Winnipeg Free Press The customer service and systems ain't aligned

The customer service and systems ain't aligned. I talked to a Winnipeg Free Press agent on October 8 to make a payment overdue on my accountant asked for subscription to be cancelled starting week of October 18. There was no paper delivered on October 9, called again and spoke to Another agent in customer service. I asked why the paper wasn't delivered and if there was a problem. I had made the payment updates to take it to week of October 18. They said the stop was requested due to overdue payment in system before the payment yesterday. I asked why the stop wasn't lifted even though I made the payment and did the setup for an additional week by paying by days for additional days. They said it will be lifted next Tuesday. That's how our system work. I asked for a reference number for this call as the call from yesterday left things half done and the stop was not lifted. They said they cannot give me a reference number but the call is recorded. I asked how will I reference this conversation when I call back without a reference number. They said they're sorry, the system does not allow it. In that case, I said I would like to cancel my service and will like to get a refund as nothing seems to work in your system properly. They said my refund is $11 and some cents but they cannot refund it to me as minimum refund amount is $20. That's how are system works. I asked if they're serious and what are my options. They said it is not them it is the system, they're sorry but my best option is to continue the paper until the subscription runs out. I asked if I could get the Saturday paper resent to me. They said they can send it on Tuesday next week but not today as they will have to pay the delivery boy $20 to deliver it today and my balance is less than that. I said this is very poor customer service and very poorly setup system. I then repeated to her what she had told me and asked if there was someone else who can help. They asked if I want to speak to another agent and she can talk to me in ***. I asked what they mean and if I said I needed translation or if they're not able to follow English. I asked how they thought of making this a language or a racial issue. They said happy thanksgiving and hung up. I needed to just get the paper delivered as it is the Saturday paper but instead was faced with yet another poor experience call.

Winnipeg Free Press Winnipeg Free Press has done it again, adding on a huge monthly charge without even asking us

Winnipeg Free Press has done it again, adding on a huge monthly charge without even asking us. Just last month, they jacked up the price from $26 to $46 a month! When my wife called to complain, they wouldn't even credit our account. How can they just do this without even telling us first? It's not cool to double the bill and then act like we won't notice. We've been loyal customers for years! The excuse they gave my wife was totally ridiculous. They better give us back that $20 difference, or else!

Winnipeg Free Press I got a tax receipt from WFP in Spring 2022, but my printer was broken

I got a tax receipt from WFP in Spring 2022, but my printer was broken. I asked them to send it by mail, but they refused. They suggested I email it to a friend and have them print it. I had to go and get it myself. Today, I didn't get my Free Press, so I called them. No one answered the phone. I emailed them, but no response. I called again, but got the same message: "Your call is next in line". No customer service. It's frustrating because we're subscribers and can't contact them by phone.

I get da paper from da Winnipeg Free Press on Saturdays only. Dey called on Feb 8th to cancel da paper, but dey said dey couldn't give me a refund for under $*** so I gotta keep getting da paper until March 4th. We wanted to switch to da digital subscription dat we already had wit our delivery, but it didn't go so smooth. On March 6th, $*** got taken outta our bank account. We called back and dey said dey would give us a refund of $***, but we still gotta pay $*** for 2 weeks of paper delivery. We stopped getting da paper on March 4th, which is what we paid for da previous month. Dey won't give us all our money back and dey can't even explain why dey takin' it. I know we gettin' everything but da $*** back, but if ya can't explain why ya can't give me da refund, why ya keepin' it? Dey won't even give us a refund check and said we can't do dat. Da customer service is terrible and dey don't even know what dey doin'. Don't waste ya money on dis paper.
