Waste Management [WM] HHW disposal appointment

The address above is where the HHW contact info is to set up an appointment to drop off household hazardous waste for the unincorporated areas of San Diego County. I've called twice this morning and talked to two different idiots who had absolutely no clue what they were doing. One woman gave me a phone number to call, but the woman who answered said she was sorry but she couldn't help me with that. The next operator transferred me somewhere, and the line eventually went dead. I've dropped off hazardous waste before at the transfer site in El Cajon, CA on Bradley Ave, so I know it exists. How are people supposed to comply with the law if the people who are answering the phone don't know what they are doing?

In doing more research online, I found that I could make arrangements through r-1-earth for them to pick up the hazardous waste. Still, extremely bad customer service!

Desired outcome: FIX YOUR BROKEN SYSTEM!! At the very least, WM should be embarrassed at the ineptitude of the customer service representatives who answer their phones.

Waste Management [WM] Overly difficult to cancel trash service

We just set up an account but have decided to go with another company. We have called three times and were on hold 1-1.5 hours each time with no answer. I tried selecting "cancel service and switch to new address", option 5, instead of "cancel service for any other reason", option 6. The phone was answered immediately and they transferred me back to the other line with the 1hr+ wait.

I emailed as instructed above and got no response. Prior to this complaint, I emailed the above address and received a reply that I had to call to be helped. I also replied to that email and was told that I would be contacted within 48 business hours. I was not. My husband finally got through to someone on the phone and our account is cancelled. I can only conclude that they do this intentionally. This will probably be marked resolved but they didn't help us resolve anything without great effort on our part.

Waste Management [WM] Overcharged removal of trash dumpsters and containers

I canceled my service with Waste Management March 3, 2022. I had several commercial accounts. First of all the representative that spoke to me on the telephone was rude. I did not have a contract with Waste Management and they had to cancel my service. I was also notified in a letter that they were going to start charging 20 % environmental charge as of May 2022 and if you did not agree you could also cancel. I did get charged the 20% charge even though I canceled. My complaint is they left their dumpsters and individual containers on my properties for almost three months and they were unsanitary and my tenants complained. After turning them into the Better Business Bureau twice they picked up my dumpers and I received a bill which is Over charged and I do not owe them anything. I do not have a contract on any of these properties and no where on my bill did it ever say 215.00 for each removal plus a fuel environmental charge of $569.50. 1) Bills I am filing a complaint for are as follows: 1204 N 22nd, St. Joseph,Mo 64506 they sent me an invoice of $1429.50 and I have not had service with them and do not own any unpaid bill- 2)Woodlawn Apt complex 215.00 for removal and $505.60 fuel charge

3) Hillcrest Apts $215.00 plus fuel /environmental charges of 151.28

4) 2335 North Belt Hwy 215.00 plus 153.83 fuel/environmental charges

5) 2019 Beattie 215.00 plus environmental charges of 148.75

6) 860.00 for picking up 4 plastic containers and $405.86 fuel environmental charges 7) Eugene Field Apt 215.00 plus environmental charges of 148.75

8)1202 North 22nd 860.00 plus environmental charges of 405.86 I want these charges removed or I am going to turn this cmplaint into the] better business bureau or hire an attorney. They are the most dis respectfull company I have ever done business with. I paid them for all these accounts 'for over 15 years and never missed a payment. The reason for canceling was because another company is my town is 1/3 the price I paid them all these years . These invoices total $4880.57 ! I do not owe these invoices and please help me straighten this out with this company

Waste Management [WM] Paying for service that isn't completed, as in recycle bin not emptied on the day that the service is to be done.

Our recycle bin is supposed to be serviced (emptied) every other Friday as per Waste Managements schedule which I have a hard copy of. June 10th no service was done. July 11th the truck came and emptied the recycle bin. Next date for this service was to be the 24th of June and again no service rendered. I waited till Monday morning and called in to report that WM was not living up to their service arrangement and I was paying for garbage and recycle bin pickups.

The telephone person for WM stated that the bin would be emptied in the next 24 to 48 hours. This was not done. I called again and stated that for the month of June the recycle bin was emptied once. Now the next date for recycle is July 8th. This back and forth has been going on since February of 2022. I have literally complained at least 4 to 6 times per month on Waste Managements lack of providing the stipulated service and I am still paying for both garbage and recycle bins to be emptied.

Desired outcome: I basically want Waste Management to do their job. Either fire or reprimand the recycle truck driver for malfeasance and lack of professionalism in his/her duties and need reliable service for which I am paying every month.

Waste Management [WM] Our garbage truck people picked up our garage can and demolition the garbage.

Recent garbage/waste collection truck drivers that pick up our residential garbage cans from in front of our house every Thursday, somehow damaged our garbage can. There are puncture holes and gauges all over the body of the can, half of one side is missing a chunk of the plastic, and it was smashed so bad the lid won't align to close it. I'm assuming it was caused by the actual garbage claw the employee operates while picking up the can to dump in back of the garbage truck.

Waste Management [WM] Bulk pick-up

I called on 6/2/2022 and scheduled a bulk pick-up that was to be picked up 6/7/22. Pick-up has not occurred. I called 6/8 and was told my picked up would occur. Item still not picked up. I called 6/9 twice first call I was to be called back with an estimated pick-up time-no return call. Called a second time I was promised my picked up would be on 6/9. Still not picked up called again on 6/10, was told my item would be picked up by 7:00pm-asked for a supervisor/manager to return my call. Received an automated message that the pick-up would be delayed until 6/13. I have called twice on 6/13 was told I was on the schedule for today maybe picked up between 1-4pm.

Desired outcome: I would like my item picked up just like I had paid for, and my money refunded due to lack of fulfillment on Waste Managment's part.I have asked for a supervisor/manager to return my call

Waste Management [WM] Recycle been still not picked up

It's been a month now since our recycling has been picked up. A month ago I called six business days in a row and was told it would be picked up the next day. The sixth day I was told not to bother to call anymore as it wouldn't be picked up until our next normal pickup day. Our normal day was yesterday (June 10th) Our recycling bin was out at the curb by 6 am and by 7pm still hadn't been picked up. I fail to understand why this company can figure out how to pick up our trash bin but not our recycling bin. Helping our environment has always been a priority for us but I think we will just give up on that. I would like to make arrangements to have the bin picked up and we will just do trash as that's the only thing this company can figure out how to do.

Since the city pays our bill directly we have no choice but to put up with the poor service and customer service this company provides.

Waste Management [WM] Unrealistic contract term

We signed a contact with Waste Management back in 2014 for the trash pick up at our business.

Just this week I’ve made several calls to them telling them that their last price hike has put them too far over what our small business feels comfortable paying. I talked to a Paul and a Colleen both were to call me back the following days- it never happened.

I was told that although we signed our contract back in 2014- they do not need to have anyone renew the contact as they are allowed to auto renew you for three year terms. They are also practicing price hikes every quarter at the minimum rate of 20%

When i said that I would need to get a smaller dumpster then because the rate is just too high, I was quoted $50 less a month (we have 1 pick up a month) but was then told to think about my decision because it would be a $700 fee to have the dumpsters changed out.

Feel like we are being held hostage and want nothing more than to move on from them and get the lower rate from a new company - we’ve been a great customer for 8 years on auto pay so all payments were always current- this is just crazy. Please release us!

Canceled Service, price goes up every 3 months, as to where we can no longer afford it, when other trash companies are charging 1/3 of there price for the same service. Called to cancel then started getting you owe Waste Management money for service for June, July, Aug. We ended service in May. Why would we pay you for 3 months of service after we canceled b4 the next billing? We NEVER missed a payment, NEVER been late with a payment. We don't owe them a thing except for them to pick up thier can they claim. Talked to many people at WM thought things were cleared up until today when I got 2 other emails stating my payment is due for June, July & Aug. Last day was May 24th, 2022. Suppose to pick up the can on May 28th but did not pick it up until May 31st. And May 24th would had been my last pick up I was told by WM. So I wouldn't owe for June, July, Aug. I don't owe a thing, as a matter of fact I over paod $50.29. Their emails state there will be late charges, it will go into collection and be lawyer costs if I do not pay. What? The last person that I talked to at WM said I don't owe a thing. And I've been keeping note with dates, times and names of the people that I've talked too.

Desired outcome: Clear up this problem. I would be more then happy to give you all the names of the people at WM that I talked to, days and times.

Waste Management [WM] Company holding April 2020 payments against customers indefinitely

I live in Sussex county New Jersey, where there is only 2 Trash collection agencies available. Waste Management and Blue Diamond, leading to an obvious shortage in options I feel as though it goes without saying that options are limited. I use Waste Management Trash collection at my residence, have for 5 years under my name, and my husband used them at this residence under his name for many years prior to this. Its come to my attention that waste management only offers 1 waived resume fee for the entire time that you have their service, regardless if you have them for 1 year or 50 years. I understand the concept, that it keeps people from repeatedly not paying their bill on time and then asking for a waived fee for resuming service. That is not the issue I have. The issue I have is that they are using my waived resume fee from April 2020 against me, and God only knows how many other customers are having the same time period held against their account indefinitely. The state of NJ was actually shut down entirely, for months upon months during the pandemic. April 2020 being one of the most vulnerable times for an entire population of people, now i could understand if they dont want to give customers a break for later in the pandemic, 2021 and so on. I could even understand September 2020, but to hold April- July of 2020 against their customers is just cruel, and considering the wealth that this company has one would imagine that they could afford to help their customers a little bit better.

Desired outcome: My desired outcome would be that they offer customers a second chance if their only waived resume fee occured in the very beginning of the pandemic when their states were under a Governors order and the entire state was literally shut down.

Waste Management [WM] Recycle pickup

We have called Waste Management 6 business days in a row and been told that someone will be by to pick up the recycling that they missed a week ago. We took the bin out every day and nobody ever came. I called again today (June 6th) and they told me it was scheduled for the 10th of the month which is our normal pickup for recycle. Our bin is full and 2 trash cans are full. This company's idea of customer service is to apologize and do nothing. As far as I can see they lied to us about coming to pick up our recycling. I would imagine they could care less as we pay our garbage bill to the City of Moberly so they will get paid no matter how poor the service. I spoke to supervisors as well and nothing was taken care of.

Desired outcome: Pick up my recycle bin when you say you will. And if you aren't going to bother to make a special trip out to get it then don't tell me to drag it out there every day for a week.

Waste Management [WM] Residential Trash Service

Since moving into our new home, myself and my neighbors have had horrible service in regards to trash pickup service. Since moving in nine weeks ago, I have only had four pickups for a service that I have paid for weekly trash pickup. I have called six times about the pickup service. Each time, thier customer service rep was very polite and apologetic. I was assured that a truck would come by in the next day or so and would be contacted by one of thier supervisors. Only twice did a truck come and pickup the trash. Not once have I received any contact from a supervisor. After my last complaint, all my neighbors had thier trash picked up except for mine. This appears to me to be some sort of retribution by the driver for my complaint of lack of service. So far, I can say this company has the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen.

Desired outcome: I was informed by last representative that my account would be reimbursed for the 4 weeks of non-pickup. I have yet to see that on my account and should now be 5 weeks of reimbursement.

Waste Management [WM] Cancellation fee

We have had waste management for years and today we decided we wanted to cancel our service due to lack of pickups we have constantly complained about, more specifically yard waste. We decided to go with another company for a significantly lower price with the same exact service. I even allowed WM to see if they could work something out to lower our bill but in the end after being on the phone with them for over an hour they could not match what the competitor was offering. I kindly asked to cancel and we are in no contract, have no balance on our account and then were told we would be slapped with a hefty cancellation fee just to not have their service anymore. Not only is this unjust, but extremely unprofessional and immature of a company to charge someone because they don’t want their services anymore. We are not going to pay this and will dispute the charge if they try to even bill us this ridiculous amount.

Waste Management [WM] Removal rem 1 6 yd3 msw

Service was cancelled as of 4/30/2022 - the last pick up was 4/27/2022.

We received a billing dated 5/01 - 5/31 $22.33 Prorated charges, when I called I was told to disregard that billing.

Then we received another bill dated 6/01-6/30 $348.75 Removal REM 1 6YD3 MSW - the balance due includes the $22.33 = Total due $371.08.

We don't agree with either billing especially the excessive amount charged to drive 10 miles to remove your dumpster.

Waste Management [WM] Dumpster service

Waste Managment has been increasing our monthly service charges every month for many years. Originally less than $200, it is now over $500.

I called to investigate charges and have them reduced in 2017, and they were lowered somewhat, however they still increase charges with no explanation.

I called 3 months ago in March and was told the April bill was already prepared, but the May bill would be $110. However it is more than $500. When I called to find out why, I was told that I was supposed to sign an agreement for the new rate, which I never recieved, and the representative did not inform me that I would need to sign any contract for the reduced rate. Otherwise I would have cancelled immediately.

** I was told the reason the rate goes up every month, is because I am out of my contract or service agreement. So thats why it goes up. When I told them to cancel my service and take the dumpster, I was told there would be an early termination fee. **

If there is some way to file charges, I would like to do that also.

Desired outcome: I should be refunded the difference in amounts between the May billing amount and the promised $110 charges, and WM needs to take their dumpster and never contact me again.

Waste Management [WM] Weekly commercial trash service

I signed a binding 3 years contract with the WM for a set price. In less than 4 months into the contract the WM has raised its fee by 32%. This is a breach of contract.

Waste Management [WM] Waste Management Truck driving on 67/167 pulaski county arkansas

Good Afternoon! I was driving home from work, LRAFB Jacksonville AR to North Little Rock on 67/167. There was a Waste Management Truck and trash was blowing out of trash bin all over the road! The number on the truck was L 5350, it turned off 67/167 turning onto Hwy 40 towards Memphis. We have enough littering on freeways, is there a top on the bin? In my opinion the driver should have checked to make sure the bin was closed. Surely he noticed all the trash blowing out of his truck. Hoping someone reads this message.

Waste Management [WM] commercial trash/recycling

You took over our contract from Advanced Disposal with no notice and raised our prices $40 per month.

Since your take over on 4 occasions you sighted us and billed us for contaminated recycling (5 if you include the email I just received).

We are located in a shopping plaza at least 4 business had advanced disposal dumpsters which are now relabeled as waste management. None of the dumpsters are marked to indicate the name of the business they are associated with. I have a 2 yard recycling and a 4 yard trash dumpster side by side located behind my business. Our pick ups are WEDNESDAY (1 week trash next week recycling). On MONDAYS you pick up recycling for the beer distributer and Chinese food restaurant. The beer distributer's dumpster is in front of the build to the left side (when facing the building) at the edge of parking lot backing to a yard and trees.

You have taking pictures of the dumpster which is contaminated; on MONDAY May 9th and again May 23rd. YOUR PICTURE clearly shows a single dumpster in front of a row of trees. Your customer service person said they noticed a lock on the dumpster in question. WE DO NOT have a lock on either of our dumpsters. The week of the 9th was our trash; not our recycling pick-up (we are on a bi-weekly schedule). Neither of our dumpsters had been emptied at the time of my call; I offered to take pictures as proof, but your staff denied the necessity.

I called on Wednesday the 11th about the notice of contamination. Then received a very snarky voicemail from your route manager basically saying how does he know it's not my dumpster. I called him and left a message explaining how I know it's not my dumpster based on location and date of pick up. He never responded. I received my invoice in the mail; you refused to remove the erroneous charge.

Today I called customer service when I demanded to speak to a supervisor I only repeated "I want a supervisor" several times. The women then told me she was going to make me call and placed me on hold for 45 minutes until I hung up.

I called a second time and after 30 minutes spoke to a supervisor "Kelsy". She too implied that there was no way for her to know it was not my dumpster. I told her if your staff were to incompetent to know the difference in pick update and locations of the dumpsters then it should be your responsibility to mark them. She told me she was going to discontinue the call for "in appropriate language". I did not know that incompetence was a bad work. She told me there was nothing she could do. She would have the same snarky route manager "Terry" call me. I do not want to question the intelligence of your staff, but I have wasted over 3 hours on this specific incidence. Not to mentions the pervious incidences; and NOW again from the 23rd. I do not understand the difficulty your staff have in believing this is not my dumpster; and why the burden of proof should not be on me. Send someone to see the placement of the dumpsters. We have offered to meet you staff at the restaurant even though we were closed; but you refused. I have a picture of my dumpsters from today attached; you can clearly see the back of the build and the recycling which has not been emptied. The background and placement is NOT at all like pictures you sent me in my email today or on the 10th of May.

Desired outcome: I want you to clearly mark the dumpsters, so your staff knows who's trash/recycling they are picking up. I want all charges removed from my bill.
