3/31 I saw my physician for medication for travel. I took the prescription to my pharmacy and was told that they were out of stock. I was also told that they would not order the medication because it was for a small amount. I was actually told to go to either CVS or Walgreen's to get my script. My spouse works for the Kroger Distribution Center and CVS and Walgreen's are not in our insurance network. I have written to the Pharmacy Manager and my Kroger Prescription Insurance. I still have not had a reply.
We are told we are part of the Kroger family and this doesn't feel like it when employees of stores treat you like a number. We are finding more and more that the stores keep less stock of certain medications and we understand but do not tell your customers to go to your competitor's, order the medication as the physician prescribed, regardless of the amount.
This is standard practice for any pharmacy that has a slow moving drug. When you only sell 30 in a six month period, and you have to order 240 at a time, it is not cost effective to buy it. They did great customer service sending you to a pharmacy that keeps the drug on hand.
