I was in the store today 12/21/22 in the afternoon and I browsed while my brother-in-law and nephew shopped for new earbuds. I saw a display of audio sunglasses from Bose so I tried them on and thought they sounded pretty good. So I took a picture and started texting my wife to share what I found. My brother-in-law was at the register paying for the item he brought. I was standing behind him. I was approached by one of the loss prevention employees in a black shirt. He asked me if I needed help with anything. I told him politely no and that I was just waiting for my brother-in-law to pay. I continued texting and he looked over my phone at what I was texting. This is incredibly rude. What exactly gives him the right to look at someone's texts. And with all the cameras around I can't believe this employee can't tell the difference between someone browsing products and sharing a picture, and someone stealing products. I'm a former Best Buy employee and this is not standard procedures. I felt so insulted having this person not only mistake me for a thief but to also enter my personal space and read my text. This is was in the afternoon. The employee caucasian, heavy set with short dark cropped hair.
Desired outcome: Disciplinary action. This is an important job and this employee needs to differentiate between customers and potential threats
