On 09/24/2023 I asked Walgreens to refill a prescription for Gabapentin 300MG, The technician informed me that the insurance would not cover the cost because it was not for 90 days. I told her never mind that I would contact insurance. to straighten this out. WITHOUT my permission she went ahead and had the prescription filled, contacted the provider and had a new prescription issued. Causing the current prescription to be closed out in your system. I never asked for this to happen nor requested Walgreens to get involved in my medical care. On 09/26/2023 I went back to the Pharmacy with my old prescription bottle. They filled it and informed me of what happened. At the same time I received a new prescription for an antibiotic. I requested to speak to the pharmacist about what had taken place and was told to come back the next day and speak with the pharmacist manager. As has happened numerous times, when I have received new prescriptions not once has the pharmacist at this Walgreens ever counseled me as required by Walgreens policy as well as State and Federal Laws! I have filed a complaint with the TN Board of Pharmacy! I also believe my HIPPA rights have been violated by Walgreens Contacting my Provider without my permission!
Desired outcome: I would like to know why Walgreens has decided to take over my healthcare! I also intend to Contact legal advice!!
