Waste Management [WM] excelsior trash roll off i am a truck driver for them

5/18/22 kim in scale house at riga ny or mill seat almost killed 2 of us standing on brew road getting our trucks ready to unload at 6:30 am she drives very very fast by us please have her slow down 70 is way 2 fast we are all standing there in the am getting ready to unload this has to stop she will kill us and waist management i hear thrives on safety so plz do something ps she is very rude to truck drivers yelling and screaming is very unprofessional thx she also used the word [censored] not good racial person

Waste Management [WM] Overcharged for cancellation

I called to cancel my service with them last month. They put me on hold for over 1.5 hours. I hung up and called again and complained to the first person that answered that to start new service I talk to someone immediately but to cancel service they send me to no one to wait on the phone. They apologized and then put me to someone right away. She answered and agreed to cancel my service. She told me they would pick up my trash on 5/2 and cancelled my service. She told me there would be a charge of $19.50 to pick up my trash containers. I said that is silly but fine I will pay that.

No one came to get the trash container. I finally took it off my curve a week later, then I get an email saying it is delayed. I come home one day and the containers are gone the next week. Today I receive a bill for $244. This was charging me for the service for THE NEXT MONTH I cancelled, $75 dollars to pick up the bins and a $65 dollar fuel charge? That fuel charge was more than a normal pick up? I am DISGUSTED and will be calling EVERYDAY to get this resolved.

Not only was I lied to on the phone, but continued to be charged for service with them and I have not signed ANY papers with my own signature or by email. I pay per month, I have not signed any contract with WM.

Desired outcome: Call me immediately. Reverse my charges to cancel service EXCEPT for the $19.50 for the pick up we discussed and DO NOT EVER send me bills again. This company is fraudulent.

Waste Management [WM] canceling services / dumpster removal charges after being a customer for 7 years

I have been a customer of WM for 7 + years there prices have continued to climb. So I looked into other providers and found them to be half of WM but i could not switch. WM offered to match there rate but only for one year of a two year contract. So I waited and cancelled my account when I could now this was after paying 100$ more per month then I had to.( If I wouldn't of been held hostage for 6mo "600$ extra paid") Now they want me to pay 353.44 for them to remove there dumpster now on my bill I pay extra for dumpster replacement already. WM is crooked and takes advantage of there customers once you start service with them and then in the end try to get you one last time. These practices need to change be fair with your customers and they wont want to leave or just might come back if you did treat them right.

Desired outcome: I want my account to be credited for the 354.44 balance

Waste Management [WM] Bin removal fee too high.

Been with WM since 07 2012.

signed a renewal in July 2017 for 3 years with no automatic [protected]@ 48.52 / all inclusive per month.

Did not renew contract after it expired because new offer was too high. since then the price had increased to 100. per month in 2021.

cancelled the service sometime mid July, paid 206.86 final invoice September 2021.

Received an invoice for Bin removal of 307.45. sent email to argue about the over charge , got a call from a manager who was very rude. I explained that I had no contract and your bin pick up should be around 79.00. I was willing to pay a reasonable charge but no one got back to me. Instead I kept getting invoices every month with increase of $17.17

Waste Management [WM] Waste management pick up

It’s 5:05 pm and our garbage has not been picked up yet. They used to be around 2:00 and now they are coming around later and later. I tried to get a hold of someone and had a difficult time getting a live person. Customer service is pathetic and can not get anyone. Other garbage companies come around in the morning and get it over with. Having our garage container sitting out there all day and into the evening is ridiculous. Seriously thinking of finding a different company who is always prompt on time in the morning.

Waste Management [WM] $99.55 Termination fee?

I think your $75 tote pickup fee is unreasonable. I never agreed to this charge. This $75 tote fee was not mentioned on my first contract/bill in March 2012. I have no contract and fees kept going up every year. Why am I being charged a fuel charge, regulatory charge, and administration charge on top of the $75. I nolonger have service, these charges are not appropriate and abbusive.

Desired outcome: I want these fees and invoice remove. I nolonger have service so why would I be charged. This is the reason why a had to leave WM.

Waste Management [WM] Overcharged on bill since moving to new home in AZ

We moved to Arizona in November 2018 and set up our trash service immediately. We recently discovered our neighbors have been paying approximately 1/3 to 1/5 of what we have been billed. After a lengthy call to WM, it was discovered that our account had not been 'coded correctly per our HOA agreement". They have offered to credit us the difference for one year only. Not acceptable. It was at no fault of ours that the account wasn't coded correctly. If we underpaid our our bill for this amount of time I guarantee it would be ok for us to say we would make up the difference for one year. We will be contacting an attorney to assist with this situation asap.

Desired outcome: Credit the total amount of what we have overpaid

Waste Management [WM] Cancellation fee

I never signed up for WM. They bought out my old carrier (Advanced Disposal). They automatically raised our rates and when I tried to cancel they hit me with not only a $75 cancellation fee, they also charged me a $45 fuel charge! How is this legal? I NEVER wanted their services!

Desired outcome: Drop both the $75 fee as well as the $45 fuel fee. My monthly bills have all been paid in full.

Waste Management [WM] Charges

I have contacted WM repeatedly and talked to reps and a supervisor. I live in a 243 unit complex and started my service on 11/2019. I cannot use any other service for trash service. WM, in turn, gives a discount to our complex. I found this out in 2020 and contacted WM and they indicated they would look into it. I never heard back and called back repeatedly, sometimes I would be disconnected after holding for a long time. I also asked for a senior discount if any, I was told there was no senior discount. After repeated calls, I gave up.

Recently, I learned from a neighbor that I pay 60% more for my waste management. They showed me their bill. I was outraged, there is a discount agreed to for customers in this community.

I called 3 times in the last 10 days and finally spoke to a supervisor. She said there was no discount. She said there was a discount for seniors and applied the discount. This is 2.5 years later.

Desired outcome: I want the same discount applied to the homeowners in my complex.

Waste Management [WM] Waste management charge

I was never informed of 75 charge for picking up trash can because I am moving. Ridiculous charge and awful customer service. Never again will I use this company. Lady tells me their local office is still closed due to Covid so I can’t just return it myself. That’s the biggest crap I’ve ever heard.

Waste Management [WM] Garbage truck driving too fast

I live in a tight cluster of apartment buildings on North Alki where people actively walk their dogs, their are kids playing outside and people walking. Your garbage truck #153149 drove down the alley (which is the entrances to most of these apt complexes) extremely fast for where he was. I went outside to speak with the male driving the truck to simple ask him to not drive so fast down our alley since this has been a common occurrence with your trucks. He tried to ignore me at first and then responded with “if you have a problem, there is my truck number” as he pointed to his truck. I wouldn’t have even filed a complaint had he acknowledged how he was driving and made any amends to the danger he is putting me and my neighbors at by driving this way. He was rude and didn’t care stating something about he only has so much time to get his route done. This is completely unacceptable and these continued actions will no doubt result in someone getting hurt or killed by your trucks.

Desired outcome: I want assurance your truck drivers aren’t going to keep driving well over speed limits and in dangerous manners.

Waste Management [WM] New account for a 4rd dumpster

On April 19th I called waste management to set up a new account for our farm. The previous owners had an account with waste management and we had been sharing the dumpster with the previous owners and realized we need to get our own account. I called waste management and a Kelly Harmon was the representative that was supposed to help me she sent me an agreement to sign and said the earliest they could get a dumpster out was May 2. The agreement came to my email but I did not sign it because the billing address was not correct I’ll ask Kelly numerous times through email and phone call to correct the address but instead I was ignored and continued emails to sign the wrong agreement were sent daily at 3 AM. I called back to waste management and spoke with Michele who was able to update the agreement and send it to me via email to sign I signed the agreement understanding that we would have a dumpster in our name at the farm on May 2, 2022. May 2 came and we had no dumpster in our name the previous owners dumpster was still on location when I called waste management Mike told me oh you won’t have your dumpster until May 31. I said I want out of the agreement because I’m still getting emails daily saying can you please sign an agreement so as far as I’m concerned waste management doesn’t have an agreement from me and they have faulted on their contract by not providing the service which is a dumpster on May 2 which was the date of the agreement and was verbally told to me by Kelly I want out of the agreement I don’t wanna do business with waste management they’ve been poor to take care of and still have and provide me a agreement that I’ve actually signed.

Desired outcome: We do not want to do further buses with WM and want to account closed without charges since services were not provided

Waste Management [WM] Cancellation fees

After being a loyal customer for almost 2 decades I had no option to cancel due to pricing. I am not within a contract but was advised I'd receive a final invoice with a charge of $75 to pick up their barrel. I asked for an option to drop it off and was advised there was no option for this. This is unbelievable that I'm required to pay for equipment that was loaned to me. There was no charge to bring it to me or have it replaced over the years when the wheels fell off a couple times but now because I'm cancelling, suddenly there's a cost involved.

Desired outcome: Remove the fee but also remove this practice

Waste Management [WM] Surprise Fees for stopping the service

Hello. I decided to not renew the service for another year and called Waste Management in order to let them know. I was told that I will be charged for $75 long with fuel charges, regulatory recovery charges and administrative charges. I said that I was not aware of all these charges. I was told that this is noted on the invoice that I received. When I contacted Waste management, I created the account and paid for the full year over the phone. I never received an invoice by Waste Management. The lady on the phone said that they sent an invoice about a month later. Even, under my account on their website, it does not have the invoice listed.

The other thing that I asked was that even if I received the invoice a month later since the beginning of the service and saw the charges and decided to cancel the service, would I get charged for the fees? The Waste Management representative said yes because I would cancel the service after a month since the beginning. Very disappointed with the Waste Management's practices.

You are welcome Waste Management. I forgot to mention above that expect that I never received the invoice, the two emails that I received after I paid over the phone do not mention anything about the $75 + cancellations fees. It has N/A where is says invoice.

The emails have been sent to my lawyer already. This will be resolved in the court.

Waste Management [WM] Misled by sales rep into 3 year dumpster contract; required to pay over $900 to cancel

I requested dumpster service at my residential address for horse manure. I explained my need to the sales rep and he quickly sent me over a contract via DocuSign, dumpster arrived promptly, very easy. Approximately 9 months later, we moved from that address, bought a new house... and are keeping the old house as a rental. I tried to call to cancel the dumpster service, thinking it would be no big deal, only to find out the sales rep had set us up on a THREE YEAR CONTRACT and I was informed that the contract i signed clearly stated this fact. I acknowledge that I clearly did NOT read the contract thoroughly, and that is completely my fault, HOWEVER, not ONCE did the sales rep say ANYTHING about 3 years. He never ONCE asked me about duration, which seems like it is apparently a very important factor and that I now know a temporary dumpter could have been an option instead of a "permanent" one. Had he said anything about 3 years, I would have NEVER signed this agreement. We didn't even get remotely close to 3 years... only needed it for 9 months! WM was not helpful or sympathetic to my situation at all, they just kept repeating how i signed the agreement and that's that. They said to get out of the contract i would need to pay over $900 in liquidated damages and they would not budge on that number at all. I am HIGHLY disappointed and overall just SHOCKED. Never once have i felt so bamboozled by a company. I feel as though i was intentionally MISLED by the sales rep I spoke with and overall it feels like an extremely shady operation. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR TRASH OR DUMPSTER SERVICE.

Waste Management [WM] Trash

WM trying to scam us for unagreed upon fees and charges.

Obviously WM tries to muscle in fees wherever they can. Don't let them walk all over you.

Setup fees, cart removal fees, exorbitant ancillary charges.

We never paid ANYTHING, we never agreed to ANYTHING, we have ZERO contract. You want your bin, come take it, I never agreed to being charged for any of these fees in any way.

Desired outcome: I want my account deleted and for WM to stop claiming we owe them anything.

Waste Management [WM] Rate increase

My bill for residential pick-up (1 container) has been in the mid $30s-$40 for two years. In March, my bill was $41, in April it rose to $44.86, and now for May it has increased to $51.89 (a jump of $10 in two months). There has been no explanation of a rate increase from WM. Please explain — I tried calling but it was after hours.

In my opinion (from talking with people in my area with WM), bills have seen increases in the past and if you don't check them carefully, costs have steadily risen with no explanation as to why. Just because we have autopay doesn't mean that a company can add on more cost without it being noticed.

Desired outcome: I would like an explanation and a rate comparable to what my neighborhood has. Other people in my area are currently paying low $40s for the same service.

Waste Management [WM] Waste Management container removal

We are a property management firm and had used Waste Management (WM) at 14 different facilities for more than a decade. In that time, spent thousands of dollars with them to the tune of well over a quarter-million -- approx. $2,000 / month for 120 months. In February, we received invoices stating that yet another price increase of 17.5% to 20% would be implemented. Paying the bill would indicate consent. Due to the verbiage on the invoice, "If you do not consent to this increase, you have the right to terminate your service agreement..." We did not pay and proceeded with terminating services. In order to retain our business, they immediately began to negotiate quoting decreased costs. This in itself was disconcerting as they were trying to increase the costs by burying the increase notice in the invoice hoping it would just get paid and that the increased amount would then be under a new contract term. We were just fortunate that our Accounts Payable department noticed this and brought it to Management's attention. I cannot speak to how other companies operate, but in ours, A/P department is different than the contracts division and the fact that WM did not reach out to their loyal customers to work with them on this. During email communications with the WM Rep, there was never disclosure as to the container removal fee. In looking at the agreements, I did not see any amounts disclosed. We were shocked to receive exorbitant invoice amounts for the container removals; a grand total of $4,805.18; approximately $345.00 per facility, many of which are in close proximity to one another; one small site was charged $676. This feels like extortion, or at the very least retaliation for discontinuing their service. I was expecting to pay the removal fee of perhaps around $100 for each facility, based on past experiences. These amounts are ridiculously excessive. After years of faithful patronage, I feel that this is extremely poor business practice and WM has no appreciation for the thousands of dollars they have already been paid.

Desired outcome: I understand there are costs involved in container removal and feel that $100 for each facility, each invoice, is more than fair -- that is still a total of $1,400.00

Waste Management [WM] Unauthorized automatic payment

April 1st I paid my quarterly bill, 106.61. April 6th they charged my checking account 106.61 as an automatic payment. Auto pay is something I never do as a matter of principle. It has caused headaches in the past and I just do not do it. I called and after ten minutes of voice prompts and recordings repeating I could go to the website, a representative finally answered. She said my overpayment would be refunded. Two weeks later I call again because the 106.61 has been posted to my account giving me a credit of 106.61. So I call again and after the same frustrating series of voice prompts and recordings I talk to another representative. She said she would put through the returned payment. I should expect it in four to six weeks, she says.

Desired outcome: I would like the money they took from me returned as fast as they took it.
