USHEALTH Group USHealth Group Insurance

A broker set us up with USHealth Group in January of 2023. We were able to get on a marketplace plan in May of 2023. I called in April to ensure our plan was cancelled. Turns out they've continued taking money from our account all this time. Stolen over $6,000 from our small business savings account. When I called they say they have no records of any calls from me other than January which is not true and I have phone records now to prove it.

This company is as crooked as they come and I'll spend all my free time to warn everyone I can about them!

Claimed loss: $6,000

Desired outcome: REFUND!

USHEALTH Group Health insurance

1 Star only because 0 isn't an option.

Stay far away. This company is fraudulent.

I was laid off and needed "gap" insurance for myself and my 3 month old daughter for 3 months until we could join her healthcare plan. When I spoke with an agent to get signed up, I made 2 things VERY clear:

1. I needed a plan that would cover vaccinations for my daughter as she would be receiving her 4 and 6 month vaccinations during the time we would be covered.

2. I needed coverage to end effective on a specific date as we would then be covered under my wife's insurance.

I was billed for the 4 and 6 month vaccinations and nothing was covered. I called to dispute it and got nowhere with customer support. They said their company policy to file a claim was for me to email the customer service rep who would forward my email to their manager who would then forward my email to their Customer Affairs department. They would not CC me on any emails nor was there any way to confirm that my claim was received. They would not give me contact information for their Customer Affairs department and there is nothing online to contact them directly.

They also charged me past the date when my policy was to be cancelled. I called to dispute this an]\d they claimed that I never called to cancel my policy.

This company is fraud to the highest degree. In 3 months (4 since they didn't cancel my policy when asked) I will have spent $3500 out of pocket with ZERO coverage for my daughter's vaccinations.

They should be shut down.

FRAUD. FRAUD. FRAUD.

Desired outcome: FULL REFUND

USHEALTH Group US Health Group

My wife and I have a small business we currently have health insurance but the coverage has changed and our preferred network of hospitals and drs changed so we decided to search elsewhere.

We were given 3 policy choices by the agent we were working with. UHC, Cigna and Blue Cross

What turned out to be US Health Group was sold to us as UHC and the premiums were significantly less and the coverage, deductibles were much better.

We had a underwriting phone call but I assumed this was a 3rd party for UHC it wasn't. When I received cards in the mail and researched the name US health group and freedom I realized this was not what i signed up for. I quickly called and cancelled the plan before they deducted the premium from my business account.

USHEALTH Group Insurance

My agent is a liar and she is only doing what the company pays her to do. This is a discount card not insurance. If you go to hospital and admitted you will have reality check its not insurance. I suggest you get real insurance if you can't afford insurance check for state programs. Its decent for regular doctor visits. If you get ill and hospitalized then be prepared for 10k plus out of pocket. If your on a family plan it will cripple you. Stay clear and don't trust the sales agent.

Desired outcome: I want them to cover my hospital fees since the agent is a liar. People sign up trusting the United Healthcare brand name. How this is pure junk!

USHEALTH Group Quoted me a price lower than what I'm being charged

I was quoted $335/mo by agent Kyle Joseph Moran agent #[protected]. I've been being billed over $440/mo. He did a bate and switch! I even cancelled my prior insurance for the one he was offering me. He acknowledged he made the mistake when I spoke to him on the phone today. He said he listed me as a man and that quote was lower. That makes no sense because I also had to have a recorded phone interview to be approved for this insurance and I'm obviously a woman! The form completed and contained in my packet says Female! This is not acceptable and it needs to be fixed!

My name is L. I'm a [protected] healthy woman, with a 98 year old mother and prior family who all lives into their 90's. I've never smoked; I'm fit; I have no pre-existing conditions, and I have no prior medical issues.

Desired outcome: I want to be billed the amount I was quoted and changed insurance companies for which is $335.00

USHEALTH Group Health insurance we've paid a Fortune for is putting my daughter's health and our family's financial future at risk

If I could give negative stars, I would. We've had this insurance for many years and have probably paid well over $100,000 in premium over that time. We've had no medical expenses until recently, so we didn't know how horrible they were until my daughter needed surgery in August. They ignored our claim forms, phone calls and emails for more than 3 months until I left a negative review online, at which point they had Karen Falgoust, Sr. Consumer Affairs Specialist, reach out to me.

For three months, Karen facilitated our claims so my daughter could get the care she needed and we could utilize the benefits we'd been paying for the past decade. She did ask in an email on 8/13/21 if I would remove my negative comments online, and I advised that I would once all the medical bills covered by our plan were paid in a timely manner.

Unfortunately, Karen started responding evasively to my messages in November, then stopped responding to me completely when I emailed additional bills for payment on 1/13/22 and followed up on 2/11/22.

We had to pay the surgeon out of pocket because his billing manager said US Health Group has such a horrible reputation in the medical community for doing everything possible to avoid paying bills and they couldn't take the risk of not getting paid. And of course US Health has gone silent now that I’m trying to get back the money we are owed.

I'm beyond disappointed that their improvement was so short-lived and US Health Group is once again putting my child's health and our family's financial future in jeopardy.

Desired outcome: Pay all outstanding and future medical bills for my daughter on the 2 accident claims they have already approved/begun paying on.

USHEALTH Group Flat out lied to about which docs were "In Network"

After being rushed through the 'paperwork', and rushed through a few calls, I finally asked specific questions about coverage for each of my docs. Subsequently each of those docs have told me that they have NEVER accepted this 'insurance'. They actually felt sorry that I was scammed. Docs I have had for 20 years. This will end up in legal for sure...

Desired outcome: Money back, no recourse from US Health for anything they did pay (prrescriptions)

USHEALTH Group insurance acceptance policy

They denied my application because I once had taken a prescription medication and had physical therapy.

Their underwriting process is a joke, there is no medical science behind their decision process, if you let them see your medical record they will do word searches and compare with an administrative check list using medical terms they do not understand, no followup for clarification, and just deny you.

This whole process took over 2 months, and my current had in the mean time expired, and was left uninsured after the denial.

This is also age discrimination because the older you are the more words they use to deny you with. They say if you come down with anything that you didn't tell them they will deny coverage (good thing I got denied), based on their business practices if i skinned my knee at age 8, and forget to mention it I will be denied coverage.

They also try to up-sell you on stuff that isn't really insurance, needlessly adding to the cost. Buyer beware.

USHEALTH Group read before buying insurance

Me and family have had ins with us health for 2 yrs now.in october son had inflamed appendix. After all said and done owed hospital close to 10k. Well it only paid $445.00 that threw up a red flag according to policy paperwork I had and what was covered. I started going back looking over the last 2 yrs and here's what I found. There had been 19k in claims filled. The provider (dr) gave 5k in discounts, ins paid only $1, 609 all together toward the 19k in claims. This ins was costing 1, 120 a month with all the perks they say.in all reality ins was costing 1, 620 a month when you break down claims. Wife called and discussed with ins company. They told here all these claims fall in a dark area thats not covered. Funny how that happens darn the luck. So I called and was given the run around for 3 weeks about cross referencing claims. I performed my own cross referencing and sent to them and was still given the run around. So as of today my policy was canceled. Im posting what I was sold so everyone can see its all great until you need it. Read this before you buy ins from this company. Please dont get in to the same mess I did with this company. Expensive lesson learn on my part.

The premier choice — premier med. The premier choice is a sickness and accident policy that has a zero deductible then pays 100% up to the benefit amount. It will pay for 6 doctor visits per person per year and whatever that person does not use will rollover to the next year. It will also pay for 2 visits per person to a urgent care clinic and 3 visits per person to a chiropractor. The drug card has a zero deductible then is $10 for generic and $30 for brand. It will also pay for lab, testing, xrays, etc.. With a zero deductible. If anybody is admitted into a hospital or needs to have surgery the claim can be filed on the premier med major medical which has a $4000 deductible then it will pay 100% unlimited! However there are some supplements included that will pay your $4000 deductible for you.. The executive diamond association has a $500 deductible then will pay 100% on any accident up to $10, 000 and if the accident claim were to go over the $10, 000 benefit they will apply $4000 to the $4000 major med deductible meaning on any kind of accident you will have a $500 deductible then it will pay 100% unlimited. It will also pay $800 per day of hospital income if anybody is ever hospitalized. The premier choice will also pay $1400 per day which totals $2200 per day. So, on a 2 day hospital stay the $2200 benefit times 2 equals a benefit of $4400 which is used to cover the deductible on the major med. This means on a 2 day hospital stay your out of pocket would zero with no maximum on company pay out. Also, if you are in the hospital more than 2 days it will continue to pay you $2200 per day and you can use this money to help offset loss of income, business expenses, personal bills, etc.. The medguard critical illness will pay you a lump sum of money on diagnosis if anybody is ever diagnosed with 15 major illnesses such as cancer, heart attack, stroke, etc.. So lets assume someone is diagnosed with cancer or had a heart attack the $4000 major medical deductible is deducted from that benefit and you will get a check made out to you for the balance and you can use that money to pay business expenses, loss of income, personal bills, etc.. Or you can use it anyway they want to. There is also a small life insurance benefit on you and wife for $150, 000 each and $15, 000 on each child. Us health group is rated a+ by the bbb and the la state insurance dept and the underwriter freedom life has the same ratings. Also, us health was given the award of top insurance company for 2016. With this policy you can go to any doctor and any hospital you choose, including specialty hospitals out of state. However, it is a ppo plan and uses the cigna network which you can find at the bottom of my website to view doctors and hospitals! I have been in insurance since 1986 and this is by far the best coverage you can get. Please let me know if you have any questions.

USHEALTH Group health insurance - scam?

Back in 2012 I already had some decent major medical health insurance but had. $2500 deductible.
I Received a call from an agent that was selling this ‘better insurance product" at a better rate.
I met with them and they said it only covered 1 medical office visit (sick) visit annually because ‘it is for healthy people that don't go to doctor much". It DID however cover all major medical hospital visits with No deductible and up to 2M coverage. He even went they the book and verified each major hospital in every city where we travel often.
Great! I signed up that day. I've been paying $300 a month for this coverage.

The complaint is this. I had a medical emergency last week that puy me in the hospital overnight, for 13 hours total. Of course billing came into my room and said my insurance is ‘basically no insurance' . She said it only covers a total of $250 of my stay. I asked you mean all but the first 250? She said "no only 250 total one time a year". I looked at her and said "whybth hell would anyone pay 300 a month for a 250 annual coverage"
Well I was released the next day and quickly received by bill in the mail. $16, 000.00 !
I called Freedom Life and asked them to explain my coverage. After a while of waiting and looking they responded with this.
" * No coverage for Doctors visits.
* Max 250 annually for ER visits.
* Max 400 daily for hospital visit, BUT
No coverage for Labs, Doctors, Doctor assistants, Surgeon, Surgeon Assistants, Anesthesiologist, Hospital Pharmacy.
WHAT ?!

So basically this $16, 000 bill is mine less 250 they cover!
That's crap! They've basically been stealing from me fo 6 years and now I still have a huge bill.
I've read this story online over and over and it's just not right. There should be a recourse for me (us).
What can I do? Where can I complain?

USHEALTH Group insurance marketed fraudulently; employees posts false positive reviews of its service

Alert
BBB found insurance agents associated with USHealth Group, Inc, the parent company of Freedom Life Insurance Company of America, had posted positive reviews on the company's BBB Business Profile. BBB's customer review policy states a reviewer may not have a personal or business affiliation with the business they are filing the review for.

In response to BBB's allegations, the company stated they identified the agents who posted the positive reviews and claimed they were customers of the business.
Pattern of Complaint
Based on BBB files, Freedom Life Insurance Company of America has a pattern of disputes alleging product and contract issues. Consumers allege the insurance agents from Freedom Life Insurance Company of America inform them that certain benefits are available in the plans they select. However, consumers later find out post enrollment that those benefits are not included and are subsequently billed for services they believed were included in their plans. Furthermore, consumers are informed by Freedom Life Insurance of America agents that the health insurance plans they enroll into are compliant with the Affordable Care Act. However, the consumers later find that the plans are not ACA compliant and are fined penalties by their states for not meeting the minimum coverage requirements.

USHealth Group, Inc, Freedom Life Insurance Company of America's parent company, responded to the pattern by refuting the claims made by BBB. USHealth Group, Inc states they have robust mechanisms in place that ensure consumers are well aware of the type of coverage they are enrolling in. Additionally, the business states due to the high number of applications they process the complaint size is too small to be labeled as a pattern and that the increase in the number of complaints correlates with the growth of their business.

For more details regarding disputes received by BBB, please visit the complaints tab of this business's BBB Business Profile.

USHEALTH Group insurance

Isnt it funny how all of the comments on this thread that are favorable to USHA/HG, have all of the thumbs up while the negative ones have all of the thumbs down? Its pretty clear to me this company has it employees go through these review pages and websites and attempt to mislead. Hey, actually wasnt this company accused of doing the same thing on the BBB website? Search this company on the internet and you will find all sorts of bad reviews and experiences. The company and CEO wins "awards" that are paid for by the company so they can attempt to combat all of the negative feedback. They claim these "awards" are prestigous, LOL. They just had a huge company retreat in Cabo Mexico with all of the money they are obtaining via misinformation/scamming. Bottom line: company is a scam, definition of shady. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

USHEALTH Group False & misleading advertising by CO agent

One or all of my family has had Freedom Life/ US Health Advisors plans for 15 years. We have never had any claims except my husband once used the accident rider. A week ago I applied for a new "Premier Choice' plan for myself only, and contacted the same Colorado independent sales agent I had previously used. I had always felt she was honest and trusted her advise - she has been an agent for 15 yrs. Unfortunately, I have learned that most things I was told were inaccurate and/or very misleading. I signed up for the Premier Choice plan that was supposed to be $185/mo with 1-yr rate lock, and only for very healthy people.

The details of the plans were never given to me in writing before I applied. I realize now I should have never signed up before getting every last detail. I was rushing to get coverage and had to ask for all of this information after the fact, in numerous emails and by phone. I was NEVER told this plan was NOT an ACA-approved plan and I would be charged a hefty penalty by the IRS at the end of 2015. When asking my agent about this after I had applied, she told me anyone can claim an exemption for this penalty. I looked into this, it is not true, you have to show that health coverage was more than 8% of your gross income. This is their way of convincing you to buy the non-ACA plans.

The monthly premium was supposed to be $185/mo. My account was drafted $235 yesterday, without ever consenting to this amount. When calling FL to ask, I was told there was a $40 application fee and that I was charged $195/month. I was NEVER TOLD ABOUT this $40 fee even though the agent repeatedly denies this. I talked with her 3 times by phone and at least 20 emails and this $40, nor $235 total was ever stated. Not to mention the premium being $10 more than stated. She claims this app fee is standard procedure and I should remember this from 15 years ago when my husband first applied. It is not true this is standard procedure.

I was told the effective date would be the date it was withdrawn from my account. This was not true, it was retroactive to the application date. My agent stated there is nothing to lose in applying and I can always change my mind once I know whether I am approved (conveniently never mentioning app fee again). Not true. They pull the money once you are approved, and this includes the $40 app fee.

I was told the policy would go through the end of the month since I was applying after the 1st. This was not true. Freedom Life told me it goes from application date to the same date the next month.

The agent was well-aware we were looking at Obamacare plans and I would possibly only have this FL plan for 2-3 weeks of Feb since the OC plans start March 1. I could write another page on all the negative things I was told about how bad these OC plans are and why the Freedom Life plans are much better. I have not found these claims to be true. I have since read many reviews about Freedom Life agents telling the exact same lies about the OC plans in order to sell their private plans.

When my agent was confronted about all this inaccurate information, she told me it was MY misunderstanding. There was no accountability for any piece of inaccurate or false information. She claims she told me all the things that she did not.

Freedom Life will tell you they hold no responsibility for what their agents tell customers. I asked Freedom Life to cancel my plan immediately. I asked when I would be refunded and was told it would go to the cancellation dept and would take 3-4 weeks, and there is no guarantee what amount I would be refunded. I immediately went to my bank and they issued an ACH dispute to get my full amount back. I then had them put a block on my account o keep them from taking money again. Be sure to do this immediately if you have the same experience.

STAY AWAY FROM FREEDOM LIFE INSURANCE/ US HEALTH GROUP/ NATIONAL FOUNDATION LIFE (I have all different names on letters from them). The agents subscribe to FALSE and MISLEADING ADVERTISING and the company is not accountable for anything customers are told by unethical agents.

I was charged over $250/month. Went to the doctors and this insurance covered about $200 of the $1, 800.00... I've tried to reason with customer service and will no be filing a report with the FTC. I strongly suggest to everyone that has been a victim of this fraudulent and falsified promise of 75% to 90% covered bull$!t doesn't go unnoticed.

Bluesinter is either a bot, or someone within their organization. This is ridiculous. You are taking hard working individuals money, and pocketing all of the profit to send a measly penny towards a medical bill. I needed prescriptions, and the sales associate that sold me this plan promised that I'd have to only pay a mere fraction of the cost.

Get this. Come to find out, when i actually needed the coverage that I was paying a ridiculous price for, I owed the pharmaceutical company $600.00 for ibrophen and motrin. COME ON! What in the living hell do you do for us? Nothing! Nothing at all! You need to be shut down. Immediately. Further prevented from ever making another penny, other than mopping up spooge at the nearest trailer park truck stop in forth worth texas. I'm coming after you. Let that be known.

Replying to comment of Dirk Rowe

Excuse me sir, but Bluesinter has presented absolutely nothing but facts. The Freedom Life plan covers up to $10 on generic prescriptions, if you had read any of the brochures you would have known that. Does anyone know what the key with this plan is to mitigate your out of pocket expense? It's COMMUNICATION with your agent. I know a family who has had Premier Choice through Freedom Life for years. Their son came down with leukemia, originally they were going to Texas Oncology in Dallas. That family had his son admitted into MD Anderson, treated, and had a full recovery 8 months later and you know what it costs him? 0$ out of pocket. That's the way the plans are structured. Just because it is unique and different from what you are usually seeing (which by the way, if you are NOT an insurance agent, there is a HUGE chance that you really have absolutely no idea what you're actually talking about) does not mean it does not work. But for it to work, if you get a bill in, if you feel like you're paying too much, call your agent! Instead of insisting that anyone is out to screw you over and take your hard earned money, I've seen this plan help WAY more people than it has ever hurt. If there is an miscommunication, it is on you for not asking questions, getting to the bottom of the ordeal, and really using the plan the way that you are supposed to. And you know what? It isn't for everyone. Unlike Obamacare plans, you actually have to qualify for it. So if it doesn't work for you, stick with an ACA plan with a 5000 deductible, high premium with that lovely HMO network. Let the people who understand how the policy works be the one to deal with it.

You need to understand that the most common cause of bankruptcy in the US is a major health incident occurring with the owner or important employee. Health Insurance is mostly aimed to cover in the event of a heart attack, etc. and pay the bills. Many health care plans do that but they all have different deductibles and co insurance fees. You need to weigh the plan in its entirety before jumping. Take the premiums and the deductibles and add in the coinsurance and that what the plan is really costing you. USUALLY MOST PEOPLE ARE SELF INSURING AGAINST A MAJOR PROBLEM with O8amma Care.

Dumb@ss is spreading false information. The plan pays $100 for a doctors visit unless you buy the bare bones ($75) plan which most people do not buy. He also fails to mention that the doctors visit is discounted because of being a member of the MultiPlan Doctor PPO is part of the plan. You get the discount and then you get the insurance coverage. You don't get the discount without being in some plan DUM@ss. All PPOs offer a discount so by your measure all plans are worthless because they offer a discount. You also get CALL-MD where you dont even need to go into the doctors for minor illnesses and you will get antibiotics and what not prescribed to your pharmacy without leaving your home. Try going to a clinic on Monday morning with an earache. Good luck with that. And then go get your O8ama Care plan with $6850 deductible and 60/40 Co-Insurance. You are basically self insuring with that plan. Most people never spend over $5000 a year so they never get there. You don't get any coverage (you do get the discount) until you meet the deductible and pay the co-insurance. Premier Choice has zero deductibles copays and co-insurance. And Nation Wide PPO. But if you listen to DUMB@SS all discounts are a bad thing. So Premier Choice is actually a pretty good deal

Premier is nothing going but a 361.00 discount card...I can save 75.00 off of a 150.00 office visit...or I can pay 80.00 with no Insurance...why in the hell would anyone want to spend 361.00 a month to save 5.00 ..? Premier is apparently in the business of making millions off of the non refundable fees consumers pay when they get duped and sign up for this crap...I'm sure most people cancel in the thirty day time frame as I did...and there is no problem getting the refundable portion of your money back...and don't by the way...it sounds like a telemarketers convention in the background when you call...so all I have to say is premier can kiss this dumb@ss goodbye..;)

This is for DUMB@SS, your name says a lot. This plan is a Nationwide PPO. There is no misleading information given. Its all there for you to read if you choose. It pays first dollar coverage and what is covered is totally available if you choose to look. It appears you do not so you go on these boards to complain. When you get the verification call you are told everything that this policy is and is not. Try Osama Care. Make a call to BCBS and see what kind of BS and run around you get there. And pay all those premiums and co-insurance and deductibles. Good luck with that. I've been there and done that.

just signed up today and was told nothing but lies...used car salesman that works for them looked up doctors that I inquired as to whether or not were on the plan he sold me flat out lied and said yes...NOT...the dental discount card that I'm paying 35.00 a month for is a total ripoff...found two dentist that accept it...covers free xray and exam when paying in full for cleaning...period... not even going to check the vision and Rx...I'm just going to the bank Monday morning and hope I can stop payment on this scam of a company

InformedBuyer thank you so much for your comment, the first one scared me as I just signed up today on my birthday and cancelled my ACA policy. I'm a pretty healthy 61 year old and the premiums for this now policy is a large reduction in my premium, from what I was paying $$$$. I'm retired from the medical billing industry owned my own company, this new policy is going to work out very well for me and have a few dollars to do other things with, so again thank you so very much for your comment. It's funny because your story doesn't really add up. Let me explain.

You said that member of your family have had this insurance for 15 years. You don't mention any complaints with the coverage during those 15 years which is consistent with the 85% renewal rate that Freedom Life boasts about. You then present all of these "things" that you were told but don't mention what the specific things are. You use scathing generalities that reverse 15 years of positive history? Doesn't quite add up.

We have this plan. My daughter fell and split her head open, had to go to the emergency room, and have 5 staples put in. Thankfully my agent insured me for the things that happen with kids and we didn't have deal with a second trauma when the bill came. We ended up responsible for $38. That worked a lot better than the ACA plan that was $200 more per month (and doesn't include the critical illness benefit that we enjoy) and left me with an out of pocket exposure of $5700. My monthly savings plus the sharp reduction in out of pocket expenses for all of the stuff that happens below a traditional deductible more than offset the small tax penalty that I am still going to have my accountant try get me exempt for.

It's only fair if you are going to be so vehemently denounce something than you have some specifics beyond hearsay that you were "later told" or heard from others. You just didn't use any facts other than some ambiguities that you blame your agent (who otherwise seems to have served you for 15 years with no complaint) for. It almost seems that perhaps you are a competitor just trying to slander them?

For me, the A+ BBB rating and the 85% renewal rate spoke for itself and it has worked out very well. And BTW do you think the ACA system wants anyone to think there is a better choice for us healthy folks? Kind of makes you think there are lots of places this negative review could have come from...

USHEALTH Group none

First of all USHealth Group isn't any part of Homeland Healthcare. Homeland Healthcare has several policies that they sell. Homeland does there customer service ONLY! I have had a policy since September when this policy came out and they have paid all my claims also they have covered my pre-exisiting conditions. So before you put something on here you might want to research the company more so you know what your talking about. Not all insurance companies are not going to satisfy everyone.
One happy customer :)

First of all USHealth Group is not part of Homeland Healthcare they are a separate company in itself. Homeland Healthcare has several policies that they sell. Also, Homeland Healthcare does the customer service only. So you might want to do more research if you start putting stuff on here if you don't know in the first place. There are many satisfied customers with USHealth Group and will keep being that way. So until you know the true facts don't write something you don't know. I have had the policy since it has been out in September and I haven't had any problems with them they have paid all my claims and also they covered my pre-existing condition.

A person ironically called me from US Health Groups ironically after I caught another fly by night company NABL that was bought by USCT that ripped me off for money each month - $350.00 and have not been paying their claims.

So today, the same day I cancel that and close a credit card. someone from US Health Groups calls me to sell their story. Once you dig down, there are complaints under AWA Association and that they are using Homeland Health Insurance with a zillion complaints under
Not who they say they are.
