Digital audio from DirecTV DVRs has delay when playing back live or recorded programs. Video starts first, then audio starts 2-3 seconds later. There is no delay when analog audio is used. Their engineering department says it is my Pioneer home theater receiver, not their DVR that is causing the delay. Pioneer says the receiver could not delay audio playback even if they wanted it to. I had the problem with my previous Sony receiver so it is not the receiver--it is clearly the DVR. I have tried to send a complaint to their president Michael White but the "Office of the President" intercepts all correspondence addressed to him.
I have documented the problem and my efforts to get DirecTV to take ownership of it. I would attach it except that it is in WORD format and only picture formats can be attached. I will be glad to e-mail it to anyone who cares to see it.
