I have had problems with my Viking appliances since purchasing them. Ordered on/about 5/17/21. Last to arrive was combo fridge/freezer arrival Nov 2022 ( email 9/29/22). We were told it would be in Nov 2021 and lived without them both for a yr after paying. COVID was their excuse for delay, but what is their excuse today?
Overall--Quality Control Poor for price paid
House cabinets were custom for all appliances… move in Jan 2022
1. Double oven top door had to be repaired due to glass window was not properly centered… cut in at angle (Noted 1/10/22 email to appliance installer) Door repair @5/17/22 due to Viking delays we were told.
2. Fridge/Freezer—expected delivery in Nov 2021. Then told Feb 2022, then May 2022, then again Jul 2022…Waited 11 mos after move-in in addition to waiting 8 months after ordering (during Covid). Had to use an appliance loaner for a yr… were told would be a few months vs yr wait. Ridiculous support but at least the place we ordered from stepped up to help. Viking did nothing except send two poor examples of their 15K products to me.
a. 3x fridge repair for compressor fan blades… during one repair, technician hit compressor gas line and lost all freon….lost fridge again for almost 4 months to get parts etc… technically not a Viking issue, but tech would not have broke freon line had the fan not failed. (Service Calls--8/29/24, 10/14/24, 10/28/24 service call 11/6/24). Just found that the compressor freeze return line on freezer was hitting fan blades and breaking them off. Technicians probably missed that during repair, but ultimately it came from factory that way. Freezer repaired this week, but will require another repair to confirm on Fridge. In addition, constant repairs on fridge, the parts that lift and roll the appliance have now been stripped. It can no longer be moved as intended. This obviously due to repair technicians from appliance techs but after 2 visits, should they even be stripping? They no longer can be elevated and lowered to push and pull fridge out. QA issues and poorly qualified technicians. I believe water lines and lack of room for compressor, fan water lines etc is poorly engineered but found on freezer different cause as noted.
b. Fridge repair 7/25..(Appliance repair on last bill was 7/7/25, $753.69 still having issues.) Having condensation build up on fridge door seal in top left corner. Replaced seal and that did not work. I am using paper towels taped to catch the moisture to keep it sealed and not drip inside the fridge. (Now this is a great marketing picture too) This has been happening for some time. Also the water dispenser sometimes works, sometimes not…I believe the heating unit in the back freezes or stops working, then the water line freezes until both are defrosted and presto...I get water again..They looked at that and Water dispenser still doesn’t work properly after repair….. just gave up because every service calls are not cheap and the product cannot be fixed.
c. Freezer— control panel failure noted 2/15/22 repair 6/11/24 Working thus far.
3. 36 “ Range purchased as propane but showed up as natural gas. I believe this was an ordering failure through the appliance retailer… had to wait a few weeks to get a conversion kit for propane to make it work with house (Noted 1/11/22 email to appliance retailer). This added to stress of over negative feeling and watching holes being drilled in a $6800 range that had never been used.
4. 36” Propane grill after 2 yrs, glow igniters failed. I bought replacement parts and repaired myself. Repair bills for things that should work well frustrating. Today, the searing burner will not light still...replacement part just under $900 without labor.
5. Microwave and Dishwasher— no issues thank God.
Numerous repairs during warranty time period and repeated failures of fan blades on both fridge and freezer after warranty have cost me additional cost half the original cost for one item. Did I try to contact Viking? Yes….Reached out to Viking [protected] for repair help 2/23/22 and emailed 3/24/22 support and no help finding better certified technicians in our area…. No assistance. Viking won’t even talk to customers I found… gave up again.
Sent email to a Viking rep 4/22/22 outlining QA Issues on ordered parts, sliding delays etc. Never received a response. I also
wrote the company CEO and asked for help… no response from Viking. Very disappointing that a customer has no way to communicate with Viking. Seems techs can, but from my perspective Viking keeps an arm’s length away from those who seek help.
Why is the number one failure on both fridge and freezer fan blades? This is consistently failing and costing an average of $700-900 each time is not what I expected from the Viking name. For the price paid, it should seldom fail. Yet again more out of pocket costs for me and no one can tell me why. Do I have lemons?
Repair/initial dates — This listing is how many times I found in my calendar that someone had to repair a Viking appliance or show for diagnostics. Does not include wait times for parts etc….

I hope this sheds light as to my frustrations with Viking. We have been without parts and waiting on repairs on holidays too. I have had to empty items and use an additional cheaper fridge as a standby. None, and I mean none of the other non-Viking appliances have had a single issue. This is why I am frustrated.
Lastly, I recently filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against Viking. I received both a call and an email. All I want to do is have the Fridge/Freezer replaced because I feel I have lemons. When asked for further details following my BBB complaint from their "outsourced" regional complaint rep, I provided them with the above detailed information 17 April 2026. It has been over 45 days and despite my efforts to be open and patient, I am being "Ghosted" by the rep who reached out. Another point of failure within the Viking system.
Previously we owned Thermador Appliances. Never had a failure or issue with any of them. I wish I did not change to Viking.
I hope this sheds light on Viking shortfalls and what to expect if one does purchase Viking. For me, I am disappointed in the customer service, quality control and overall Viking experience. When they work, they work well...that is the best I can say.
Desired outcome: Replacement of both series 7 Fridge/Freezer
