1/04/20. 4:20pm Today, I went to shop/exchange an item at this location. As I walked in the store I asked African American sales associate if I'm allowed to walk around with my item I was planning to exchange for something else, she stated yes you can. I was with my 7 year old son, as I was searching for a sweater, I noticed an employee came in with her pit bull full sized dog unleashed. I felt very unsafe while shopping with my son. I monitored the situation hoping the employee would leave with her dog, however that did not happen. I informed my son that we may just leave due to the dog not being on a leash. This employee does not have a support animal as one of the associates tried to mention. As I have seen her in this store before with no pet. This was very poor unsafe judgement for managers on duty and sales associates. As I was deciding to leave one of the associates approached me and mentioned to me I was misinformed by the African American sales associate regarding the policy by being allowed to walk around with my exchange in the bag. I told her i was misinformed, if the store has cameras you could clearly see me asking when I entered the store.
At this point I mentioned the uncomfortable feeling I had with the unleashed pit ball. They manager and sales associates, disagreed with my level of concern for my safety & my child. They didn't understand and told me to leave if I'm uncomfortable the dog doesn't bite. This is unacceptable for a business to allow this. I left the store and didn't complete my exchange. I am reporting to cooperate mgt. So hopefully changes can be made for customers. Please feel free to contact me. [protected]
