On 3/22/2021, I requested refills of two prescriptions from CVS Pharmacy Store #7712 located in Loganville, GA. Completely routine transaction.
However, upon examination my prescription for Atorvastatin RX#1734084 was mislabeled as Lisinopril RX #1734077.
The billing was correct. The information printed on the white prescription envelope was correct. The label on the bottle is for the wrong drug. I had ordered refills of both drugs at the same time and received both drugs.
This is not the first time that I had received erroneously labeled prescriptions from this pharmacy and have made multiple trips back to the pharmacy to get them corrected. I have also filed multiple complaints with the on-line review app, but these errors continue to occur. I've never had any sort of problems with CVS pharmacies in over 20 years of using them until I moved here and began using this one.
While I recognize that this pharmacy is extremely busy and are able to refill prescriptions in a reasonable time, I have to wonder how long it will be before someone is killed suffers a serious injury from taking an incorrect prescription. OSHA accident data shows that for every 3 near-miss accidents one will result in either a death of injury. I believe that the operations in this store are working on borrowed time!
Desired outcome: Increase number of employees working on filling prescriptions or change procedures to improve outcome.
