On Friday at approximately 3:40 pm, I was trying to purchase a rug when I was told that both employees working that department was on lunch and would not be back until 4:15 pm. I said I could not wait that long and then proceeded to checkout with one item (a picture frame) and was told after standing in line for over minute that the register was closing. I should have been told that as soon as I walked up. Needless to say I was upset and left the store. When I called back to talk to the manager, she informed me that they were supposed to have lunch — it was the law. I told her that was not the issue; the issue was that both should not be gone at the same time in case you got a customer. She was very defensive and of little help. They lost a sale that would have amounted to over a hundred dollars or more as I was also planning to purchase a mattress as well. I was very disgusted because I shop there a lot and now I will take my business elsewhere. Whatever happened to good customer service and the customer is always right.
