Quest Diagnostics:
On November 14, 2019, at 0916, lab order request 0146525 was made to Quest Diagnostics by my nephrologist. On the morning of March 6, 2020, I made an appointment for 1115 of that day at 8602 SW State Road 200, 103RD Street Plaza Suite J, in Ocala Florida; I showed up at about 1100, scanned in, and waited. I was called at about 1105, and the lady that called me was inattentive to me, appearing to deal with other people. When she was finally done, she showed me to a room, I sat down, and was then told there was no order for my lab, when I know positively the lab order, requisition # 0146525, was made months in advance. I was booted out and was told I had to take care of it. I called my physician, and a copy of the previous request was sent at 1107 that same day. I went back in, and was told I needed to wait in line, by grinning employees, essentially voiding my appointment. As it was after 1130, I had to leave, because I had a doctor's appointment at noon of that day.
I understand with low unemployment creates a hardship on hiring competent employees, but a good paying respectable job is still hard to find, and a search comes up with a Phlebotomist salary at Quest at minimally $16 an hour, which is pretty darn good for such minimal education requirements. With a degree in electronic engineering technology I was making less, with no healthcarePTOsick401etc. I am sure if you really look, you can find qualified, competent, employees. I would hope some kind of discipline happens; with all the caring smart competent people out there with low paying jobs, why not grab some of those people and get rid of some of your lousy workers.
