Ulta Beauty review: Gift card

I am truly hoping you can help me with this unfortunate situation.

In December, while visiting my home in Venice Florida, my boyfriend and I decided to get some Christmas shopping done. His 24-year-old daughter, is a ROUTINE customer at Ulta Beauty. I suggested we stop by the new Venice Fl Ulta Beauty Store and purchase a gift card, as it would be easy for us to transport back to NJ. He purchased a $250.00 gift card.

His daughter, Allie, was thrilled to have received the gift card from her father on Christmas morning. Fast forward….. she went to a local Ulta Beauty store to use the gift card and was told, while checking out, that there was no money on the card. After a few phone calls, made by her, she was told the gift card had been used in Florida on 12/26. She lives in NJ. The gift card was purchased in Florida, but brough back to NJ. If I had to guess, I would suspect that we were given a “blank” gift card and that the “loaded” gift card may have been kept by the cashier. I am requesting video footage of the transaction. I have not had any luck with reaching the correct individual to make this happen (video footage) at the Venice, Florida store.

An easier solution would be to have a new gift card sent as soon as possible.

I plan to share this unfortunate experience/situation with all, as will Allie with her friends, who I believe makeup a large percentage of your target audience. I am so disheartened and very saddened by this and hope that we can remedy this immediately before I act and seek the assistance of atReportFraud. ftc.gov, social media, and my local NY news channel – see below:

This experience has left me with a feeling of sadness for myself, as I suggested the idea, but mostly for my boyfriend and his 24-year-old daughter.
