My son had oral surgery at a renowned dental center in May . The bill exceeded $3000, and I paid $1500 on the surgery day. I filed the $1520 balance with my dental insurance, as the office didn't. After months without payment, I learned the insurance sent the check to the wrong place. Collections added interest, so I paid $1000 and arranged to pay the rest. Despite timely payments, this affected my son's credit score. I'm close to settling the debt, but the agency reported it, impacting his credit.
