United States Census Bureau Harassment from abigail triana regarding completion of census survey

Abigail Triana came to my home multiple times knocking and demanding I complete a US census survey. On March the 9th she knocked several times after being asked to leave, and stated "This is a warning and that she will return." On March 18th she returned and threatened if I did not fill out the form online or mail in a form I would be fined and jailed. March 21st and 22nd I contacted the corporate offices listed on the business card she left and explained the incident. Corporate gave me her supervisors information, Brenda Harmelin, whom I also contacted. I informed her that her employee made me feel uncomfortable and that if she returned I would file a harassment complaint or restraining order. On March 22nd (hours after I just spoke with her supervisor) I was returning home from walking my dog and Abigail was standing in front of my door and blocking the entrance to my home. I asked her to leave because I had a dentist appointment and needed to take my dog inside. After stating she would not leave, I decided to record this incident with my camera phone. I explained to her I did not complete the survey and I would like her to leave or I will call the cops. After several minutes of her blocking my entrance I stopped recording and contacted the Miami Beach Police Department. She stated she would wait on the cops, because she is doing her job. I manage to move pass her and up the steps to my home. While I'm speaking to the officer she was still waiting outside my door. I explained to the officer over the phone what was happening and he advised me what needed to be done in order to file a harassment complaint. My next step will be a restraining order. I understand she has a job. Her job is to inform citizens about filing out a census survey, not to harass and threaten citizens if they don't comply. Additional screening and training should be done for those working for or representing our government even its a survey worker for the US Census Bureau.

United States Census Bureau Don't subscribed for their plans

I checked the website www.census.us.org and I found the plan, which I searched for. I indicated all my details after I checked their prices. It was mentioned that they would take only $2 for the plan. However, they charged me for $19.99 and didn’t warn me about it. I asked for the refund and said that I didn’t see this fee, but the customer services ignored my requests.

United States Census Bureau They are have crossed the line into harassment

We have been receiving phone calls from the United States Census Bureau of up to three times day for several weeks. They are calling at multiple times, day and night to include Sunday. Sometimes they leave a message and other times they do not. We completed the original paperwork and want an end to the nonsense. Over the phone I have told them to quit calling but they continue. They are have crossed the line into harassment.

I am not going to name the name of the representative who came unceasingly calling at our door. the survey he wanted us to complete was totally voluntary and yet he made NO mention of that fact - I looked it up on your website and found the answer. He kept calling and leaving notes for first me then my partner. His ongoing line was that he was mandated by congress to do this - when I found out it was voluntary I shut him down by telling him I would offer a formal complaint against him if he continued his harassment. we don't mind doing what is necessary for the census and when one of your representatives tries to pass this particular survey off as mandatory...I leave you to fill in the blanks...his implications of us not being patriotic were thinly veiled and reprehensible. If he is trained NOT to say this was voluntary then the fault lies with the Census bureau. If he does anything or any other representative of yours calls after this I will then make a formal complaint complete with names - he did say he would pas this on to other representatives and they would call on us...

United States Census Bureau I am beyond frustrated with the u.s. government

So a Census worker came by my house a few months ago, bit my lip as she's asking WAAYY too many questions than the Constitution calls for, and then my phone number. I should have known better.

I keep getting voicemails from them (they like to call me at work) but today took the cake: They called me at 5:00AM! Unfortunately I didn't get to bed until 1:00AM, and couldn't fall back asleep.

I am BEYOND frustrated with the U.S. Government!

United States Census Bureau This is a terrible business practice, and harassment

A lady from the census bureau came to my house and my boyfriend talked to her because I was in bed sick. She asked him about the vacant townhouse next to my house. He said yes, it was empty.

The next day I get a missed call and voice mail on my phone from the census bureau. I didn't call back.

Two days later I answer a call from the census bureau asking for my boyfriend. I tell them that I'm not around him, and this was my phone number and they could ask me what they needed instead. Then the call dropped, or she hung up, not sure which.

I get home and my boyfriend calls them back and bluntly tells them to leave us alone and that when the lady was at my house she had told him that they wouldn't be needed any more information and he gave her my phone number not expecting them to call me.

Then, the next day I get another call from them, in which I tell them that we just spoke to them the day before and NO no one lives in the house next door! And please quit calling because the information is not going to change, how many times do we need to tell them, especially when they were here and SAW that the house is vacant.

And now today, another person calls asking for my boyfriend. Before I say anything I said this is MY phone, what do you want now? And he said they were calling about the work done.

I was pissed off at this point and said WORK? There was no work done here, are you calling about the house next door? And he said yes, (house #). I said it is still vacant, it has been vacant since I moved here and TAKE ME OFF YOUR CALL LIST and hung up on him.

I'm fed up with this. You do not send someone to MY house, ask about a house next door and get an answer from my boyfriend then keep calling and asking for him. He's not going to change his story. The house IS vacant, and I am the one who owns this house, and every time I tell you information you want to verify it with my boyfriend. He is not the owner of this house, or the cell phone you keep calling, so PLEASE leave me alone.

I've been called a total of 7 times including voicemails and missed calls, this is seriously ridiculous. I do not understand why one would have to even verify something when you came out in person to ask in the first place then call to speak to the same person you asked originally. The story will not change no matter how many times you call. This is a terrible business practice, and harassment.

United States Census Bureau Repeated census calls

We received our census forms in the mail. Both my husband and I filled them out and returned them. Next someone showed up at our door. Again, we answered all questions. Then my husband received a phone call, we explained we had already filled out the forms and talked to someone at out door, didn't matter, they had him answer questions for 10 minutes. The next night they called my phone, I told them my husband had already completed the 10 min. interview and they said there was no record of it. I told them I was not doing it. Three times since that night they have left messages on my phone telling me to return a call to them. This is bordering on harassment!

I was interviewed by phone by the same staff at least four times and yet he kept calling. This same staff came to my door, banged it loudly and when I answered the door, he asked me if I speak English when I am already talking in English. He said he asked because I am not caucasian. Then he called the next day and I told him there is NO more info I can give but that did not stop him from calling. Then a Supervisor called me and told her the same info. She said she will update their record about me and that should be it- no more calling. Then a Theresa Meyers suddenly appeared at my door and I told her I no longer have any new info to provide because I have answered all questions already. But that did not stop her from calling (three times). Next thing I knew she was at my door again. I noticed that she had parked in front of my house waiting and when I opened my door to let my son come in, she approached me again. This time I told her, this is already stalking and harrassing and I do not want to see her again. I warned her that next time she showed up at my door, I will call the police. Well today is May 16, 2018, she had called about three times already since the other day. Luckily I recognized the number and did not answer the phone.
IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO STOP THIS HARRASSMENT AND STALKING? IS SOMEBODY OUT THERE LISTENING?

United States Census Bureau harrassing phone calls from the u.s. census bureau

The number of times these people are calling a day are outrageous, They said fill out the form and send it in, you WILL not be be bothered by the bureau once you send in the form, no phone calls no visits. That is false advertising! They are calling all day and all afternoon and sometimes at night. This is harrassment and they our violatingour civil rights! Somebody please do something because this people are rude and nasty tempered when they call. We have told them to stop calling and that we dont want to talk to them and they laugh and say " we are just going to keep calling and calling until you give us the information we want." What more do they want? we answered the survey filled out all the questions correctly. We as a people have rights! Cant we sue these people or something?

What are the purpose of these calls? He said they didn't get a response from that address. I told him it was vacant. He did not stop there. Wanted to know how long it had been vacant? I told him I did not know, it was vacant when my agent listed it. When did you list it, that will probably tell me how long it has been vacant. Is it for rent and for sale? Why wouldn't I give him the information? I told him I had never gotten a call from a census bureau asking such questions. I asked him why the US census bureau wanted to know all these things? He said it was a way to find out if it was habitable! That was enough for me. I told him he could go on Zillow and look up the address.

United States Census Bureau - Census taker trespassed on my property

Someone pounding on my back door so hard I thought they were going to break it in.It was a census taker. I told them we did not use that door. They came around to my deck but could not enter the deck because the gate to the deck is locked to keep out intruders. My property has NO TRESPASSING signs posted . I told them I had filled out and mailed in the...

United States Census Bureau Census workers are too aggressive

This morning my doorbell rang and so my elderly mother answered it. After a few minutes, she had not come back so I decided to see what was keeping her. As I walked downstairs I saw a man yelling at her holding the door open with his foot. It was a Census worker. In my pajamas, I nicely said mom please come in and close the door, but this census worker just ignored me and yelled louder. I could not believe at the complete disrespect this man was showing when in fact mailed out the census questions myself! Not to mention this guy could have been anybody-he did not even have photo ID. We tried to be nice but in the end it took the two of us to physically push the door closed. I am outraged!

United States Census Bureau rude threatening census bureau worker

A worker from the Census bureau showed up during dinner. We already sent our Census form in. She insisted that "they didn't receive it". I asked how is it my problem that the US Government can't deliver its own mail to itself and told her we were in the middle of dinner, and she immediately became threatening, rude and angry. She insisted that we "had" to give her our info and we are required by law to respond, ignoring my repeated statement that we DID in fact respond and now is not a good time for me to explain that to her. She got flat-out nasty and started yelling. So much for bothering to do my civic duty. Never again.

United States Census Bureau incompetency of the us census bureau

Before the Census Survey was mailed out, I received a postcard stating the importance of the Census Survey. The Survey arrived in the mail and I promptly completed and returned it. I then received 2 more postcards reminding me to complete the survey which I had already done. Last week I received a call to verify all information. The man was not very nice or personable but was happy to waste my time asking questions I'd already answered on the original Census Survey. Today, a Census representative came to my door and asked me to complete the form AGAIN! I expressed my frustration to her and she stated that they had no record of our neighborhood's data.

I am appalled that the US Government is spending such and obscene amount of money on this Census! There was 10 years to plan for this and it was obviously poorly planned, managed and executed.

I totally agree, and more people should be outraged at our government for the intruding questions. I've had two representatives come to my home and leave cards, one even left a card and a note stating I'm on the complaint list! The day after I filled out the survey on line. Many of the questions are very intrusive and the government has no reason to ask such questions. IT Isn't just a population count any more. It's bad enough we are listened to, have camera's everywhere. Freedom? What is FREEDOM in this country? OUR Government spends OUR tax payer dollars with out any regard to any of us. Don't get me started on the politics of this country!

Do we have any legal recourse against the intrusive questions on the census forms. The purpose of the census has been to count the people. But now it has reached a very intrusive level! you are threatened by your government under penalty of law to fill out a form that is absolutely none of the government's business in the first place--like How many times have you been married. So much financial information was required that i had to pull my tax forms to get information. Do you have any freedom in America now? I answered the questions to the best of my ability, but I also wrote comments on the form saying "this is none of your business". How will they count illegals and homeless people? the census will be flawed right from the get go. Just count the people and leave the population alone! I am beyond furious! We do not have real freedom in America--just a pretense of freedom.

United States Census Bureau there should be a fine for workers who act like this

I have had the census worker knock hard on my door on repeated occasions. I have chosen not to allow strangers in my residence for safety reasons as well as not given in to being bullied. I called a cenus number to give my information since the cenus never bothered to seen me a survey. The worker on the phone was not taken back nor cared that the survey taker/worker was being harassing. These persons do not have the right to DEMAND or push around people. This is American. We have rights. There should be a fine for workers who act like this.

United States Census Bureau I feel threatened and violated by these intruders

We live in rural west Texas. We have a PO Box and did not receive a census in the mail. The census takers drove past no-tresspassing signs on to the middle of our property in a very large diesel truck. My husband agreed to answer the basic questions required by law. The couple then proceeded to give him business cards and also gave a very long explaination of their home business. The man had binoculars and was spying on our neighbors as my husband answered the census questions. They asked my husband how to get to our neighbors house because he could see him moving around on his property. My husband explained that he had answered all the required questions and did not felt it was an invasion of our neighbors privacy to give these people any kind of directions. My husband did direct them off of our property. They then proceeded to flag down a car down on the main road. That man told them to drive across the back part of our property where we had explicitly asked them not to go. They proceeded to drive over and kill several native plants while turning around when they realized they could not make it through. They also drove over the guy wire that holds our electric pole up and bent it into the ground. My husband called them and asked for an apology. Just a minute ago, Mr. Heidebrecht left a rude and inflamatory message on our phone machine. He denied driving back on our property and said even if he did it was my husband's fault for not giving him directions to our neighbors house. He sounded quite drunk and threatening. These people also spent 15-20 minutes just sitting in their truck on our property. Mr. Heidebrecht informed my husband he is a Vietnam vet and I found his tone of voice on the phone to be menacing and frightening. I have pictures of his tire tracks, plant damage and telephone guy wire damage. We asked him for an apology and he called us and frightened me. I will keep the message. I also don't appreciate people I don't know spying on me with binoculars on my private 15 acres. Is this standard procedure for census takers? I feel threatened and violated by these intruders and the damage they have done to my environmentally sensitive desert property.

United States Census Bureau they continue to harass us at home and on my husband's cell phone

We have received our 5th phone call in the last 2 weeks regarding our census which was completed and mailed back the day after we received the form(s). We completed 2 forms - one for my mother-in-law who lives in a nursing home but owns a multifamily property and one for our single family household. We have told the callers that the information was sent back in accordance with their instructions, yet they continue to harass us at home and on my husband's cell phone. Enough is enough!

United States Census Bureau wrongful termination

I called the following number: [protected] on March 29th to challenge the above action taken against me during a recent job I had with the US Census Bureau. Someone returned my call after a few days, and took some information from me, and said that a person from the regional branch of OEO (?) who would be handling my complaint, would be contacting me within 3 - 5 business days. It has been more than a week, and no-one has called back to take up my complaint. Is there a way you can contact the appropriate person who can call me to take this matter up without an excessive delay?

PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE CENSUS BUREAU RE; THIS COMPLAINT, as they have already told me it must be handled by OEO.

United States Census Bureau poor experience

I had a very poor exprience with this company. I had ordered a stick of memory from them, which turned out to be incompatible with the existing memory in my system. When I attempted to return it I had to make two attempts to get an rma request answered. Following this the request was declined with a statement saying they will not accept returns on memory. This statement also included a reference to this policy in their check out process. I typically check for this type of statement and didn't remember seeing one, I also went back to the web site and could not find one. I then requested that the company show me where this statement was on the web site, I got a response with a non-functional link. Based on this I am assuming the company actually does not inform customers of this policy prior to purchase and will not be dealing with this company again.

Every few month, I get phone calls that ID as Census Bureau. Today a man was in my driveway. I understand that the Census was in 2020, NOT in 2023. This is either a scam or harassment by a Federal agency. Leave us alone, we want PRIVACY.

2 wks ago a person claiming to work for the Census Bureau came to my home dressed in camo clothing. My dog almost went through the front window when he saw this person. They wanted to ask me questions, I told them I completed the Census online months ago. Today another person came to my back door from the Census bureau. STOP HARRASSING ME!
