Good morning. I checked into the Extended Stay in Romeoville IL on October 26, 2019. When I got to the room, I noticed there was a foul odor. I was having a birthday party and my sister and I were rushing to change our clothes so we didn't have time to contact the front desk. When we got back that evening, we noticed a letter on the counter apologizing for not cleaning our room. (see attached) I could not believe it! Now we knew why the room had a foul odor! As we were preparing for bed, my sister pulled by the bedding and noticed there was hair in the bed! At that point we starting looking around and found more hair in the bathroom which wasn't our hair! My sister went to the front desk to complain. The gentleman at the desk apologized and gave us clean sheets to change the beds! The next morning, we spoke to a lady at the front desk who again apologized and stated they were understaffed but watched the cleaning lady change the sheets. She also said she noticed the smell and told her to put a "glade" in the room. I guess that didn't happen. I called guest services who took the complaint and said she would have the general manager Ryan Ratliff contact me. As I was talking to Ryan trying to explain what happened, he was rude, kept over talking me and wouldn't let me express my dissatisfaction! I asked for a full refund. He rudely offered me 1/2 of a refund or another stay at any Extended Stay for free. I was on a plane going out of town and asked if I could call him later. He basically rushed me into accepting one or the other so I chose the free stay. I am filing this complaint because someone needs to know how customers are being treated. I probably won't use the free stay in fear of getting another nasty hotel room. Thank you.
