I visited my local UPS Store #6903. I went to get copies made and notarzied. The associates name helping me was Chauncey. My complaint is that Chauncey thinks he is above the rules and laws of providing me a notary. My license is expired as the DMV and Passport agency's in Atlanta are 3-8 months behind, due to the pandemic. Chauncey refused to notarize my documents, because of a expired license. I explained to him the law in Georgia in regards to notarizing. The law states that if the expired I. D or Passport is over 5 years expired, then you can NOT get documents notarized. My I. D was expired about 1 year. I have flown on every major airline with a expired I. D and Passport. The TSA allowed everyone with expired I. D to fly, due to the backlog and DMV offices closed. I asked him politely to follow the notary law and make a exception. Chauncey needs to understand that my expired I. D was acceptable, as the picture was clearly me. Chauncey was having a bad day or perhaps he is discriminating because I was white. His demeanor and tone was insulting. Chauncey needs to find a new job, as his knowledge and poor attitude, and poor customer service. I have never had this issue at any UPS Store. I am 45 years old and was treated like a child getting a lecture and lesson. I waste $ 16.26 cents, and wasted my time. Never again!
Desired outcome: Proper training for Chauncey. A waste of $16.26. A phone call from a Supervisor to my number. [protected]
