FPL disconnects power and services when they want to with no regulation. I have recently received a disconnect notice. My bill is 13 days late when I received the notice. The cut off date was 2 days before the next billing cycle ended. How can you cut my power when I am not even 30 days late and the balance owed is less than half of my $500.00 deposit. Seems to me that you checked my credit, took a Security Deposit, and commenced to loan me power on a revolving credit type basis. Sounds like a Banking Institution to me. I believe that there were major Banking regulatory changes in 2008. I also believe that since the power company acts as a Monetary Lender, they should be subjected to Federal Banking and Lending Statues. Cut my power off before the 30 day Federally established limits and maybe we will have to start a Class Action Suit and subject this National Power Conglomerate to Banking and Lending Legislation. Just the standard UberRich greed.
