I recently rented a vehicle on 2/27/20 & returned on 3/1, I was initially supposed to return the vehicle on 2/29 but called to extend it for the additional day. Upon returning the vehicle I was charged $376.92 when I was only going to be charged 117.70 for the 2 days. There was no damage to the vehicle & the gas was brought back on full. So I'm being told that it was an additional 259.22 for extending the rental for 19 hours. That makes absolutely NO sense & is a total ripoff. When I called & spoke with a customer service representative (employee # 4173) this morning I was told that there were no records of me calling in to extend so therefore my daily rate was changed to $95/day. On 3/2/2020 at approximately 7:12 am after asking to speak to a supervisor I which employee #4173 told me that there were no supervisors in at that time & that she would have one call me at 9 am when they arrived only to never receive a phone call. I called customer service back at approximately 1:39 pm & spoke with employee #REC4475 who told me that the employee that I spoke with earlier provided me with inaccurate information & that I would need to wait 24 hours to speak with a supervisor. My employees & I are loyal dollar express customers & spend thousands of dollars a month with the Hertz corporation which I'm now planning on taking my business elsewhere.
