid killing the batteries. Come spring, one battery wouldn't chage at all, called and getting another one sent to me via warranty. In the meantime, it's well past the date they said they'd have it out to me by, and now the other battery takes a crap on me. WTF? This is a LITIUM ION battery. These things last for years, or are supposed to, at least. Reading online here I see I am far from the only person experiencing battery issues. I've placed a call to have another one sent out to me...had to leave a message as I was 90th in line. Hopefully the next set will work, whenever they get here. If it breaks again, I'll rebuild the battery packs myself, but I think I'd recommend you stay away from this product. Way too many similar complaints for it to be a mere coincidence.

Worx / RW Direct battery

As advertised, the Worx grass trimmer was supposed to go around a football field twice without charging it. Ours is out in 20 minutes. We want a new charger or a complete refund.

NOTE: The reason to attach and detach the battery that I mentioned before is because in that way you will clean the part of the battery contacts that's unreachable from the outside. I have not attempted to open the battery (which I suggest you don't do) because this exercise has worked wonderfully to the ones I've had to help "survive". Again, good luck!

To all of you having the battery problem, clean battery and corresponding trimmer contacts with a Q-Tip and alcohol. If this is not enough, attach and detach the battery to the unplugged charger MULTIPLE times and in between this, connect the charger with the battery and check that the red light is on. Keep doing the the above exercisse ibut if it now acts properly dance and yell hurray! Rmember to remove the battery when not in use.; wait for the battery to cool down before recharging it; don't keep charging it overnight, only until it turns green. It is important to drain completely the battery before attempting recharges in order to maximize the battery capacity. Keep the battery in a ventilated, free of dust place. If you are going to store the trimmer for a while, please recharge the battery at least once a month. This type of battery is somewhat tricky so with this suggestions, you will go with the flow. It has worked all the times with the ones I've managed to "fix", if this can be considered such. At least they are usable again and again! Good luck to all! Wilma F.

YES... I agree, The problem is NOT with the unit. it is with the battery and the charger. It does NOT charge despite the "green light" indicator. IF Worx would address the battery problems, then they would have a winner. However they do not, or have not yet, so what are we the CONSUMER Customers supposed to do ? Their HELP does not help and offer no solutions...

Worx / RW Direct Buyer beware

I Purchased a Worx Gt in March. Battery does not last to go around 1 foodball fields 2 times as advertised. The unit appears to be well constructed but its utility far less than what has been advertised. I have emailed them twice about the problem. It has been used about 5 times this summer. The WORX GT does not work, the battery only lasts about 20 minutes per 6 hour charge. The cutting string constantly breaks so you cant go but a few feet before you are stopping to take the unit apart and re thread the line. When you return the unit they will send you a "FREE" return label via e mail. That free label comes with a $14 charge you will later find out. Then on top of all that they continue to bill your credit card the remaining charges because they "Had a computer glitch" and it will take another 4-6 weeks to clear the glitch and The Service was closed when I called at 09:45 MST within the published hours on Saturday. I assume I will be out the original shipping and the return shipping amounting to a probable overall direct monetary loss of $50 for the experiment and experience besides the time wasted on the phone and shipping the unit back. "hopefully" then get your refund processed. SIMPLY - Buyer Beware! Dont get taken like I did.

I bought the WorkGt 18 Volt trimmer 6 months ago and the battery charger said it was charged and the battery "Did the last 5 minutes" I called the customer service center and told them that the battery will not keep its charge. They sent ne a new battery and a new charger this did the same thing. I then again called the company and I said that the battery and the charger they sent me did not work either. it seams when the trimer said it was charged the motor did not have the power to do its job. This company offer me that they would send me a new 24 volt workgt trimmer I said keep it. I encourage people not to buy this trimmer. I wasted $130.00 for a boat anchor. "I will not buy any product fro this company".

Worx / RW Direct Junk-false advertising

Wasted good money on this product. The first battery stayed charged for 15 minutes and went bad after just two weeks. They did send me a new battery which again held a charge for 15 minutes. Now they are playing games with me. They claimed they would send me a new charger because now they are saying that the charger must be a problem but they never did and when I call back to question them they disconnect me. They advertise that you can trim around three or four football fields on one charge...baloney...15 minutes...can you run around four football fields in fifteen minutes...can you trim while running...These people need to be shut down and made to return the money they stole...I for one am tired of scams and ripoffs.

Great Service no complaint! WORX by Positecusa now has GREAT SERVICE! I just wanted to let you all know that PositecUSA company, the distributors of the WORX Edger/trimmer is now doing a great job of handling customer complaints. I was able to get through via email to a customer service rep and he emailed me right away and is not only taking care of the problem of the faulty battery but also following up to be sure I am satisfied. Worx / RW Direct Battery/Charger (Poor customer service)

I purchased a Worx GT approx. two months ago. I have only used this product twice. After the second time using it the battery stopped charging. I am not sure if this is the charger or the battery, but now I have this two month old trimmer that will not work. I sat on the phone for over an hour and have sent two messages via the contact me link. NOTHING! No one has contacted me back and no one will answer the phone. I will be reaching out to an executive there today and the BBB.

My Worx blower which I received end of May 2014 was first used in mid June.. Worked fine.. Second time, clip broke off the strap.. no biggie.. third time in July on a full charge the battery stopped cold.. It ran for 3 seconds then stopped.. this continued for 10 minutes until I became so frustrated I tried AGAIN to contact this company.. Forget it.. I left my phone number with them on various days of the week for 3 weeks. This company supposedly warrants their blowers for three years.. They are nothing but a SCAM company.. They have no customer service.. there is NO customer service.. I will NOT spend any more money on this piece of garbage. I will take this matter to a higher level and I'm sure I will get a full refund after I'm done with them. It's an awful shame that companies such as this advertise false claims regarding a product. They take your money and RUN! I REFUSE TO LET THE GET AWAY WITH THIS!

Tried and tried to get new battery when mine failed. Kept getting the automated system and thought I was getting a new battery. Finally mine died and I consistently emailed and called customer care. Did get a new battery but my charger is bad. Haven't even gotten to use the new battery. They won't stand behind the charger now that it is out of warranty. Wasn't out of warranty when I started complaining. Doesn't matter. WORX CUSTOMER SERVICE DOESN'T CARE! LOUSY LOUSY LOUSY! Wish I could take out a full page add in the USA TODAY and let the country know they stink and don't care. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!

We have now had our worx gt 2 months. Battery is not charging. I was looking for a solution when I came upon this site. We were looking at the new Jawsaw. I know now not to waste the money. It would have been fine that they had a battery problem, but to have it and not address the issue as well as take care of their numerous customers is just horrible. It is important that we as burned customers let all that we know about this. Save others their hard earned money and put a dent in this companies business. It is the only way to get big business attention. They only respond when there is a loss of sales!

Worx / RW Direct No charge, loses charge customer service sucks!

Bought whole set when product first came out. Bought extra battery as recommended by other customers before me. Under two years my biggest frustration is the battery life. Absolute crap. Trimmer string doesn't automatically feed. I have a very small front yard, and two batteries barely handle it. So, after 15 minutes waiting for someone to answer their customer service number, they tell me the best they can do is put in an order for me to purchase a new blower & trimmer with the new better battery. Hey WORX, try coming up with a better battery for the poor souls that bought your product when you first came out. Battery technology is pretty advanced these days, you guys should try to do better by your customers. That would keep them coming back to your product as opposed to hating how you screwed them. Yes, I do know how batteries function best. These are just absolute crap.

Worx / RW Direct poor service, false adv.

Purchased a Worx Gt in April. Battery does not last to go around 3 foodball fields as advertised. I get about 15-20 on a charge and it takes 24 hours for a new charge. Now the battery will not charge at all. I think it is the charger. I have emailed them twice about the problem. It has been used about 9 times this summer.

Worx / RW Direct Poor product /Customer Service-DO NOT BUY!!

I purchased the GT Trimmer and Blower combo with the lithium battery on April 26, 2010. I began using the product in mid June, and after approximately six uses, the battery will not hold a charge. I am not sure if the problem is the battery itself or the charger. I sent several email communications via the WORKX web site and included a copy of the order detail and payment, but I have not yet received a response. Additionally, I attempted to call customer service and both times I was on hold for more that 30 minutes before I decided to hang up. This is totally unacceptable!
I urge you not to purchase a product that does not work as advertised and as a company exhibits very poor customer service.

I bought the product and the battery life, both the lithium and the regular battery, is significantly shorter, and it takes longer to charge. The auto feed works 50% of the time. It's light and with a longer battery life would be excellent.

This is certainly not the sort of action on the part of the company, that would promote consumer confidence, perhaps a boycott of the product is the best message that can be sent. These fly by night companies are sensitive to their cash flow drying up.

They must be relying on there product which is good but there CUSTOMER SERVICE was one of the worst I ever dealt with. Not once did they respond to my e-mails, they lie to me about my order when I received my order which was the cordless blower/sweeper their was NO battery there was a charger. When I e-mail them about it, I never got an answer or respond and I call them about it they said they would get a battery out to me, so when I call to check if they got one coming to me the person said I don't see a battery order for you to ship so I'm canceling my order.Beware if you can find the worx products with out dealing with there CUSTOMER SERVICE GO FOR IT!

Same sort of thing here, they have failed to replace a faulty part, will not give me their registered address, this is the worst customer service department I have ever dealt with, I wish I would have bought a Bosch. I suggest any potential customers buy a Bosch. Bosch also have a decent customer service department. Do not buy anything from these cowboys.

I tried to order replacement Batteries for my Combo kit. They said I was eligible for free replacements due to being less then a year old. I went on line to the Battery Page and ordered and put in the serial number for my batteries and the coupon code they sent me and then it said hit submit. It kicked me out and back to the WORX home page. When tried a second time it said then the Battery serial Numbers were already used and would not let me order. I then tried to call for two days. Never an answer and e-mail does not seem to work. I called the Parts line and they answered and said I should call the line that never answers and that the battery was not their problem. Imagine that,
They never respond. The customer service is the worst I have ever seen for a company who prides itself on its products.
If I could get all my money back I would return the products to them. I have not even had them a year and cannot use them.
What a company. Anyone and any blog I can I will post about there lousy service. Until they make this right I hope to tell as many persons I can not to buy these products.

Worx / RW Direct lack of power

The power of this trimmer was very disappointing. It may trim short grass 3 times around a football field as in the TV ad, but in my yard it could not trim the tall grass around posts, under steps, and around areas my lawnmower cannot reach, as it struggled to trim and stay up to power. I still only have done about 2/3 of our yard and it is charging for the 4th time. Also, the tool is too short for my husband to use without leaning over. The reason I thought it would be a good tool for him is because it was supposed to be light weight. But he cannot use it because it causes him to bend over too much.

One more thing I would like to add. They charge $145 if you pay in one payment. My total credit w hen the tool is finally received by them will be $103. This is the cost of the trimmer - 119.85 + 26.12 shipping/hand - = 145 then my final return is $103 plus the cost of shipping to them $16.62 This is the info I took from someone who I was struggled to understand his accent. He was polite, but difficult for me to understand.

What a rip off - I may finally be cured of purchasing tools from infomercials!

I price match with HomeDepot.com, get great deal on mower, rep says hes charging $370 to my credit card (otherwise it would be $492 w/o price match). I drive to store, find out they don't have it in stock and it will be delivered on the 12th.

Get home, find out I was charged $492, call store, they won't help. I call online support number, they tell me I will be credited after I pick up the package.

4/12/2010, Pick up package at store, still charged $492. Call online support, they found error in how original rep handled price match, submit claim to Corporate, should hear back in 3-5 bus. days.

4/13/2010, Hear back via email, they won't help, say I need to call local store.

Call local store, get transferred to Regional Call Center, they say they can't help and forward me to Online Solutions.

Online Solutions can't help either, they submit claim to Corporate, should get personal call back in 24 - 48 hours. Given Claim # to call back with if I have more issues.

2 hours later, get a call back, they can't help me as it was bought online (now I'm confused) and I either have to speak with the Store Manager or call Online Solutions.

I call the Online Solutions number and give the lady my Claim #. She says that this is not the Online number but it is the National Support Number. She won't help, transfers me to whatever the Online number is.

Online Support guy can't help me, says I need to call National Support number (confused yet?) I tell him this wont help as they just transferred me to him! He has me hold (for the 3rd time with him alone) to find out he will transfer me to a Claims Manager.

Finally get on the phone with a Claims Manager (lost count on how many reps I've spoken to). She says because the package already shipped, Online cannot credit me what I am owed. She tried calling local Coon Rapids, MN store and the store manager would not return a call. She needs the store manager to talk to her to work it out.

I call the local Coon Rapids store, tell auto-prompt I want to speak with the Store Manager (amazingly she says "Oh, you want to speak with a Manager, one moment"...I couldn't believe that worked). I get some local rep on the phone, tell her the name of the manager I need to speak to...she says she is out, but she will connect me with Mike in Lawn and Garden who will solve my issue (FINALLY).

Get on the phone with Mike, tell him my schpeal (for the 10th time at least). He says he can help, he's done this before (surprise). He will call back in 10 minutes after looking into Price match (which was already approved by the way).

He calls back, wont do price match, local Home Depots dont have in stock and they are out of stock online (just my luck), even though I have a printout from last week saying they have them in stock. I decide to return the mower, fortunately I left it in the box...he says that is fine.

3 trips to/from local store, over 10 support reps dealt with over the phone...NEVER shopping at Sears again. Besides for their support reps being nice and having fast response times...they suck at getting things done and just pass the buck constantly (which is why they have fast response times).

Oh, happy ending...found the same damn mower online, for Home Depot price, with no tax, and was able to use a coupon to get cheapest deal out there...Eat that Sears! :) Win Win for me!

Worx / RW Direct - Poor product

Product does not work as advertised. Battery life is much shorter than stated and takes longer to charge than stated as well (if you can get the battery to charge). Infomercial states that the line automatically feeds which it does about 20% of the time.

Worx / RW Direct Do not waste your time

Don't waste your time but mostly your money on the Worx trimmer/edger that is advertised on tv. It doesn't work like as it is shown on tv...Shipping charges are unreal. If you do decide to try it and change your mind and want to return it. Be prepared to pay in excess of $50.00 in shipping fees and nothing to show for it except your receipts.

Fully charged, this trimmer had the power of an electric toothbrush. It barely cut the grass and no it did not automatically feed line as advertised. I do not think it was defective, it was justly poorly designed. I owned a Sears Craftsman rechargeable trimmer in the past. It had 10X the power of the WORX WG150-1X3P Trimmer.
This company engages in nothing short of FRAUD. They know the products they are selling are junk. They make their money off of the S & H charges. I am out $39.18 to these crooks. They are the dictionary definition of Fraud: deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM.
