On 9/22/2021 at approximately 2 pm I went to Walgreen's on Hoosick St. in Troy, NY 12180.
I was called in, no greeting except a demand to put on a mask - not in a friendly way; she appeared to be in a bad mood? Name :Heather-no ID tag.
Nothing else, except "sit there" was said; I was not asked for my full name or date of birth.
Then she said "sign here"-I asked why and she said it's for Medicare; I said Wellcare is my ins; she said your doctor put Medicare on lab slip. I wanted to see it but she said-just sign, so I signed and she repeated SIGN!- I had already signed and not knowing the date I asked for it — this seemed to bother her for some reason.
I asked if Joanna still worked here and noted how nice she was; the tech then said-"she was fired from the company for stealing, how nice is she now?". I think this was extremely wrong of her to say... because I know someone who knows someone, and you know how rumors start. I did say it was too bad she was gone, and I believe this further aggravated the lab tech.
She then asked me why I was in a bad mood-I was Not in a bad mood — I hadn't done anything except what she asked. She then Ripped the clipboard roughly from my hands (arthritic hands); I was so shocked I tossed the pen on the table — which I know I shouldn't have; it was a spontaneous reaction to having been treated so awfully.
She then told me to get out or she would call the police-because I tossed the pen!
Very abhorrent treatment.
And she apparently assumed because I was 74 that I had Medicare; I put my Wellcare card in when I checked in along with my license.
I had to return for the lab slip bc I was afraid of her and rushed out of the lab. When I checked the lab slip, there is nothing on there indicating my doctor had noted my insurance was Medicare; there was nothing on the lab slip with the noun Medicare anywhere. She seemed to not want re-do the paperwork; if she had drawn my blood, the payment would have been all messed up.
Desired outcome: That lab tech needs to be written up/disciplined or fired.
