Waste Management [WM] Trash pick-up

I live in an apartment complex. Earlier this morning, a waste management truck picked up our garbage and in doing so knocked down some internet cable lines. I was never called or notified regarding this. I work from home, so not having internet makes it impossible to work. Waste management never reported the issue or contacted me. I had to discover it myself. At no point has waste management contacted me about apologizing or helping me with lost income.

Desired outcome: Waste management acknowledges the issue, contacts me for an apology, and discuss compensation.

Waste Management [WM] Customer service and won't refund

I have called customer service for a week, 3 times. They collected my payment 2 times and was supposed to issue a refund. One person said 24 to 48 hours, the next person said 3 business days and then got hateful when I stated that day was day 4, and the 3rd, he was the worst. He told me it was credited to my account, wouldn't help me get that refunded, I stated I wanted to cancel service cause of the ineptitude. He said I can't cause of the contract. He sent me the contract and it states if the company doesn't perform.. Well this is terrible performance. Also, I told him I could get a dumpster for over 100 cheaper and weekly pickup from another company and he got hateful. Poor company. Overcharge, lie, and horrible customer service. Oh and the rising rates.. Never been notified and they can't claim fuel until the past couple of years. My payment never goes down when fuel is cheap but continues to go up.

Desired outcome: Refund the over payment and cancel service. Been with the company for over 10 years and this is pathetic.

Waste Management [WM] Trying to cancel trash pick up

They already removed our can because they claimed it was damaged. No need for a removal fee - that we never agreed to. We signed with a different company that WM bought out. Just don’t bring a new can and don’t come back. This company has terrible customer service. They pick up trash when they feel like it, then get an attitude when you ask them to come get trash. They still charge the overpriced full charge regardless of if they show up every week or not. Now because we would rather just do it ourselves we have to pay fees for a can to be removed that’s already been removed! This is ridiculous. Take the monthly bill and go away! I do not see a point in paying a removal fee for a can that is not here at all. And the other fees, take those from all the months we were charged full price for services we did not get.

Desired outcome: I do not want to pay cancellation fees that we never agreed to pay.

Waste Management [WM] Dumpster removal

During removal of a 20 yard dumpster, driver clipped rear end of a personal work truck. Photos taken just prior to dumpster removal, and just after; clearly show new damage to truck, tracks in the yard from WM truck, and broken talilight pieces on ground following dumpster removal. Incident was immediately reported. three months later, WM has denied the claim because there is no "proof". The evidence is most definitely not circumstantial. The evidence is clear and the pictures more than support that. We are a smaller company but have more than a dozen accounts with WM. We understand that accidents can and will happen, we only ask to be remedied when they do. Very disappointing that this was the choice made following such clear evidence contradicting a claim denial. The first picture below clearly shows the position of the truck off the road in the grass where the driver requested I park. The last picture clearly shows a large tire track next to my truck, and the debris from my tail light proving the damage is new. Come on WM, do the right thing.

Desired outcome: simply repair the tailight and left rear fender of the truck that was damaged

Waste Management [WM] Cart removal charge

After several months of late pick-up, often extending a week to two seeks I cancelled my service. I originally initiated pick up service with Advanced Disposal. There was never a contract or agreement regarding a "cancellation fee." On August 16, 2022, an invoice was sent to me with a $75.00 "removal charge" along with addition environmental, fuel and administrative charges totaling $108.49. Since I had never entered into any agreement or contract with any company regarding cancellation charges, I chose not to pay this. Your late pickup and disregard for timely service was the reason for our cancellation.

Since that date we have been receiving harassing telephone calls and messages. These are simply arbitrary charges. Please have this stopped immediately!

Desired outcome: Please stop the harassment and void the noted charges.

Waste Management [WM] Pick up isn't as schedule

South court, trucks started backing down street (when they do pick up) which causes north side residents to put their trash in front of south side residents which causes conflict in entire neighbourhood no reason for trucks to back down street theres a turn around at end of street that they used for years.

Called wm many times no call back or results

This causes conflicts on south court between neighbours

Please help

Desired outcome: Trucks to drive down street as in the past & keep scheduled pick up that we pay for !

Waste Management [WM] Fees that were added without my authorization.

When we started using waste management, we never agreed that we'd pay $75 if we cancelled the service just for them to pick up the can. This stipulation was added without our consent. Not only did we get charged $75 for tote removal but we also got billed for "Prorated service-96 gallon toter Evective from 1/14/23 through 3/31/23" for something that was removed on 1/12/23. This should have never been marked resolved. I emailed waste management as soon as I was asked. 3 emails later I've not received a response. This is far from resolved. I'm reaching out to the BBB tomorrow.

Waste Management [WM] Consumer pickup rate increase

Today I received my quarterly invoice with 2 rate increases:
96 Gallon Toter from $44.07 to $55.08
Fuel/Environmental charge from $21.95 to $24.68
A total increase from $61.85 to $74.48.
This is a 20% increase!
With NO advance notice given.

Your "fine print" reads as if this is acceptable to raise your rates with no notice. This is NOT acceptable - you can generate an email at the time these rates are internally decided and relate such to customers just like internet and cell phone providers do.
I've been happy with WM for 30 years in California and until now in AZ.

Desired outcome: Return my rate to the previous amount.

Waste Management [WM] Rate increases and charges

I own a rent controlled 8 unit apartment Building , with 3 cubic trash bin, In 2018 the city in a closed door meeting decided to monopolize the trash industry, giving only one hauler excusive rights to pick up trash and denying consumers choice, my trash collection before Waste management took over was Athens Disposal charging $151 a month , when waste Management took over from the start charged $334 to now $443 and they increase the rates every year regardless, there is nobody overseeing there business practice since the city gave them a green light, when you call and talk to them there response is that they had a meeting and voted on the increase, if they are financially benefiting from the increase of course they are going to vote for it. This is extremely frustrating to me and also to other businesses that have no voice in the matter.

I hope others also voice their disapproval so this issue can be resolved.

Waste Management [WM] Not picking up glass

I have have called countless times during the past few months, asking Waste Management to please pick up my glass. It is always in it's proper bin, beside the trash and recycling bins when I put them out. It's in clear, full view, yet they constantly just flat out refuse to pick it up! There is never anything except glass in it. I'm always being told Oh, they'll pick it up next time, oh, they'll pick it up next time. They never do. Constantly calling to have it picked up and being ignored is exhausting. They clearly don't care about their paying customers.

Desired outcome: Pick up the glass! Do your job!

Waste Management [WM] 96 gallon residential replacement can

I called from Rainbow Omega and complained that one of our residential 96-gallon cans had been inadvertently taken by the waste truck. I called and spoke to a customer service agent and had a work ticket put in on December 5, 2022. (405831) After a week, I had not received my can, so I called again for a reminder. The next call I made was to a supervisor named Angela, she assured me I would get my can. I didn't get my can, so, another week went by, and I called again and spoke with Kayla (supervisor) and she assured me she would speak with Angela and get us straightened out. They did not get me straightened out. I called again today, and some smart [censored] "supervisor" named James got on the phone with his Boushie attitude and told me I would have one here at Rainbow tomorrow. All this being said, you have supervisors not following through with their responsibilities and it's making your company look foolish. Waste management is what you do but you can't manage to get Rainbow Omega one 96-gallon roll away can for well over a month? We are a large company for you to be dismissing in such a way. We are paying for the service and yet your supervisors don't see the need to do their jobs. I would like a follow up from someone of authority from your business to return this correspondence. Thank you in advance for your time and concern.

Waste Management [WM] Non-negotiable adhesion contract and far above market rates for services

After many years as a customer of WM, we realized we were paying far above the going rate for trash pickup at our small apartment building. Our automatically-renewing agreement comes up for renewal in May 2024 but we contacted WM on Dec 12, 2022 to say we wished to terminate as soon as possible. According to the agreement, since more than 6 months remain on the contract, we would be assessed liquidation damages calculated as the 6 months' charges immediately prior to termination - essentially paying a penalty equal to 6 months of no service. While we find this draconian, we do not dispute that this is what the contract requires. But WM also tells us we need to give them 90 days notice and we take issue with that. Their contract states that the term shall automatically renew unless we provide "written notice of termination at least ninety (90) days, but not more than one hundred eighty (180) days, prior to the termination of the then-existing term." As there are more than 180 days until the termination of our current agreement, we do not believe we are bound to give them 90 days notice and remain a paying customer for 3 more months. NOTE: we have found another vendor who is charging us under $200/month for the same service.

Desired outcome: Waive or reimburse us the fee for the 90 days. We have already paid the liquidation penalty of over $8,000. The additional 90 days will cost us around $4,400.

After several unsatisfactory communications with two different account associates, one of whom told me there was no one above him to whom I could speak, I located the email address of WM's CEO and emailed him with my concern. I was quickly referred to an area manager who waived the 90 days' notice, which would have cost us $4, 500 in unwanted service, and terminated our contract effective Jan 1, 2022. It pays to question and push back when dealing with huge corporations, exhausting as it can be to do so. The area manager agreed that the contract language was not as clear as it could be while stopping short of saying it wasn't still binding. We are still out over $8, 000 in liquidation damages, but it could have been worse.

Waste Management [WM] pickup

It is a joke, they only pick up what they want to pick up. For example, I live in a trailer park in Benner Township, Pa and I had a big box with broken down boxes in, put it in front of trash cans. The man moved the box back and emptied the trash but at another stop picked up a box with boxes in it. They did the same thing last week after Christmas when they used to pick them up. Other customers have complained about their service as well. Crappy service for $60. Lazy people in my opinion knowing they are the only game in town and don't care how they do their job. Well, I will pay by check from now and the days I do not get full service, no money for that week.

Desired outcome: Actually do their job.

Waste Management [WM] Debree, rats, dying trees

Waste management in aloha on Blanton has been asked over an over to keep up on there debris mass leaves that clog our ditch drain our street drain and gutter foundation drains. They have a once a week schedule to street sweep which is good but when there an excessive amount of leaves it pushes some of the leaves and round 1 inch spiked seed that act like rebar into sidewalk drains. Also clogs both sides of street drains and 8 inch ditch drain. Also all over are yards it get to be a mess. Also since buying aloha garbage the rats have gone crazy.

The same trees are dying unsafe large branches break off and fall on street side wall and buy my mail box that's directly under them. the trees are large 60 to 70 feet tall enough to take out the power to my street and Intel witch is the neighbor to. The lines are 35ft from trees. I intend to talk to Intel to help me with this to. It's in both our best interest as for rats and debris. Intel helped me before with aloha garbage. Waste management does a great job they need to realize this is residential on one side and commercial on the other. Intel, Washington county sheriff, Washington county police all keep up on the land scape cleaning. As far as manage at waste management Aloha I have ask for years, after talking to the manager again its simple thing when there's a lot of leave go off scale and clean them up. be courteous and have some respect for other peoples time and property. YOU should not be an [censored] an blow people off for years. That forces me to be a bigger one we all have had enough be a good neighbor. my name is Lon Aten I've been a general contractor in Oregon for 31 years. [protected].

Desired outcome: We want them to be considerate and keep up on the leaves prune or cut down diseased trees. Get rats under control. You should have pride in you work and respect your neighbor

Waste Management [WM] Recycling

Recycling has not been picked up since December 11,2022. While I understand we did have a snow storm, shouldn't an organization as large as waste management have a contingency plan? Why was there no plan to pick up garbage and recycling once the ban was lifted. I now have weeks worth of recycling sitting out in the rain and have been told it will not be picked up until my regularly scheduled date of December 9th! This is so ridiculous. I am not the only resident that put out their recycling. As I drove around Hamburg I saw 100s of recycle totes out even tho it was not our scheduled date.

Desired outcome: waste management should pick up the recycling asap!

Waste Management [WM] Recycling not being picked up

We have had more snow than usual this year (November/ December 2022). We've called WM on 2 different occasions asking them to pick up our recycling. The 2nd time, my husband spoke to a supervisor. He was told that because of the weather, which they have no control over, we'd just have to wait til they could get here and they would not issue a credit for the 3 times they should have picked up. Well, I would like to know why this is the case. Our garbage gets picked up every week. UPS is able to deliver. Why is our recycling not being picked up? In my opinion, it has nothing to do with the weather. I'm not the only customer on my road who is outraged!

Desired outcome: We would like a round issued for the 3 times we've been skipped and fir them to start picking up again.

I would like to file a complaint against one of your lifters who was very rude to my husband that's a driver there . How disrespectful he was to him he's lucky I wasn't a driver I would have had a few choice words for him . This is unacceptable to be like this you as a company should have better control of things . To have my husband drive in stress because this lifter doesn't know how to control his mouth and say the things he did to him very unacceptable acts I'm a school bus driver and we fire driver for such things
