Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) - nsf charges

They did not credit me for my deposit! I gave the teller a deposit on Friday around noon. Here is the actual figures of what should show on my account:

Date Description Amount Balance
06/17 Counter Deposit $334.70 $666.70
06/17 Check 1128 $475.00- $191.70
06/17 Internet Pmnt $17.95- $173.75
06/17 CckCrd Purchase $7.16- 166.59

As you can plainly see, my account was not overdrawn and any NSF fees charged were done illegally. Here are the figures they sent to me:

Date Description Amount Balance
06/17 Counter Deposit $334.70 $666.70
06/17 Deposit Funds Unavailable $334.70- $332.00
06/17 Courtesy Credit $100.00 $432.00
06/17 Check 1128 $475.00- $43.00-
06/17 Internet Payment $17.95- $60.95-
06/17 Check Card Purchase $7.16- $68.11-
06/17 Overdraft Fee $70.00- $138.11-

That is appalling. That is theft.

Unless you deposited cash, a bank has the right to place a hold on those funds deposited via paper check to make sure the check clears and the funds are available. You need to keep tabs on your account balance. You should be able to view your available balance online (or on your deposit receipt).
