I moved into a new house and changed insurance companies to Farmers Insurance. An inspection was required there was an option to submit the pictures online. I took the pictures and the website would not submit them, as a result I had to schedule a time for someone to come out and do the inspection and take pictures. I was still moving in so some of my items were outside and under the sink in the bathroom a piece of wood was not covering the pipes.
The inspector need not me now of any issues. I receive a letter in the mail that my homeowners insurance is cancelled and then within 2 days of that I received a refund check. The cancelation date is scheduled for the end of August. How can you cancel a policy, send a refund check and not even let the issues be corrected. They also didn't give any reason for the cancelation in the letter.
They stated clutter in the yard - I was moving in of course there would be clutter until I could get everything moved in the house. The issue under the sink is not even a issue the vanity doesn't have the back on it so you can see the pipes - which is also the shut off valve. So yes lets cover it and make unable to access to turn off the water if needed. I have tried to get my agent to get it reversed to no luck - I don't think he really tried. Especially since someone else in the office indicated that this happens all the time and they get it reversed.
Desired outcome: Have a new inspection and have the policy reinstated.
