I had 16 replacement windows installed in my house by Renewal by Andersen in June 2021 after my husband died because they advertise, "beautiful and EFFICIENT" But it wasn't until March 2022 that I realized they all leak in cold air after I put up plastic around some windows. I was just SHOCKED and in disbelief. I called the office of Renewal by Andersen of Northwest Ohio on March 18, 2022. They sent out a person who stayed at my house for 15 minutes on March 24, 2022. He looked at 2 windows and put in 3 "little H sponges". He said he would be back with more "little H sponges", that was almost a month ago. I haven't heard or seen this person since March 24, 2022. Meanwhile I have a huge amount of cold air coming in 16 windows all the time. I keep the thermostat at 63 degrees (it is maddening to think expensive heated air going out of 16 windows). I am retired and trying to improve my house, but I think choosing Renewal by Andersen to replace my windows was a HUGE mistake. Renewal by Andersen dose NOT seem to eager to help me. They say "little H sponges" will help prevent cold infiltration. If so, now I realize my 16 windows will be only as good as the 16 "little H sponges". I wonder what Renewal by Andersen's warranty is on 16 "little H sponges". I HIGHLY suggest anyone considering replacement windows with Renewal by Andersen demand a Blower Door Test to identify areas of infiltration around their newly installed windows, I wish I had done this.
Desired outcome: I want to know why my windows leak in cold air. (Hot air in the summer). I want efficient windows like Renewal by Andersen advertises. If Renewal by Andersen can not do this, I want a total refund.
