I put in a reservation at Hoffner location in Orlando Florida a week in advance. I called three days prior to my reservation Just to confirm that I have all the necessary documents to rent the vehicle because I just recently moved to Florida. I was told I wouldn’t need a in state drivers license. I get to the location and I’m told that I would need an in-state drivers license to rent the vehicle. Although I was told on Monday that I wouldn’t need a in-state drivers license all I would need was extra documentation, because I was renting with a debit card and the documentation would support my move and new address. I asked the manger (zack) at the location to please review the call where I was insured that I wouldn’t need a instate driver’s license his response was he has new staff that may not know all the proper procedures and that there was nothing he can do. This is such an inconvenience. With Thanksgiving being tomorrow and all I’m trying to do is get a car to spend the holiday with my family but I’m not able to will be stuck spending thanksgiving alone all because I was lied to or given “miss information” as they keep referring to but again there has to be some kind of accountability and it shouldn’t be at the customers expense that you have new staff given out wrong information.
Desired outcome: The call from Monday to be reviewed and what I was told to be honored that I would be able to rent a car with an out of state License using a debit card providing utility bill, pay stub and lease agreement.
