Good evening, 

My name is Ms. Carleen Barrett and I reside in Brooklyn, New York.  Last year around October 2022 I found myself in hardship and applied to the hardship program with a Victoria's Secret credit card.  My credit card number is [protected] exp 1/26.  I was approved for 1 year and completed my one year with 12 consecutive payments that were made on time with no issues.  I called the hardship program in October to inquire about my account status and was informed that if I was in good standards in November my account would go back to regular standards, and I would be able to use the account as normal.  On November 11, 2023, I went into a Brooklyn store in Gateway Mall and was told my card was declined for use.  I was met with rude and disrespectful associates who could not explain to me why my card wasn't working.  I was told to call customer service.  

I made it home and called hardship and was informed that they didn't have the authority to close accounts and transferred to customer service and spoke to Annette who stated that she didn't know why my account was closed but she would bump it up to supervisor status because they would be the one to reopen account.  I went back to Victoria's Secret in Brooklyn and again the card was declined, no one could or would explain to me why it was closed.  I got home and called and spoke to another representative who stated she would add notes and have a supervisor call me.  To date, I have not been contacted by a supervisor.   I took it upon myself to call on November 28, 2023, and a gentlemen named Frank who wasn't helpful or understanding told me the account was closed didn't know why but there is nothing that can be done because it's a month closed on October 31, 2023.  He was incentive and condescending.  He wouldn't listen and told me I had to go online and reopen an account.  He couldn't explain why the account was closed but he made me feel like I was being discriminated against because of the location I reside and living in an urban area my concerns were not met with understanding or concerns.  This was clearly a mistake made on Victoria's Secret end and it should have been corrected and not made to believe that the valued customer was in the wrong.  

I have had this account for over 10 years and need help and thought that I did the right thing by entering the hardship program completing it without any missed payment and instead of being praised and treated with respect.  I was met with a disrespectful, rude customer service department that doesn't respect diversity and profiles urban areas by closing accounts for no valid reasons.  

The resolution I'm looking for is to be treated like a human being who had an account for over ten years and be valued by rectifying my account by re-opening my account without any more stress and discrimination.  I would like Victoria's Secret corporation to look into this matter by providing me with the up most respect and understanding I deserve.

I was told it was wrongfully closed on October 31, 2023, and was never verbally or in writing.  This is a cut-and-dry case.  I've enjoyed being a cardholder for over ten years and would like to continue to shop and enjoy Victoria's Secret merchandise.

Desired outcome: The resolution I'm looking for is to be treated like a human being that had an account for over ten years and be valued by rectifying my account by re-opening my account without any more stress and discrimination.
