Very very disappointed with the sale of my 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. Received an estimated quote from Chris Ellis at Roseville Honda AutoNation. He said sight unseen estimate between $2,000 and $3,000. I said I would like $2,200 and he said we can make that work. He sent a follow-up email 9/28/23 and he said his team gave me the estimate earlier and he may be worth more if I'm interested. Just say Yes. I responded Yes. When I got there, he said his buyer would not go $2,200 and said they wanted $1,425. I thought that was the quote so I said OK. When he came with the paperwork, it was $1,000 they will give me for the car. I was shocked to say the least because I got other quotes around $1,400 to $2,000 from other companies and would have taken them. I took the long trip up to Roseville to get the better deal but ended up getting much less than I expected. I sold the car because I didn't want the hassle but just want to let you know that is not the way to do business. It's almost borderline fraud or at least false representation. Shame on AutoNation.
Desired outcome: $2,200 payment for the 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. (It has a fairly new 2 year old hybrid battery that is worth $5,500 per Elk Grove Honda.
